SCOOP 2015: Mike "SirWatts" Watson breaks through with victory in 6-Max PLO Event #29-M ($215 PLO Re-Entry)

Cracking Aces is not as brutal in the PLO universe as it is in the NL hold'em realm, yet it still stings though. With three to go in Event #29-M, SirWatts won a decisive pot that propelled him on a path toward the winner's circle. SirWatts snapped off FatmanScoop's set of Aces with a flush to win a pot in excess of 7M. That hand crippled FatmanScoop and thrust SirWatts into the lead. SirWatts knocked out FatmanScoop four hands later, then quickly liquidated MrSmits heads-up in a single hand. And just like that, Canada's Mike "SirWatts" Watson became the newest SCOOP champion. It's been a good 2015 SCOOP thus far for SirWatts, who advanced to two other final tables in Event #8-H and Event #14-M.

2015 SCOOP Event #29-M $215 PLO (6-Max, Optional Re-Entry) attracted 1,159 runners plus 665 re-entries for a total number of 1,824 entrants. They created a prize pool worth $364,800, which easily doubled the original $175K Guarantee. The top 228 places paid out with $58,368.00 initially set aside to the champion.

With 12 to go on the final two tables, SirWatts led the way with 2M. With 7 to go, action went hand-for-hand on the final two tables. SirWatts slipped to third and lost the lead to Zinobrinho's 2.5M big stack. Finland's jippo79 bubbled off the final table in seventh place. jippo79's A♥Q♣J♣5♣ and pair of eights lost to FatmanScoops's A♦K♠6♦2♠ and two pair (eights and sixes).
