MicroMillions III: kpoker27 antes up the title in Event #53 ($3.30 NLHE 6-Max Ante Up)

We're already over halfway through the MicroMillions III schedule and that means time is running out for your chance to turn pocket change into four- and five-figure cash payouts. One person who did exactly that today was kpoker27 who invested a meagre $3.30 and took home a very handy $2,365.75 in prize money as the Canadians continue to impress in this series.

It was Event #53 of the MicroMillions III series with the $3.30 No Limit Hold 'em Ante Up Event. With the blinds staying put at 5/5 throughout the tournament, the antes increased every level to ensure there was a healthy pot in the middle worth fighting for each and every hand!

A total of 5,164 players tossed in the entry fee to form a prize pool of $15,492 to surpass the advertised guarantee. 660 players would make it worth their while, collecting a nice profit.

Marcin "Goral" Horecki missed out on the cash, with the only Team PokerStars Pro in the field falling in 1,379th place. Also missing the money was jhunaironc from the Netherlands who bubbled the $5.42 min-cash in 661st place.

The run towards the final table was a grind, with the players relatively deep-stacked for much of the time. It took over nine hours of play before HeTy_kapT shoved K♦3♠ into electrotop66's A♠4♠, to see HeTy_kapT eliminated on the final table bubble in 7th place.

Final table line-up
Seat 1: regulara (4,127,839 in chips)
Seat 2: kpoker27 (5,558,702 in chips) out of hand
Seat 3: bommel186 (1,876,690 in chips)
Seat 4: Big Dos Qc (2,145,077 in chips)
Seat 5: PAL68 (7,154,100 in chips)
Seat 6: electrotop66 (4,957,592 in chips)

The antes started off at 70,000 for the final table with PAL68 holding the chip lead. Most of the early pots were small with the short-stacked bommel186 landing the first significant blow. bommel186 three-bet shoved A♠7♣ which was ahead of kpoker27 who called with Q♠K♠. The board landed 4♥7♥J♥5♠2♠ to see bommel186 strike an early double up.

It was Big Dos Qc who would be first to crack on this final table. Big Dos Qc moved all in with K♣8♥ but regulara made the call with K♥Q♣. The board was all babies as it landed 3♣4♥2♠6♥2♥ which was no help to Big Dos Qc who was eliminated in 6th place for $247.87.

bommel186 was soon to follow, after an unfortunate fall of the cards:

bommel186 was jacked on the turn and eliminated in 5th place for $464.76.

The biggest pot of the tournament saw chip leaders PAL68 and regulara clash moments later. The chips went flying on a flop of 7♣2♥2♠ with regulara showing 9♥9♠ for an over pair to the board but it was well behind the 7♦7♥ flopped full house of PAL68. The 6♠ turn and 2♣ river completed the board to see PAL68 land a massive double up for the chip lead.

PAL68 held well over half the chips in play as regulara was crippled and all in moments later with A♦9♠ against electrotop66's J♣K♥. regulara held the best hand but fell behind on the board of 7♥Q♠K♠7♦K♦ as electrotop66 improved to trip kings. regulara picked up $784.66 for 4th place.

Three-handed play was an intense affair with many raise-and-take-it pots and plenty of game time before we saw a big clash or elimination.

It would take a flop of 3♠6♦7♦ to induce some heavy post-flop action with kpoker27 betting enough to put electrotop66 all in. electrotop66 called with Q♦8♦ for a flush draw with over card as kpoker27 showed 9♠9♥ for an over pair. The A♣ turn and A♥ river left kpoker27 to collect the pot as Russian electrotop66 turned three bucks into four figures with a $1,239.36 return for 3rd place.

Heads-up chip counts
Seat 2: kpoker27 (10,916,375)
Seat 5: PAL68 (14,903,625)

PAL68 maintained a comfortable advantage, and with the antes at 175,000, there was still plenty of room to play in this heads-up battle.

kpoker27 was able to win several sizable pots on the river to switch the momentum and grab the early lead, but PAL68 fought back with a nice river value bet holding trip aces. PAL68 followed that up with the biggest pot of the heads-up match, when the action was raised and re-raised on the flop, bet and called on the turn, before PAL68 moved all in on the river. The board read 2♣8♥A♥7♥T♦ and kpoker27 gave it up to put PAL68 back into a healthy lead.

However such was the trend of the heads-up war, the shifts and swings saw kpoker27 recover.

A key hand saw PAL68 raise the flop, and bet the turn and river on a board of T♠J♣T♥5♥K♥. kpoker27 called it down and opened K♣Q♥ to river top pair and trump PAL68's J♦9♠.

It put kpoker27 back on top, and soon after, it was all over:
