Sunday Million: huuuz cruises to victory, scores $180k

Huuuz hit his rush at the perfect moment. After negotiations for a five-way deal failed, huuuz shifted into high gear and took out three players in a row, getting heads-up with Snusarn at a 5 to 1 chip advantage. Snusarn quickly doubled and gave huuuz enough of a scare to inspire a heads-up deal, but huuuz prevailed, locking up over $180,000 in prize money and winning his first online major.

This week's field topped out at 6,244 players and the prizepool at $1,248,800. 900 places were paid with first place set to earn $189,945.72. Eight Red Spades joined the action-- Stavros Kalfas, Johnny Lodden, Lex Veldhuis, Sebastian Ruthenberg, Caio Pessagno, Joao "jomane" Nunes, George "Jorj95" Lind III, and Martin Hruby-- but none of them finished in the money.

Over ten hours after cards went in the air, ten players remained. With the blinds up to 125,000/250,000, SeeYouAnte18 picked up K♠T♣ and open-shoved for his remaining 3.9 million from the small blind. ChrisFun123 called from the big, revealing 7♦7♠. ChrisFun123 survived the Q♥3♣3♦ flop and turned sevens full, ending SeeYouAnte18's run on the final table bubble.

Seat 9: wond3rk1d (4,150,439 in chips)

Early exits

Borveg wasn't the shortest stack to make the final table, but he was the first player eliminated. Dealt A♠J♦ UTG, borveg opened for 600,000 and Snusarn three-bet to 1,225,000 from the small blind. Borveg called and they saw a K♠J♣6♦ flop. Snusran led out for 705,650, borveg shoved for 2.83 million and Snusarn called, revealing A♥K♣ for top pair. Borveg couldn't catch up, the turn and river falling the T♠ and the 9♦ to send him home in ninth place ($9,678.20).

Micro-stack Langustee managed to hang around until the next level. With 300,000 of his remaining 705,000 committed in the big blind, Langustee called onlymany's shove, but found his A♥6♣ dominated by A♠K♣. Onlymany flopped a king and Langustee was eliminated in eighth place, earning $14,985.60.

ChirsFun123 stings Bumbulbee_G, huuuz hoses BernyRs2

Bumbulbee_G was next to try his luck, three-bet shoving for 4.2 million over ChrisFun123's 600,000 min-raise. ChrisFun123 snap-called, revealing K♦K♣ to Bumbulbee_G's A♥Q♥. Bumbulbee_G flopped a queen but didn't improve any further and went out in seventh place ($27,473.60).

On the very next deal, BernyRs2 open-shoved for his last 688,000 on the button with K♣9♦. Huuuz three-bet to 1.2 million from the small blind to isolate and revealed pocket eights. Huuuz flopped top set, the board running out 8♦6♦3♠2♠A♦ to send BernyRs2 to the rail in sixth place ($39,961.60).

I wont million

Despite the presence of two extremely short stacks, the final five agreed to pause the action and discuss a potential deal. Here's a look at their chip counts when negotiations began:

Blinds 200,000/400,000

Snusarn - 22,562,779
ChrisFun123 - 20,883,670
huuuz - 13,388,552
onlymany - 3,209,560
wond3rk1d - 2,395,439

Naturally, onlymany and wond3rk1d were quick to agree to the chip chop numbers, which guaranteed them a minimum 70k payday. Snusarn was looking for a 6k pay bump from the 134.7k he was offered, while ChrisFun123 refused to settle for anything less than 146k despite being second in chips.

ChrisFun123: lol guys
ChrisFun123: i understand the actual numbers
ChrisFun123: but i wont million

With discussions at an impasse, action resumed.

huuuz hits his rush

Down to his last 5 bb, wond3rk1d experienced a bit of good fortune when he picked up A♣A♦ and doubled through huuuz, who gave him action with A♠7♥. Wond3rk1d moved up to 4.4 million, but within a few minutes most of it landed in onlymany's stack. The two short stacks got their money in preflop and onlymany's A♣Q♥ held against wond3rk1d's K♣J♣, good for a double-up to 4.85 million. A few hands later, huuuz finished off onlymany in fifth place when his Q♦Q♣ held up against 8♥8♠.

Three hands later, huuuz opened for a min-raise to 1,000,000 and wond3rk1d three-bet shoved for 3.33 million with A♠J♥. Huuuz called with 9♣9♠ and won the coinflip, the board running out Q♦2♥2♠K♣3♥ to end wond3rk1d's run in fourth place ($68,684.00).

With the field down to three, huuuz held the chip lead with 29.5 million, Snusarn was close behind with 22.7 million and ChrisFun123 was the short stack with 10 million. However, huuuz claimed about 2/3 of ChrisFun123's stack in this 17 million pot when he raised the river and ChrisFun123 folded.

Huuuz finished off ChrisFun123 on the very next hand. ChrisFun123 four-bet shoved preflop for 4.1 million and huuuz called, his 8♠8♥ racing against A♥J♥. The eights hung on and ChrisFun123 hit the rail in third place, earning $99,904.00 for his Sunday on the felt.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 4: huuuz (52,608,521 in chips)
Seat 5: Snusarn (9,831,479 in chips)

Snusarn entered heads-up play at more than a 5 to 1 chip defecit but managed to double up on the first hand of the match, her 7♦7♣ holding up against A♠J♠ to take her stack up to 19.7 million.

Two hands later, both players agreed to pause the action and take another crack at making a deal. This time, negotiations were quick and easy, huuz and Snusarn agreeing to a chip count chop that left $20,000 in play for the winner.

Cards went back in the air and huuuz rebounded, snagging a 9.9 million pot. After Snusarn three-bet pre and led out on a J♠9♦3♠ flop, huuuz threw in a 4.8 million raise and got a fold from his opponent.

Three hands later, Snusarn opened for a min-raise to 1.2 million and huuuz called to see a 9♠9♦8♦ flop. Huuuz checked, Snusarn bet 805,650, and huuuz came in with a raise to 1.8 million. Snusarn shoved for 10.5 million but huuuz looked him up. Snusarn's flush draw failed to come in against huuuz's two pair and he locked up the Sunday Million win.

Vamoooooo huuuz, our newest Sunday Million champion! He banked $180,669.83 for the win while runner-up Snusarn earned $149,765.89.
