MicroMillions III: Snooze85 wakes up with a win in Event #75 ($5.50 NLHE 6-Max, Big Antes)

The MicroMillions III moved into its final 25 tournaments today, Event #75's 6-Max, Big Antes format drawing 8,774 players to the virtual felt. 1,140 players earned a share of the $43,870 prize pool with first place set to earn $6,585.72. MicroMillions megastar Marcin Horecki was in the field, but missed out on the money with a 2,762nd-place finish.

Blinds were up to 100,000/200,000 with a 40,000 ante on the final table bubble. After opening for 425,999 and receiving a call from stuupid5, Gdela led out for 654,999 on the 4♣7♣7♥ flop. Stuupid5 raised to 1.3 million, Gdela shoved for 3 million more and stuupid5 called, turning over A♥A♠. Gdela had nothing but air with Q♠J♦. The 2♣ on the turn left Gdela drawing dead and stuupid5 raked in the 7.47 million pot, setting the final table.

Seat 2: 1ARTESIA1 (6,829,555 in chips)
Seat 3: alexeynhk1 (8,808,724 in chips)

Snooze85 snuffs out ludovici and 1ARTESIA1

Ludovici wasn't long for this final table. Following a min-riase from Snooze85 and a call from 1ARTESIA1, ludovici called an additional 200,000 from the big blind to see a T♣9♣5♦ flop. Lucovici checked over to Snooze85, who made a 750,000 c-bet. 1ARTESIA1 folded and ludovici shoved for 3.22 million. Snooze85 quickly called, his K♠T♠ leading ludovici's open-ended straight draw with J♠8♠. Ludovici didn't fill it, the turn and river falling the 5♣ and the 9♦ to end his run in sixth place.

Short stack joanna1287 doubled to 6.1 million when A♣K♣ made the nut flush against 1ARTESIA1's A♠Q♥. Left with only 1.5 million, 1ARTESIA1 managed to double up and hang on for a few more orbits. Things were looking up for 1ARTESIA1 when he moved all-in with 9♥9♦ and was called by Snooze85 with 2♠2♥, but Snooze85 hit a deuce on the flop, the board running out 2♣3♠A♠3♦K♠ to send 1ARTESIA1 to the rail in fifth place.

stuupid5's hardball pays off

Joanna1287 had been lobbying for a deal since the final table began and with four players remaining, everyone agreed to pause the action and run numbers. Here's a look at the chip counts when negotiations began:

stuupid5 (16,300,074)
Snooze85 (13,562,074)
alexeynhk1 (7,123,724)
joanna1287 (6,884,128)

Everyone but chip leader stuupid5 agreed to the chip count chop numbers, which awarded stuupid5 $5,000, Snooze85 $4,363, joana1287 $3,140, and alexeynhk1 $3,138. Stuupid5 wanted to play on if he didn't get at least a $5,500 share and his three opponents scrambled to come up with enough cash out of their own shares to satisfy his demands. Ultimately, Snooze85 gave up $195 and joanna1287 and alexeynhk1 sacrificed $150 apiece to close the deal with the following numbers:

HostSilviaF (Administrator): stuupid5:$5,500.00
HostSilviaF (Administrator): Snooze85:$4,167.19
HostSilviaF (Administrator): joanna1287:$2,989.87
HostSilviaF (Administrator): alexeynhk1:$2,987.92
HostSilviaF (Administrator): Left To Play for place 1: $500.00

stuupid5 shanks alexeynhk1, Snooze85 sacks joanna1287

Soon after the action resumed, alexeynhk1 four-bet shoved for 6.5 million and stuupid5 called with Q♣Q♠. Although alexeynhk1's A♠5♦ hit an ace on the A♥K♥8♣ flop, stuupid5 rivered the Q♦ for the re-suck and sent alexeynhk1 to the rail in fourth place.

Joanna1287 got extremely lucky to hit a K♥9♥K♣ flop when she was all-in with 9♦9♠ against Snooze85's T♠T♥. Although she doubled to 11.6 million on that hand, she wasn't as fortunate when she four-bet shoved with A♦7♦ and got picked off by Snooze85 with pocket jacks. Joanna1287 didn't improve on the 9♠4♠3♣3♦2♠ board and exited in third place.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 1: Snooze85 (21,026,202 in chips)
Seat 6: stuupid5 (22,843,798 in chips)

Snooze85 turned up the aggression and won the first seven heads-up hands, including this 21.2 million pot where he rivered the nut flush:

Now holding a 3 to 1 chip lead, Snooze85 couldn't have hit a better turn or river card after seeing a K♥7♦4♣ flop with J♠4♠. Stuupid5 check-called Snooze85's 600,000 bet, having flopped top pair with K♣9♥, but Snooze85 made trips on the turn when the 4♦ fell. Stuupid5 check-called an additional 1.26 million, only to pair his kicker on the river with the 9♦. This time, stuupid5 led out for 2.1 million and Snooze85 called, taking down the 9.24 million pot.

Down to 3.97 million, stuupid5 open-shoved with T♣7♥. Snooze85 snap-called with A♥J♦. Snooze85 paired his jack and stuupid5 was drawing dead by the turn, the board running out K♠J♣4♥K♥2♣ to lock up the win.

Congratulations to Germany's Snooze85 on shipping a MicroMillions title. He picked up $4,667.19 for the win. Kudos are also due to his fellow countryman stuupid5, who snagged the largest share of the prize pool thanks to the four-way deal.
