SCOOP 2013: Victor "Puropoker123" Lemos claims Event #10-M ($215 NLHE Super-Knockout)
In a knockout tournament, collecting those bounties can be an excellent way to earn some ROI even if you do not make it into the money like 4,052 players did tonight. It is also an excellent way to claim enough chips to win a tournament such as the SCOOP 2013 Event #10-M NLHE Super-Knockout. The top two players with bounties worth $103 a piece, tktxrf with 24 and Patrick "Bandano" Renkers with 20, looked to be in good shape for the SCOOP champion watch. But, it was Victor "Puropoker123" Lemos claiming the SCOOP victory earning $74,987.94 tonight to go along with his WCOOP win last year in Event #46.
As day one ended the previous night so did the tournament for 4,593 players making a chase for the SCOOP championship watch and $74,987.94 left up top for winner. Among those making it into the money were Team Online's Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen (572nd place $186.26), Grzegorz 'DaWarsaw' Mikielewicz (424th place - $205.37 plus two KOs), and Caio Pessagno (398th place - $210.14 plus eight KOs).
tktxrf would have a chance today to collect even more knockouts leading the tournament with 18 of them and starting the day in 23rd place with 447,538 chips and 6K/12K ante 1.5K blinds. BlackStar433 collected the third most KOs yesterday (15) and would also have a shot at a few more but would start the day far down the chip ladder in 43rd place with 138,118 chips.
SCOOP Player of the Series leader (low division) JacktShipper would bow out here quickly on day one after shipping Event #5-L and making it to the quarterfinals of the Event #7-L heads-up tournament. The same quick fate came to the high division leader Ana Marquez, and tied for first in the overall division (with 2012 champ Shaun Deeb who nearly collected watch number six three days ago during Event #4-H)
Fourteen minutes after the first break on the second day the remaining field of 44 would shrink down to three tables of nine as the KO machine tktxrf collected another $103 as Bandano and Vampyra84 sat up on top the leader board. Bandano has plenty of big tournament experience, grabbing sixth place ($26,095.00) in the Super Tuesday in February and ninth place in last year's SCOOP Event #17-M earning $3,800.00
Down to two tables a quick eye would have spotted "coimbras (Portugal)" in the middle of the pack and thought where is Andre's Red Spade? The Team Online member however spells his name as "coimbra" as the final table finally seemed like a reality after starting this tournament 26 hours ago.
Following the break, two UK players (BubsenMan and mcclean147) would find a piece of the rail finishing in 15th and 16th place respectively. Andre's online name twin would suffer a similar fate after shoving 729,769 chips from the button with Q♣K♦ into the chip leading Bandano sitting in the big blind holding A♣Q♦. Despite both players catching their kickers Q♠ 8♣ A♥ 5♥ K♥ coimbras was KO #17 for Patrick "Bandano" Renkers, finishing in 14th place ($2,149.24 plus three KOs).
bn freaks would double up once against gustavctba but not twice as the Brazilian took out bn freaks in 13th place ($2,149.24 plus 10 KOs). Renkers was not giving up the chip lead easily and 15 minutes before the he would collect his 18th KO of the tournament by eliminating LBBigSlickAK in 12th place ($2,865.66 plus 11 KOs).
AceQuad would barely miss another SCOOP final table after making it to the final two tables of Event #11-M yesterday as hand-for-hand play would only take three hands to open up the final table.
With the blinds at 20K/40K ante 5K tchiklimoff would min-raise from the button as Vampyras84 shoved for 669,991 chips from the small blind and BrightStripe did the same for 1.06 million from the big blind. tchiklimoff felt no need to make it a threesome and folded. The race of Vampyras84's pocket threes 3♣3♠ against BrightStripe's Q♥A♠ was settled on the flop K♥ A♦ 9♣ 7♦ 2♥ as Vampyras84 bubbled the final table that was set below:
Seat 1: BrightStripe (1843834 in chips)
Seat 2: Patrick "Bandano" Renkers (5977779 in chips)
Seat 3: pramen (1106078 in chips)
Seat 4: tktxrf (3050515 in chips)
Seat 5: Victor "Puropoker123" Lemos (3503051 in chips)
Seat 6: Rafael "zugzwang16" Porzecanski (650324 in chips)
Seat 7: Bugenhagen76 (807440 in chips)
Seat 8: tchiklimoff (4395484 in chips)
Seat 9: gustavctba (1850495 in chips)
Hi... and bye pramen
The very first hand of the final table tchiklimoff would min-raise again and someone ended up getting eliminated. This time however the chip leader Bandano would three-bet to 182,450 chips as pramen tried to shove both players off their hands betting all-in for 1.1 million from the small blind. tchiklimoff folded but Bandano made the call holding pocket tens T♦T♣. Another flip as pramen showed big slick K♦A♣. No ace came up this time the board connected with Bandano's ten for a straight 7♣ 9♣ 8♠ J♠ 3♣ ending pramen's second day in ninth place ($3,820.88 plus 10 KOs).
Not much longer
Despite an average stack of over 50 big blinds, we would have our second elimination just four hands later. As the blinds stayed level at 20K/40K ante 5K zugzwang16 shoved 1.01 million from middle position tchiklimoff re-shoved from the small blind for 4.08 million. Both would turn up pocket pairs as tchiklimoff's pocket eights 8♥8♣ would hold up against zugzwang16's 5♦5♣ as two more pairs showed up on the board 6♥ 6♣ 2♦ 2♣ 9♠ handing the 2.1 million chip pot to tchiklimoff and $5,970.13 plus five KOs to Rafael 'zugzwang16' Porzecanski who made the UKIPT Season 3 Main Event final table collecting £41,090.
Two big stacks and one caught in the middle
Bandano and tktxrf held over 10 million between them in what looked like a big flop confrontation was about to take place, but gustavctba joined and the big stacks settled down a bit. Watch below for the results.
With the blinds up to 30K/60K ante 7.5K gustavctba would raise to 121,002 as Bandano made it 228,500. tktrft three-bet to 540,000 as the short-stacked gustavctba shoved all-in for a little bit more, 675,043 total. Both Bandano and tktxrf made the call checked to the river on the 7♣ 3♥ T♠ 5♣ 2♣ board as Bandano placed a 582,350 river bet. tktxrf showed A♦Q♦ and folded as Bandano flipped up the turned set of fives 5♥5♠. gustavctba not thrilled about having kings cracked K♣K♠ and less thrilled about exiting the tourney in seventh place ($10,746.24 plus 11 KOs).
With 20 KOs each, tktxrf and Bandano were tied for collecting those $103 bounties. In bounties alone each of them earned almost as much as 13th place overall but tktxrf started the day in the lead for number of KOs and after this hand, would take that lead back. With the blinds up to 40K/80K ante 10K Bugenhagen76 would be all-in for a micro amount in the big blind after losing a two million chip pot to tktxrf two hands ago. Four players limped in to try to grab that bounty. Bandano would bet 168,450 at the 6♣3♦3♣ flop and got calls from tktxrf and tchiklimoff. Another smallish 465,350 chip bet at the 8♥ turn by Bandano got tktxrf upset as the Russian shoved for 4.29 million. Bandano wanted nothing to do with that bet as he folded and tktxrf turned up the flopped trips J♠3♠. 7♣ on the river did not help Bugenhagen76's pocket fours 4♥4♣ as the UK player took $15,522.35 plus four bounties out the door in sixth place as tktxrf retook the lead for KOs.
Not bright enough
As the blinds moved up to 50K/100K ante 12.5K BrightStripe would start off with a min-raise as tktxrf three-bet to 500,000 getting the blinds to fold. BrightStripe however had no intentions on leaving and shoved for 3.7 million. tktxrf covered and snap called with aces A♥A♠ while BrightStripe needed to pull something off with J♠Q♠. Only a jack would hit the 5♦ 5♥ 4♦ 8♣ J♣ board as tktxrf collected yet another bounty and BrightStripe collected $20,298.46 (plus 14 KOs) in fifth place.
tktxrf is the bounty champ
Regardless of the remaining eliminations, tktxrf would walking away tonight with the most $103 knockouts because just two hands after KO'ing BrightStripe, the Russian would get another one. The blinds held steady as tchiklimoff would min-raise from the button as tktxrf wasted no time in shoving for 7.7 million. tchiklimoff holding pocket tens T♥T♠ made the call for less. tktxrf's Q♠A♣ wasted no time hooking up with two more aces on the 6♦ 2♠ A♠ A♦ K♥ board and gaining another $103 bounty as tchiklimoff went home in fourth place ($27,462.63 plus seven KOs).
Patrick "Bandano" Renkers finishes is third place
After getting knocked around by Puropoker for two pots worth 8.5 million, the chip leader for the majority of the final table, Bandano was now down to 1.97 million chips as the blinds moved up to 60K/120K ante 15K. tktxrf and Bandano would trade preflop bets until four million chips sat in the middle. Renkers' pocket jacks J♦J♥ looking squarely at the pocket kings K♣K♦ of tktxrf. No jacks on the T♥ 6♦ 3♣ Q♣ 6♥ board and Patrick "Bandano" Renkers was eliminated in third place ($39,402.90 plus 20 KOs).
KO champ does not equal SCOOP champ
Just three minutes into the heads-up battle, Puropoker123 would overturn the 15.1 million to 8 million chip deficit with a cooler that saw tktxrf hit an ace-high flush on the river at the same that Puropoker123 notched a full house taking down a 19.9 million chip pot and knocking the KO champ down to three million chips.
tktxrf would grab a double up and make it to the hourly break, but with the blinds at 70K/140K ante 17.5K and three minutes after they returned from the third hourly break another hand similar to the one that turned the chip count would happen. Watch below for the final hand of Event #10-M:
A turned straight for tktxrf's 5♣9♠ on the 6♣ 7♥ 4♦ 8♦ 6♥ became a rivered boat for Puropoker123's pocket eights 8♣8♠ as Victor "Puropoker123" Lemos took home the most important bounty of all winning the SCOOP champion's watch and $74,987.94 as the Event #10-M champion and now one away from the Triple COOP!
