The final Super Tuesday of 2010 saw a field of 396 players registered, creating a prize pool of $396,000 with the last 45 players picking up some post-holiday cash. The final table of nine would earn from $6,930 to an expected first place prize of $76,626. The unfortunate bubble boy tonight would be former WCOOP winner Daniel "djk123" Kelly.

Team Pokerstars Pros Johnny Lodden, Marcello Del Grosso, Alex Gomes, Pat Pezzin participated in tonight's tournament, but failed to make the money. The only member of Team PokerStars Pro who would have that honor would be Victor Ramdin as he made a deep run before eventually finishing in 13th place for $4,950.00.

Hand for hand play at the final table bubble lasted an extended period of time before PQuest99 finished in 10th place, cashing in for $5,940.00. The blinds were at 2,400/4,800 with an ante of 600 as BBOY3110 opened from UTG to 9,995 with J♥J♠. Action folded to PQuest99 in the big blind, moving all-in for their remaining 83,057 chips with Q♥T♥. BBOY310 made the call, and the board ran out 9♥ 5♠ K♦ 5♦ 2♥ as the last Super Tuesday final table of 2010 was now set.

How the remaining nine players were seated when play began at the final table:

Seat 1: TeeMoneyTN (147,438 in chips)
Seat 2: zaxman13 (287,140 in chips)
Seat 3: engelberth.v (269,268 in chips)
Seat 4: Wumax (158,201 in chips)
Seat 5: JoeGall (301,568 in chips)
Seat 6: RynCzechLion (256,960 in chips)
Seat 7: BBOY3110 (274,783 in chips)
Seat 8: Ericb09 (140,796 in chips)
Seat 9: g.karolis (143,846 in chips)

The first elimination at the final table would turn out to be the final hand at the 2,400/4,800/600 level as Ericb09 would exit in 9th place, earning $6,930.00. The hand started with zaxman13 opening from UTG to 9,984 with K♥K♠, followed by a raise from BBOY3110 to 24,500. Ericb09 shoved for 115,596 from the button with 9♦9♣ as zaxman13 made the call and BBOY3110 folded. The hoped for two-outter by Ericb09 didn't arrive as the board came down 2♣ 2♠ 6♣ J♠ T♠ meant an empty space replaced his avatar at the final table.

The next player to possibly get a congratulatory email for finishing in 8th place was g.karolis whose pair ran into a bigger pair, picking up $9,504.00. The blinds were now up to 3,200/6,400 with an ante of 800 when action in the hand had folded around to RynCzechLion, opening for 14,175 with K♥K♦. In the small blind, g.karolis moved in for their remaining 76,884 in chips with T♥T♦. RynCzechLion quickly called and had the hand locked up on the turn as the board was 4♦ 2♥ 8♦ K♣ A♦ with the remaining seven players each guaranteed a five figure score.

JoeGall, who held the chip lead when he final table began, crashed and burned to finish in 7th place, pocketing a disappointing $13,446.00. The blinds had jumped to 3,600/7,200 with an ante of 900 as BBOY3110 opened from UTG to 15,995. Action folded to JoeGall in the small blind, moving in for their last 46,299 from the small blind as BBOY3110 made the call. When the cards were turned over, BBOY3110 held the lead with Q♥9♠ as JoeGall held T♥9♥. The board ran out A♥ A♦ 3♠ 9♦ 6♥ as the queen kicker played and JoeGall's image disappeared from the final table as BBOY3110 moved into the chip lead.

The tournament rolled into the 10th hour with six players left, but TeeMoneyTN wasn't going to make it to the next break. The blinds displayed 4,000/8,000 with an ante of 1,000 as BBOY3110 opened from UTG to 17,995. TeeMoneyTN took the opportunity to put their last 103,186 chips in the middle from UTG +1. The new chipleader, engelberth.v, made the call as BBOY3110 decided to let go of their hand. When the cards were on their backs TeeMoneyTN was dominated, holding A♠9♦ while engelberth.v held A♥Q♣. The flop was T♠ Q♦ 4♣, and TeeMoneyTN's comeback thoughts of runner-runner were quickly dashed when the turn and river cards were the 8♠6♥ as TeeMoneyTN was dispatched in 6th place, earning $17,424.00.

As the blinds now moved up to 4,500/9,000 with an ante of 1,125, having the better pocket pair in all-in confrontations was becoming the norm. Holding A♣A♦, Wumax surely had that thought in mind after seeing RynCzechLion holding 9♠9♣. Mentioning this detail means you know what's about to happen, right?:

Wumax earned $22,572 for their 5th place finish.

With play four-handed, the next elimination was from a blind v blind situation with the chips going in on the river. In the small blind, BBOY3110 raised to 24,800 as zaxman13 made the call. The pair saw the 2♥ 6♦ 9♦ as BBOY3110 led out with a bet of 28,900 as zaxman13 made the call. The turn was the 2♦ as BBOY3110 led out with a bet of 43,000. This time, zaxman13 raised to 96,000 as BBOY3110 made the call. The 7♠ came on the river, and this time BBOY3110 decided to check. This decision had zaxman13 going all-in for their remaining 126,989 and BBOY3110 decided to make the call. When the cards were shown, zaxman13 held J♦T♥ while BBOY3110 held Q♦6♥. as zaxman13's bluff meant a 4th place finish, good for $32,670.

A short time later, the chip counts of the remaining players were close together and a deal was mentioned. Here's how the chip counts looked as a deal was discussed:

engelberth.v - 687,498
BBOY3110 - 665,148
RynCzechLion - 627,534

A chop with each player receiving $59,202 was proposed amongst the players. However, BOY3110 suggested that each player get $57,000 with the remaining $6,606 given to the winner. This was quickly agreed upon and play continued.

Play resumed with the blinds at 5,000/10,000 with an ante of 1,250 when RynCzechLion decided to go big or go elsewhere. From the small blind, engelberth.v min-raised to 20,000 with A♠J♥. RynCzechLion re-raised to 120,000 with A♣2♠. This led engelberth.v to move all-in as RynCzechLion called for their tournament life. No more deuces were coming as the board ran out A♥ 9♣ 4♥ 6♣ Q♥ as RynCzechLion would have to settle with $57,000 for 3rd place.

Heads-up play began with engelberth.v holding a 5-3 chip lead over BBOY3110, which eventually grew to a 6-1 chip advantage. However, BBOY3110 would not give up, taking over the chip lead after this hand played out:

That lead would be short-lived as engelberth.v regained the lead, and again had a 6-1 chip advantage. This time, there was no comeback in the making for BBOY3110. The blinds were now at 7,000/14,000 with an ante of 1,750 as BBOY3110 limped from the small blind. Having none of this limping business, engelberth.v raised to 42,000 as BBOY3110 decided to ship it with their remaining 280,200 chips with A♦3♥. Engelberth.v called with Q♦J♠. The flop was Q♥ 7♦ 7♠ as engelberth.v took the lead. BBOY3110 was drawing to the three remaining aces, but no help would come as the turn was the 5♠ and the river was the 7♣ as BBOY3110 earned $57,000 for finishing 2nd, while engelberth.v earned the additional $6,606 set aside for the winner, taking their total to $63,606. This concludes the Super Tuesday tournaments for 2010, but fear not! Super Tuesday will be back next week for more high buy-in tournament action and the PokerStars blog will be there to cover it for you, the reader.
