MicroMillions III: eatyourstac devours Event #90 field ($1+R NLHE 3x-Turbo)

Today's $1 turbo rebuy event ended with a first. Until tonight, the MicroMillions was devoid of Icelandic winners, but eatyourstac changed that, plowing through this final table like a Vegas buffet to top an 8,204-strong field in Event #90.

The aforementioned 8,204 players made 39,486 rebuys and 4,009 add-ons to drive the prize pool up to $47,046.09. 1,080 places were paid with first place set to earn $7,061.55. Player of the Series leader Marcin Horecki was the lone Red Spade in this field and he missed out on another cash, finishing in 1,917th place.

Blinds were up to 600k/1.2m on the final table bubble and short stack Butchezc finally found a hand he could go with, shoving for 4.07 million with K♣Q♣ behind bendigobenny's open-limp. Bendigobenny called with 7♣8♠ and although he missed the A♠9♥3♠ flop, he paired up with the 8♦ on the turn. Butcherzc needed a king or queen on the river to survive but got the A♥ instead and exited in tenth place, setting the final table.

Seat 7: shadow150 (66,318,766 in chips)
Seat 8: dima.aiba (10,316,488 in chips)
Seat 9: NoDonkaments (12,892,382 in chips)

NoDonkaments busts in ninth as the other short stacks double

NoDonkaments arrived at the final table with ten big blinds and made a move within the first orbit, shoving from UTG with A♦J♣. However, chip leader shadow150 was waiting in the small blind with A♠K♠. NoDonkaments flopped a jack to take the lead, but shadow150 rivered a king, sending NoDonkaments to the rail in ninth place.

Before another player fell, four of the smaller stacks doubled through two of the big stacks. In a blind vs. blind battle, dima.aiba called all-in for 4.5 million from the big after shadow150 made it 6 million to go with Q♣4♠ in the small. Both players paired up on the 9♣7♥4♣ flop, dima.aiba's K♠7♠ hitting middle pair while shadow150 made bottom pair. Shadow150 did not improve any further and dima.aiba raked in the 13.1 million pot.

Keiths777 and Greygiant had their turn against shadow150 a few minutes later. Keiths777 got his last 4.7 million in preflop with A♣Q♥ and the rest of Greygiant's chips went in on a A♠8♠3♠ flop with A♥6♣. Shadow150's T♦T♥ were toast as the turn and river fell the J♣ and the A♦. Keiths777 picked up the 15.5 million main pot and Greygiant took the 31.3 million side pot.

Meanwhile, the blinds were up to 900k/1.8m and MellowNDN was hanging on by a thread with 5.25 million. MellowNDN got his chips in with A♦Q♣ against jdibello's pocket nines and won the race to survive. An ace hit the flop and a queen came on the turn, nearly tripling MellowNDN to 14.6 million.

dima.aiba dusted in eighth, Greygiant gone in seventh

Dima.aiba blinded down to 7.3 million before making a preflop squeeze raise with T♠T♦. After Greygiant opened for 4.2 million and shadow150 called, dima.aiba shoved for 7.3 million from middle position. Bendigobenny cold-called from the big blind, and both Greygiant and shadow150 called as well. Bendigobenny shoved Greygiant off his hand on the A♣9♣6♥ flop, moving in for 23.5 million, but shadow150 called. Bendigobenny's A♦K♣ had shadow150's A♥3♥ dominated and while both players turned trip aces, bendigobenny's kicker played and he took down the massive 78.8 million pot. Shadow150 was left with 36 million and dima.aiba was eliminated in eighth place, earning $564.55.

Down to about half the stack he started with at the final table, shadow150 stopped the bleeding when he got his remaining 35.4 million in preflop with A♣K♠ against Greygiant's A♥T♥. Greygiant did not improve on the 5♦5♠3♠Q♣2♦ board and he was left with only 8.5 million. Two hands later, Greygiant got the rest of his chips in with A♣8♣ but once again found his hand dominated as shadow150 turned over another A♥K♣. Shadow150's hand held up and Greygiant was out in seventh place for a $1,011.49 payday.

Keiths777 doubles MellowNDN, busts in sixth place

The final table endured another round of short-stack double-ups, keiths777 moving up to 25.8 million when his J♥J♦ held against bendigobenny's A♥9♦. MellowNDN snatched those chips away only a few hands later when he put his last 4.89 million in the pot with Q♦8♣. Keiths777 looked him up with A♠7♠ and flopped a seven, but MelowNDN rivered an eight to take down to 12.4 million pot.

Keiths777 was back down to 12.1 million and ended up bluffing off the rest of his chips to eatyourstac to go out in sixth place:

Short stacks sunk

Down to 16.4 million with 1.4m/2.8m blinds, jdibello three-bet shoved from the big blind with pocket sixes and bendigobenny looked him up with A♣6♣. A three-undercard flop was mighty nice for jdibellow, but bendigobenny caught running clubs to make the nut flush, the board finishing 5♥4♣2♥9♣Q♣. Bendigobenny raked in the 35.7 million pot and jdibello busted in fifth, taking home $1,928.88.

Three hands later, eatyourstack made it 12.5 million to go from the small blind and MellowNDN called all-in for 5.24 million. Unfortunately, MellowNDN's A♥7♦ was dominated by A♣Q♣ and a queen hit the flop, sending MellowNDN to the rail. Despite making the final table as the shortest stack, MellowNDN ground out a fourth-place finish and picked up $2,493.44.

The field down to three, eatyourstac had a dominant chip lead with 128.6 million, shadow150 was a distant second with 70 million and bendigobenny was the short stack with 64.6 million. A few orbits later, all three players limped in and saw a K♦J♠4♣ flop. Eatyourstac check-folded to bendigobenny's 9.6 million c-bet, but shadow150 called. The turn brought the 2♦ and bendigobenny led out for 12.8 million. Shadow150 shoved and bendigobenny called off his remaining 19.5 million. Bendigobenny showed K♠8♦ for top pair, but shadow150 had spiked his kicker on the turn with K♥2♥. The river was the 6♥ and shadow150 retook the chip lead while bendigobenny ended his run in third place.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 1: eatyourstac (119,980,864 in chips)
Seat 7: shadow150 (143,359,136 in chips)

Eatyourstac asked shadow150 how he felt about making a deal, but before shadow150 could respond, their chips went in the middle on a 8♣6♦3♥ flop. Eatyourstac turned over K♥8♥ for top pair while shadow150 showed K♣6♣ for middle pair. Shadow150 was drawing dead on the turn when eatyourstac made trips with the 8♦, leaving shadow150 on 52.8 million.

The match was decided on the next hand, shadow150 bluff-shoving the turn with only an overcard and a gutshot straight draw. Eatyourstac called with top pair and hung on through the river to seal the win:

Congratulations to eatyourstac on shipping a MicroMillions title! He picked up $7,061.55 for the win while runner-up shadow150 earned $5,192.47.
