Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion rolls to 7/28/15 Super Tuesday win

Now that the busy summer has finally wound down, the Super Tuesday saw a big jump in the number of participants tonight as players resumed their usual Tuesday night habits with 533 taking part in the weekly $1,050 no-limit hold'em tournament.

The final table featured a number of top players, among them Tim "tamiam122" Cramer, Keith "Kungfumonk" Johnson, Sam "buckguy2200" Phillips, and Ihar "OMGitshunt" Soika. Prevailing over all of them, however, was Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion of the United Kingdom, who in a little over 10-and-a-half hours walked away with all of the chips and the biggest share of $533,000 prize pool, earning a $101,270 for the victory.

It took nearly six hours for that big field to play down to just 64 players and hand-for-hand play to begin. That's when Lord$tylin pushed all in for just over a single big blind from late position with A♦K♥ and was called by both players in the blinds, nnhheeoo (small) and Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion (big).

The board came 5♥6♦T♦2♣4♣, and when Concepcion bet the river, nnhheeoo folded while showing a six. Lord$tylin tabled that big slick, but Concepcion's straight-making J♦3♠ was best, sending Lord$tylin out one spot shy of the cash and perhaps foreshadowing more good things to come for the U.K. player as the night wore on.

With 63 players left, leader Niklas "Lena900" Astedt had almost 145,000, at the time almost 40,000 ahead of the nearest challenger. But before they'd reach the seven-hour mark, Astedt would slip down the leaderboard to finish in 38th for a $2,665 cash.

Not too long after that they were down to 18, with JMDA Y SALO having become the new chip leader with several other players bunched near the top.

Kyle "kylef89″ Frey (18th) and Pascal "Päffchen" Hartmann (17th) were the next to be eliminated, then like Astedt before JMDA Y SALO took a tumble to go out in 16th, with those three each earning $4,264.

Alex "J0hnny_Dr@m@" Zervos (15th), bartek901 (14th), and Creatiff111 (13th) were the next to fall, earning $5,330 each. Then MAZACAR1E (12th), Ryan "HITTHEPANDA" Franklin (11th), and Ben "F3nix35" Dobson (10th) each successively hit the rail, picking up $6,396 for their efforts.

Dobson's knockout came on the last hand before the nine-hour break, and after a five-minute pause the final table began with Tim "tamiam122" Cramer leading with over 670,000 and Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion next in line with a bit more than 605,000.

Seat 1: Tim "tamiam122" Cramer (Mexico) -- 673,154
Seat 2: State$$Tree (Cote d'Ivoire) -- 165,524
Seat 3: Keith "Kungfumonk" Johnson (United Kingdom) -- 280,700
Seat 4: Sam "buckguy2200" Phillips (Mexico) -- 135,980
Seat 5: marlin5555 (Canada) -- 94,883
Seat 6: TingTing821 (United Kingdom) -- 282,904
Seat 7: Ihar "OMGitshunt" Soika (Belarus) -- 139,096
Seat 8: Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion (United Kingdom) -- 605,621
Seat 9: Spowi07 (Austria) -- 287,138

A little more than 10 minutes into the final table, marlin5555 open-shoved from the button for almost 75,000 (a little over nine big blinds) with K♦T♣, Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion called from the big blind with T♠T♥, and after a 3♠A♠5♠7♣4♦ runout marlin5555 had been caught in ninth.

Just three hands after that came an OMG-vs.-OMG confrontation as EPT11 Barcelona High Roller champion Ihar "OMGitshunt" Soika open-raised all in for almost 180,000 from the cutoff, Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion reraise-pushed from the button, and the blinds stepped aside.

OMGitshunt: K♣Q♣
OMGjonyctt: A♥K♦

The community cards came 3♥7♠8♠2♥A♠, and OMGitshunt was shot down in eighth.

The blinds increased to 6,000/12,000, then a hand arose in which Sam "buckguy2200" Phillips open-shoved from the button for just over 170,000, then TingTing821 reraised for just a little more from the small blind and Concepcion folded the big blind.

TingTing821 had Q♥Q♣ while Phillips had A♠Q♦, then the case queen showed up on the 6♠4♠Q♠ flop to give TingTing821 a set though Phillips was still live with a flush draw. The turn was the 3♦ and river the 3♣, however, and buckguy2200 was bucked off in seventh.

A little later they were approaching the tourney's next break when Tim "tamiam122" Cramer min-raised to 24,000 from the button, State$$Tree reraised all in from the small blind for 83,045, and Cramer called. State$$Tree showed A♦8♥ while Cramer had Q♦6♠. The 3♦2♣Q♠ flop put tamiam122 in front, then the Q♥ turn made the river no matter as State$$Tree was chopped down in sixth.

The break meant the tournament was 10 hours old and they'd played exactly one hour at the final table, with Concepcion by then enjoying a commanding lead with over 1.35 million while Cramer was the nearest challenger with a little under half that amount.

A few minutes later Keith "Kungfumonk" Johnson min-raised to 28,000 from the cutoff, Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion reraise-shoved that leading stack from the small blind, and Johnson called all in with the 242,875 behind.

It was Q♠Q♦ for Johnson and A♥4♣ for Concepcion, and after the 5♦4♠3♠ flop and 5♣ turn Johnson's queens were still best. But the 2♣ fell on fifth street, making a wheel for Concepcion and kicking Kungfumonk out in fifth.

About five minutes later TingTing821 raised all in from the button for nearly 160,000 (about 12 BBs) and got a caller in Spowi07 from the big blind. TingTing821 showed K♥J♠ while Spowi07 had A♠T♥. The 4♣3♣T♣2♦5♦ board made another five-high straight for the winner, and TingTing821 was rung out in fourth.

Three-handed play went on for a while until finally a hand came in which Tim "tamian122" Cramer opened with an all-in push from the button for 193,486 (just over 12 BBs) with A♠7♠ and Spowi07 called from the big blind with 5♥5♠. The 7♥J♦J♥ flop put Cramer ahead, but the 5♦ fell on fourth to give Spowi07 the lead. The river was the A♦, and tamiam122 had been tamed in third.

That pot pushed Spowi07 up to 928,549 to start heads-up play, a bit more than half the total of Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion's 1,736,451.

They played a half-dozen hands during which Concepcion pushed Spowi07 down under 620,000, then with the blinds 9,000/18,000 Concepcion rasied to 43,020 from the button, Spowi07 called, and they saw a flop come 8♣6♠5♣. Both checked, then after the 8♥ turn Spowi07 checked again. This time Concepcion bet 32,605, then Spowi07 check-raised to 117,000 and Concepcion called.

The river was the J♣. Spowi07 led for 153,000, Concepcion shoved all in as a raise, and Spowi07 called with the 302,379 left behind.

OMGjonyctt: A♣2♣ -- ace-high flush
Spowi07: 9♦8♠ -- three eights

Spowi07 had turned trips, but Concepcion had made a flush on the river to win the pot and the tournament.

Congratulations to Jonathan "OMGjonyctt" Concepcion for beating a big field and tough final table to earn this week's Super Tuesday title and another handsome six-figure payday after his WCOOP win in 2013 in a $1,050 event worth $216K.
