SCOOP: YO! Adrian900123 knocks out field in Event #13-Medium marathon

scoop2009_thn.gifSo, when are the blinds going up? After level six or eight perhaps? At the final table?

Never.

Just five chips are obligated to the blinds in level one and 12 hours later during the cracking of the final table. But, there is a rub for the SCOOP Event #13 Ante Up style tournament. As the name suggest, there is an ante at all times during the tournament and those continue to increase while the blinds stay at the bargain rate of just five chips. For $162 in cash 2,007 players received 1000 big blinds for the Medium buy-in event as the $301,050.00 prize pool tripled the $100,000.00 guarantee.

288 players received at least $240.84 with 150th thru 200th place to be the final resting spot for most of the Team PokerStars pros tonight. George Danzer whose name has been coming up regularly with some dollar signs next to it during the first week of the SCOOP series, cashed again tonight in 171st place ($346.20). Also cashing between 150th and 200th place, Team PokerStars pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (196th place $316.10) Pete De Korver (161st place $361.26), George "Jorj95" Lind (160th place $361.26) and Victor Ramdin (155th place $361.26).

Victor Ramdin: 155th place

After a lengthy fourteen and a half hours we would reach our final table destination. With the ante up to 8,000 Prezidento shoved from UTG for 53,373 as SlowRollJoe1 would shove over the top closing everyone else out. A♠2♠ for Prezidento and pocket fives for SlowRollJoe1 5♥5♦ and after a little flush draw sweat on the river 9♠ K♦ T♦ 8♠ 4♥ Prezidento was impeached in tenth place ($2,257.87).

Seat 1: Adrian900123 (2163170 in chips)
Seat 2: kirbyi17 (876922 in chips)
Seat 3: SlowRollJoe1 (401816 in chips)
Seat 4: fuddebuf (611686 in chips)
Seat 5: McBreed (285177 in chips)
Seat 6: rkruok (814786 in chips)
Seat 7: Runnin Rich (1486653 in chips)
Seat 8: conslice (1867380 in chips)
Seat 9: jeffonx (1527410 in chips)

Just a few hands into the final table with the ante at 9,000 Adrian900123 would open the pot for 55,480 as it folded around to McBreed who would shove over the top all-in for 195,152. Adrian900123 with plenty of chips to spare made the call holding 9♠K♠ was up against the T♣Q♠ of McBreed. King on the flop was all Adrian900123 needed as the 3♦ K♥ J♥ 7♠ 8♣ board would miss McBreed's open ended straight draw ending his night in ninth's place ($2,859.57).

No more slow rolls for Joe

Antes moving up to 10,000 SlowRollJoe1 pushed all-in from UTG + 1 and was raised by Running Rich all-in to shut out the rest of the table. Watch the hand play out below:

Running Rich's pocket jacks J♦J♣ managed to avoid the ace of SlowRollJoe1 holding A♥5♦ on the 9♠ 4♦ 8♥ T♠ 8♣ board. While Joe will hopefully refrain for slowrolling anyone in the future, tonight SlowRollJoe1 takes home $5,117.85 in eighth place.

Befuddled fuddebuf exits in seventh place

The antes held steady at 10,000 when jeffonx pushed out a 37,305 chip raise hoping to take the sizable ready-made pot, but fuddebuf three chairs down shoved over the top for 432,277. Having over a million behind and pocket tens T♦T♣ made the call easier, as fuddebuf turned over pocket sixes 6♣6♥. No sign of the devil came out on the K♣ Q♦ Q♣ 7♥ A♠ board as the other sixes stayed in the deck meaning fuddebuf was history in seventh place ($7,526.25).

Where's a lady when you need one?

Antes bumped up to 12,500 and Adrian900123 led out the betting for a raise to 42,480 chips as Kirbyi17 on the immediate left shoved all-in for 517,202. Folded back around Adrian900123 covered and snap called with big slick K♥A♣. kirbyi17 immediately started searching for a queen holding Q♠K♦. The search would become useless after the ace dropped on the turn J♦ J♠ 8♠ A♥ 3♥ sending kirbyi17 to the showers in sixth place ($10,536.75).

"Obviously"

In one of the larger pots of the tournament rkruok raised to 45,510 and was called by conslice, then three-bet by jeffonx to 591,015. rkruok found better things to do and folded back around to conslice who shoved for 967,886. Watch the reason for conslice's "obviously" quote in below's video:

Two tens on the flop matched nicely with the T♦A♠ sitting in jeffonx's hand thus obviously cracking the pocket kings K♦K♣ of conslice after the rest of the T♥ J♠ T♣ 9♣ J♥ spilled out.

Runnin Good

With the antes still at 17,500 jeffonx found a whole five chips in his near seven million chip stack to call, Adrian900123 getting somewhere north of 14,000:1 to call found a fold, while both the blinds checked. A coordinated 8♣ J♦ 7♣ flop comes out as rkruok and Runnin Rich check, but jeffonx leads out for 39,480 as rkruok check-raises to 148,960 and Runnin Rich calls and jeffonx folded. K♥ on the turn and rkruok made it expensive with a shove for 625,077 as Running Rich snap called with the flopped straight 9♣T♥. rkruok was drawing thin with the flopped two pair J♥8♥ and failed to fill up on the 2♦ river earning $18,665.10 in fourth place.

I just don't believe you

Biggest pot of the tourney of 5.8 million chips goes down between Running Rich and jeffonx watch the largest pot of the tourney go down on the below video:

With the board showing 2♦ J♣ 4♦ 9♦ and 810,000 already in the pot Runnin Rich checked as jeffonx bet 421,545 and Runnin Rich check-raised all-in for 2.4 million. After consulting the stars, some tarot cards, and a few psychic hotlines jeffonx called with pocket queens Q♠Q♣ and set up to fade the flush draw and overcards of Runnin Rich's big slick A♣K♦. The river was a non-diamond 4♠ and 5.8 chips went to jeffonx as Runnin Rich was flush with $27,094.50 earned in third place.

Hour 16 starts mano-o-mano between jeffonx and Adrian900123

At the start of heads up play here's how the pair stood with number of antes at their disposal.

Adrian900123: 1,247,507 (62 antes)
jeffonx: 8,787,493 (439 antes)

Fast forward one hour to the 35,000 ante level and things leveled a bit and some kind of coffee/tea/Red Bull mix would hit the spot right about now:

Adrian900123: 4,302,878 (122 antes)
jeffonx: 5,732,122 (163 antes)

Yaaaaaaaaaawn, wait, what, a deal?!?!

Ironman Team PokerStars Pro William Thorson managed to stay up with us tonight and brokered a quick deal between our final two. $40,000.00 a piece and play for $4,294.83 in the pot. After the quick vows at the altar, our happily paid off couple went back to work.

We've got places to go, people to see

10 minutes before the 18 hour mark our players decided enough was enough and shoved they chips in the middle preflop despite still holding very viable stacks decided to gamble it up preflop. Adrian900123 now led 7.3 million to jeffonx's 2.6 million as Adrian900123 led out for 55,000 and jeffonx shoved for 2.6 million. With surprisingly little thought a call was made holding K♣8♣ as jeffonx turned over the head-scratching 6♣4♠. Three clubs on the J♣ 3♥ 3♣ 7♣ Q♥ meant Event #13-Medium buy-in was in the books and Adrian900123 earned a total of $44,294.83 with the victory.
