SCOOP 2015: anila18 annihilates Event #32-L final table ($27 Razz)

Another SCOOP event, another decorated final table. Despite the low buy-in, this $27 Razz tournament reached a final table littered with a WCOOP champion and SCOOP runner-up in janik446 as well as an appearance from Kyle "km_freestyle" Menne, who only five days ago, defeated Shaun Deeb heads-up to win Event #16-M. Km_freestyle and januk446 wouldn't win second titles tonight as they went out in eighth and fifth respectively, leaving room for two small-stakes MTTers to go for SCOOP glory. After a heads-up battle that lasted well over an hour, Germany's anila18 defeated lagrossezaza and came away with his first SCOOP victory and over $6,000.

1,554 Razz fans bought into Event #32-L, creating a $38,150.70 prize pool. 208 players earned a share of it with $6,677.26 set aside for the champion.

On the final table bubble, the betting limits were up to 40,000/80,000 and repetor83 was the short stack with 248,218 in chips. With an eight up, repetor83 completed to 40,000 and set off a raising war with lagrossezaza. The betting was capped and repetor83 led out on fourth street. Lagrossezaza called. Repetor83 bet his last 40,218 on fifth street and lagrossezaza looked him up.

lagreossezaza (7-3) 6-Q-4-4 (2)

Although repetor83 led with a T-8 low on fifth street, he paired his three and caught a river king to finish with T-8-6-5-3. Lagrossezaza also paired on sixth, but hit a deuce on the river to make a 7-6-4-3-2 low and eliminated repetor83 in ninth place.

Km_freestyle caught the worst of it in the early going and got the rest of his chips in on fifth street, showing (7-4) 5-6-5 vs anila18's (A-8) 2-7-J. Km_freestyle paired his seven on sixth street while anila18 caught a king, and on the river, both players bricked, anila18 pairing eights while km_freestyle caught a king. Anila18's J-8-7-2-A prevailed over K-7-6-5-4 and km_freestyle hit the rail in eighth place.

Anila18 moved up to 1.72 million in chips after that hand and got a further boost to 2.96 million when he made a 6-5-4-3-A low vs. Slavik_Krs in a 1.06 million pot. Meanwhile, lagrossezaza doubled through janik446, after getting the last of her chips in on fifth street. Lagrosseszaza turned up 6-5-4-3-A against janik446's 7-5-4-3-A and moved up to 1.12 million.

Ekvilibryst was the short stack seven-handed and got the rest of his chips in on third street vs. Slavik_Krs and anila18, who continued betting on the side. Anila18 led out on fourth street showing A-2 and Slavik_Krs called with 3-8. On fifth, anila18 led again with a A-2-7 board, Slavik_Krs raised to 320,000 with 3-8-6 showing and anila18 folded. Slavik_Krs finished with a 7-6-5-3-2, crushing ekvilibryst's Q-J-8-7-6 and eliminating him in seventh place.

SeregaZ88 had 831,000 behind when he completed to 80,000 with an ace showing and anila18 raised with a deuce up. SeregaZ88 called and check-called another 80,000 on fourth street. Anila18 led out on fifth and sixth streets and SeregaZ88 called him down. Anila18 fired again on the river, but SeregaZ88 folded, saving his last 205,000.

anila18 (X-X) 2-6-4-Q (X)
SeregaZ88 (X-X) A-5-A-6 (X)

Seven hands later, SeregaZ88 got the rest of his chips in on fourth street vs. lagrossezaza. Although SeregaZ88 made an 8-6-5-4-A low, lagrossezaza made a 6-5-3-2-A and SeregaZ88 was out in sixth place.

On the very next deal, anila18 completed to 100,000 with a deuce up and janik446 raised to 200,000 with a six showing. Anila18 reraised to 300,000 and janik446 called all-in.

janik446 (8-7) 6-7-J-5 (T)
anila18 (Q-7) 2-A-4-4- (9)

Janik446's T-8 low was no match for anila18's 9-7 low and he hit the rail in fifth place.

Five hands later, the betting was capped on third street between lagrossezaza and oembrie. Lagrossezaza led out on fourth street and oembrie called all-in.

oembrie (2-8) A-9-J-7 (2)
lagrossezaza (T-6) 4-5-Q-3 (8)

Oembrie had the lead going into the river with a 9-8-7-3-A low, but lagrossezaza caught an eight to make an 8-6-5-4-3, eliminating oembrie in fourth place.

The action didn't let up and three hands later, Slavik_Krs got the rest of his chips in on fourth street, showing a 5-7 vs. lagrossezaza's 5-8. However, Slavik_Krs bricked on fifth and sixth street, catching two kings, before he made a T-7-5-3-2 low on the river. It wasn't enough to beat lagrossezaza's 8-6-5-4-3 and Slavik_Krs exited in third place.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 2: lagrossezaza (3,551,173 in chips)
Seat 5: anila18 (4,218,827 in chips)

Lagrossezaza and anila18 played a dozen hands heads-up before deciding to pause the action and discuss a potential deal. Here's a look at their counts when negotiations began:

lagrossezaza 3,687,173
anila18 4,082,827

The pair quickly agreed to an ICM chop that awarded anila18 $5,508.90 and lagrossezaza $5,437.19. With $500 still in play, cards went back in the air.

Despite the deal, heads-up play continued for over an hour. Within the first 20 minutes anila18 chipped up to 5.3 million, but lagrossezaza flipped the script and took a slight chip lead when she fired fourth, fifth, and sixth streets, turning up an 8-7-5-3-2 low on the river. It was a dead heat for the next ten minutes before lagrossezaza completed to 200,000 on third street with a trey up and anila18 called with a king. Lagrossezaza bet fourth, fifth, and sixth streets before check-calling on the river.

lagrossezaza (4-J) 3-7-2-K (T)
anila18 (A-5) K-2-K-9 (J)

Lagrossezaza's T-7 low was good against anila18's J-9 and she moved up to 5.31 million in chips, leaving anila18 on 2.46 million.

However, four hands later, anila18 answered, picking up a 3 million chip pot with a 9-8-6-5-A low. Lagrossezaza called him down to the river with a K-7-T-8 board, but mucked on the river. Once again, the counts were even, with anila18 on 3.91 million in chips and lagrossezaza holding 3.85 million.

The stalemate broke when lagrossezaza completed to 250,000 with a six up and anila18 decided to raise with a king showing. Lagrossezaza just called, and led out again on fourth street. Anila18 called lagrossezaza's fourth and fifth street bets before lagrossezaza slowed down and checked sixth street. Anila18 bet and lagrossezaza called. Lagrossezaza check-called another 500,000 on the river, but couldn't beat anila18, who rivered an eight to make an 8-5-4-2-A low.

lagrossezaza (X-X) 6-8-J-7 (X)
anila18 (2-A) K-T-5-4-(8)

Lagrossezaza was left with 1.47 million after the hand and chipped back up to 2.6 million in short order, but anila18 pushed her back down to 1.05 million with a 7-6-4-3-2 low. With 926,000 left, lagrossezaza called anila18's 250,000 completion on third street and led out on fourth. Anila18 raised and lagrossezaza called. On fifth street, lagrossezaza bet her last 126,173 and anila18 called.

anila18 (3-7) 5-Q-4-7 (T)
lagrossezaza (6-J) 2-6-A-3 (J)

Anila18 trailed with a Q-7 low going into the river vs. lagrossezaza's J-6, but caught a ten on the river to make a T-7-5-4-3 and lock up the win.

Congratulations to Germany's anila18 on his first SCOOP title! He banked $6,008.90 for the win while lagrossezaza earned $5,437.19.
