Alex "MrKloutt" Casals captures 2/10/15 Super Tuesday after four-way chop

The Spaniard Alex "MrKloutt" Casals is no stranger to success at PokerStars, having won a SCOOP event before while collecting many other wins and deep runs. This week while playing from tiny Andorra -- situated in between Spain and France -- Casals added another significant score by topping a big field of 602 to win the Super Tuesday, collecting a $82,434.19 first prize after a four-way deal at what was a stacked final table.

That field built a prize pool of $602,000, well over the $400K guarantee. They'd made it through nearly six hours' worth of poker by the time just 73 remained and hand-for-hand play commenced, and shortly after a short-stacked Tim "tamiam122" Cramer was all in with A♠K♥ versus ElCast13's 3♥3♠. A flop of 2♠A♥Q♦ looked good for Cramer, but the 5♦ on the turn and the 4♣ on the river added up to a backdoor straight for ElCast13 and a 73rd-place finish for tamiam122, the last to fall before the money.

About 75 minutes later the field had been whittled to just 18 players, with Cashloser leading the counts as the only player north of 300,000 chips.

a Bull 67 (18th), Pedro "skyboy69" Oliveira (17th), and Kobasteris (16th) were the next out, taking away $4,816 apiece from the prize pool. hellzito (15th), klauniq (14th), and WCOOP event winner Ryan "gutshtallin" Welch (13th) followed them to the rail, earning $6,020 apiece. Then FaceStealer (12th), Gambler4444 (11th), and Aaron "JeanGrae" McCready (10th) were successively eliminated, each picking up $7,224 for not quite making the final table.

With Cashloser still the leader -- now with over 700,000 -- and the nine-hour mark approaching, the final table was underway.

Seat 1: ale6ka (Belarus) -- 386,789
Seat 2: Seth "Setherson2" Davies (Mexico) -- 243,004
Seat 3: Alex "MrKloutt" Casals (Andorra) -- 121,580
Seat 4: LR-President (Germany) -- 237,728
Seat 5: Cashloser (Germany) -- 702,263
Seat 6: Connor "blanconegro" Drinan (Mexico) -- 487,788
Seat 7: Georgios "GeoManousos" Sotiropoulos (Austria) -- 265,888
Seat 8: silvasilva88 (Germany) -- 452,388
Seat 9: Grayson "gray31" Ramage (Canada) -- 112,572

They hadn't quite gotten through the first orbit when Georgios "GeoManousos" Sotiropoulos opened from the button, Grayson "gray31" Ramage called from the big blind, and the pair saw a flop come 6♣5♦5♥. Ramage checked, then after Sotiropoulos continued, Ramage shoved all in and Sotiropoulos called.

Both players had sixes and fives, but Sotiropoulos had the better kicker with A♥6♠ versus Ramage's K♣6♥. The turn was the Q♣ and river the T♥, and Ramage was out in ninth.

A little over half an hour later, Cashloser was still leading when making a min-raise to 18,000 from under the gun, then watching Connor "blanconegro" Drinan three-bet to 41,222 from a seat over. It folded back around and Cashloser called, and the flop came J♥8♥8♦. Cashloser checked, Drinan bet 41,750, Cashloser check-raised to 108,000, and Drinan called.

The turn brought the 5♠. At that Cashloser bet 90,000, Drinan shoved for a little over 240,000, and Cashloser called. Drinan showed A♦J♣ for jacks and eights, but Cashloser had 9♠8♠ for trips. The river was a nine, improving Cashloser to a full house, and Drinan was sent railward in eighth.

They pushed past the 10-hour mark, then came a hand that saw Seth "Setherson2" Davies open-shove for just over 108,000 (about nine big blinds) from the small blind, then Alex "MrKloutt" Casals called from the big blind. Davies had 9♥6♣ and needed to improve against Casals's K♦6♥, but the board missed Davies and he finished seventh.

A few minutes later Casals min-raised from the cutoff and LR-President called from the button, then a 4♠J♦8♦ flop got another bet from MrKloutt, an all-in shove for just over 150,000 from LR-President, and a call from Casals. MrKloutt showed K♥K♠ for a better pair than what LR-President had with J♠T♠, and two cards later the latter was out in sixth.

Shortly after that hand, ale6ka open-raised all in for just over 170,000 (a little more than 12 BBs) from UTG with A♠Q♦ and was called by Cashloser holding K♥3♦. A trey came among the community cards to give Cashloser a pair, and ale6ka was sent railward in fifth.

One hand later the tourney was paused for a deal discussion, with Cashloser the big leader with 1.58 million, silvasilva88 next with about 657,000, Alex "MrKloutt" Casals third with just over 452,000, and Georgios "GeoManousos" Sotiropoulos fourth with about 313,000.

"ICM"-based numbers were produced, leaving $8,000 for which to play, and while some were amenable, Sotiropoulos -- who won the Super Tuesday just over three months ago -- wanted more. Casals needed more as well, and after some discussion the other two were willing to negotiate. The deal being made, play resumed once more.

Before they'd reach the tourney's 11-hour mark, two more would fall.

First it would be Georgios "GeoManousos" Sotiropoulos four-bet shoving with T♠T♥ and getting called by Alex "MrKloutt" Casals who held Q♠Q♣. The board rolled out 8♣J♠5♠J♣A♠, and Sotiropoulos had a fourth-place finish to put next to his previous Super Tuesday win.

Then silvasilva88 open-pushed a stack of just over 11 BBs with K♣T♣, got called by Casals who had A♦3♥, and after the board came Q♣J♦7♦5♦8♦ to give Casals a flush, they were down to two.

With that hand Casals and Cashloser were nearly even to begin heads-up play as MrKloutt had almost 1.52 million and Cashloser a little over 1.49 million. It appeared initially the duel may well go for some time, as each had more than 90 BBs. But it would only take three hands more to decide the tournament.

The final hand started with Casals opening with a 2x raise to 32,000 from the button. Cashloser then shoved all in, and having his opponent barely covered, Casals called.

Cashloser: A♦8♥
MrKloutt: A♠7♦

Both had an ace, with Cashloser holding the better kicker. A K♠Q♥T♦ flop then increased the likelihood of a chop between the pair, but the 7♣ turn put Casals in the lead. The river was the 6♥ and it was suddenly over -- Casals was this week's Super Tuesday champion.

Congratulations to Alex "MrKloutt" Casals for topping another big and challenging Super Tuesday field to earn the victory, and kudos as well to all four of those making it to the deal to ensure themselves handsome paydays.
