Tonaldinho11 takes Sunday Million title, $234K; Team Pros Akkari 6th, Cada 13th
It was yet another huge Sunday Million this week, with 7,805 entrants and a guarantee-smashing $1,561,000 prize pool. Deep runs by a couple of Team PokerStars Pros added some extra drama, but in the end it was Tonaldinho11 of the Netherlands coming out on top to claim the victory and $234,150 first prize.
The bubble burst inside of five hours, and a short while after that pappadogg had grabbed the top spot as the first to 500,000 with Team PokerStars Pro Joe "jcada99" Cada having claimed a spot inside the top 10.
Making it to the money along with Cada were his red-spade sporting teammates Martin "AABenjaminAA" Hrubý and Andre "aakkari" Akkari. Before long the field was shrinking down toward 200 players, and for a moment all three of the remaining Team PokerStars Pros were sitting with nearly identical stacks in 76th, 77th, and 78th places.
The trio would continue to battle another half-hour, then Hrubý finally met his end after committing with K♦Q♦ against le_marc08's A♦Q♠ and failing to improve, thereby hitting the rail in 160th place ($874.16).
Later as they approached the eight-hour mark, just 100 remained, with strip23 leading with more than 3 million chips and both Cada and Akkari now challenging with about 2 million each.
Both Team PokerStars Pros would continue to remain on the first page of the leader board as players fell and drjovaside pushed in front as the first player to more than 10 million. And both were still there when the tourney clock struck 10 hours and just 18 players were left.
It took about 20 minutes for five more players to fall, during which stretch Tonaldinho11 claimed first position by moving up over 13 million. vandir4rek (18th), BIH Buzim (17th), and fiscardddd (16th) each picked up $4,136.65 for their efforts, and pellompogos (15th) and eugens218 (14th) took away $6,244.00 apiece.
That's when Joe Cada open raised all in for 3,158,540 from under the gun (a little less than 13 big blinds) and leader Tonaldinho11 reraised all in from a couple of seats over, forcing folds all around. Cada had K♣J♠ and Tonaldinho11 Q♠Q♥, and when the board rolled out 4♣5♦6♥4♥3♣, Cada was done in 13th place, also good for $6,244.00.
A half-hour later they were down to nine, with ottoman09 (12th), MRiverAce (11th), and Nell (10th) each earning $8,351.35 as they came up just shy of the final table.

The first hand of the final table was the last of Level 38, and when Level 39 began the blinds were a whopping 200,000/400,000 (with a 40,000 ante), which meant the short stacks couldn't wait too much longer before making their moves.
Soon enough it was the table's shortest stack aspoker1234 open-pushing all in for 629,887 from middle position with Q♣T♥ and getting a single caller in Boomaloom in the big blind with 6♠2♠. The flop came 6♦6♥J♦ to give Boomaloom trip sixes, and after the 4♥ turn and 7♠ river they were down to eight.
Soon after that hand it was CHUBSTER open-pushing for 1,626,832 from the hijack seat, then Akkari reraising to 10.8 million from the button and thus scattering the blinds. CHUBSTER had 9♥9♠ and Akkari J♠J♥, and after the five community cards came 4♣8♥K♠5♥K♥, CHUBSTER was out in eighth.
A short while later Tonaldinho11 opened with a 2x raise to 1 million from early position and Boomaloom reraised all in for 1,599,772 from the button. It folded back to Tonaldinho11 who called, turning over A♣Q♠ to Boomaloom's 6♥6♠.
The flop paired Tonaldinho11 once, coming J♣8♥Q♣, and the A♦ turn card improved Tonaldinho11 to two pair. The river was the 3♥, and Boomaloom was out in seventh.
Some time after that Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari found himself sixth out of six in chips and with the blinds up to 300,000/600,000 deciding to open-raise all in for 5,896,421 from the button. le_marc08 then reraised all in over the top from the small blind, and czowel folded from the big blind.
le_marc08 turned over A♣T♥, which meant Akkari needed some help with his A♠8♠. But the board came 4♣5♠2♥K♣Q♥, and the Brazilian Team Pro's Sunday Million run ended in sixth place.
Thanks in part to that hand, le_marc08 had moved into the lead, pushing up close to 30 million chips while Tonaldinho11 was in second with about 17.5 million.
Just a few minutes later, Tonaldinho11 min-raised to 1.6 million from under the gun, and it folded around to drjovaside who reraised all in for 12,873,054 from the big blind. Tonaldinho11 called, tabling 8♦8♥ while drjovaside had A♥T♠. The board came J♠6♥5♣, then 6♦, then 6♠, leaving Tonaldinho11 with a full house and sending drjovaside railward in fifth.
Just a couple of hands after that it was czowel pushing for 6,725,584 from UTG and Tonaldinho11 calling from the small blind. czowel had A♦J♣ and Tonaldinho11 A♠Q♠, and five cards later -- 5♦8♣Q♥T♣5♥ -- they were down to three.
The final trio battled for about 15 minutes, with Tonaldinho11 retaking the top spot and pushing up over 36.7 million, with Sieder85 next with just over 22 million and le_marc08 third with a little less than 19.3 million.
The blinds increased again to 500k/1m, and a hand arose in which Sieder85 opened for 3 million from the button, then le_marc08 reraised all in for 19,181,079 from the big blind and Sieder85 called.
The flop came T♣K♦8♠ and the turn the 3♠, and le_marc08's hand was still best. But the Q♠ fell on the river to pair Sieder85, knocking le_marc08 out in third.
Heads-up play began with Sieder85 having pushed ahead with 41,885,273 to Tonaldinho11's 36,164,727.
Tonaldinho11 quickly retook the lead, however, then pushed out to nearly a 3-to-1 edge with more than 56.4 million to Sieder85's almost 21.6 million. Then, almost 12 hours and 20 minutes after the first hands of the tournament had been dealt, the end finally arrived.
The last hand came in Level 44, where the blinds were 600k/1.2m. Sieder85 started things with a big raise to 6 million from the button, and when Tonaldinho11 shoved all in with a reraise, Sieder85 called.
Sieder had Q♠9♣ and was hoping for a queen or some other favorable combination of community cards versus Tonaldinho11's A♦9♦. But the board rolled out eight-high, coming 8♥8♦6♦5♥2♠, and Tonaldinho11 had won.
Congratulations to Tonaldinho11 for besting more than 7,800 opponents to claim a cool $234K-plus payday!
