Score one for the Dutch: Dutchvinny wins Sunday Warm-Up

sunday-warmup-thumb.jpgWe're sure the final nine people playing the Sunday Warm-up tonight got their good luck kisses from mom before sitting down for over eight hours to get to the big money. With first prize sitting at $117,750.00 it would a long way towards giving mom a Mother's Day present aside from the usual potted plant from the local grocery store.

3,447 runners tonight meant PokerStars was footing the bill to attain the $750,000 guaranteed prize pool and assure the field at least one six-figure winner (unless of course they chop it up...). If you have not checked out the Sunday Warm-up Online Poker Show here at PokerStarsBlog, here's last week's edition:

Tonight's final table action started after 7722ds failed to slide pocket queens Q♥Q♦ past final table chip leader Iftarii's 2♠ A♥ when a tournament crushing ace hit the river on this board J♦ K♥ 9♦ J♠ A♣ to start up the final nine shown below:

Seat 1: Iftarii (11507963 in chips)
Seat 2: Jan2000 (3281704 in chips)
Seat 3: gettn deep (2500220 in chips)
Seat 4: JBlaze20 (2115762 in chips)
Seat 5: FrandsenDK (4613818 in chips)
Seat 6: ggdj (1218168 in chips)
Seat 7: Dutchvinny (3490258 in chips)
Seat 8: rd4aces (4597771 in chips)
Seat 9: wastar$ (1144336 in chips)

gettn deep got a little deeper tonight after calling ggdj's 913,168 chip shove from middle position in the big blind. Big slick K♠A♠ for gettn deep and ggdj was looking for a jack holding J♠ A♦. ggdj would find a jack on the flop, but sadly a king was nestled right next to it as the board ran out J♦ K♥ 8♥ 9♦ 5♣ in favor of gettn deep for the two million chip pot. Ninth place and a straight six thousand dollars were shipped for ggdj's effort tonight.

Shortly after ggdj's departure, JBlaze20 and wastar$ would enjoy double-ups. Then gettn deep knocked down a few towers of Iftarii's chips when pocket tens T♦ T♠ were no match for gettn deep's pocket kings K♠ K♣, and after the board showed kings full of nines nearly seven million chips went in the direction of gettn deep's pretty puppy avatar.

With blinds at 80,000/160,000 ante 16,000 the action folded around to wastar$ in the cutoff sitting on 1.6 million chips and holding pocket eights 8♠ 8♦. A shove was the play, and might have worked for the blinds, but Jan2000 was going nowhere with pocket jacks J♥ J♣. After the 5♣ 4♣ T♣ flop wastar$ outs went from slim to slimmer, and the K♣ on the turn sealed the eighth place finisher's fate when Jan2000 hit a four card flush earning $9,375.00 tonight.

Chop talks started up over the break after the latest bust out but FrandsenDK squashed the talks and paid the price to the chop karma gods as shown in the hand below against JBlaze20:

After losing the coin flip FrandsenDK got the stated seventh place of $16,875.00 that was requested.

JBlaze20 was not done there as a five million chip pot went in the same direction five hands later trimming even more chips off the chip leader Iftarii. Then, while the six players were ready to discuss chip chop numbers, JBlaze20 and rd4aces got their chip stacks into the middle preflop after trading preflop raises back and forth with blinds at 100,000/200,000 ante 20,000:

JBlaze20: Q♠ A♠
rd4aces: A♦ K♦

Both players held sparkly suited cards but big slick was well ahead until the Q♥ hit the all-heart flop and the rest of the Q♥ 2♥ 5♥ 5♠ 9♣ board played out without reversal. rd4aces didn't get the king, but did receive $24,375.00 to pick up mom that Honda Prelude with Bose sound system and running neon lights she always wanted.

The players decided to take a look at the chop numbers but quickly went back to work now that JBlaze20's stack doubled the rest of the table and JBlaze20's slice of the pie was too much for them to eat. Dutchvinny got to work right away after the game resumed and doubled up off Jan2000 when the flop granted a straight to Dutchvinny's 9♣Q♣ and overcame Jan2000's K♥ A♦ for the third consecutive five million plus chip pot.

Iftarii fell into hard times starting with picking off a blind versus blind bluff from Dutchvinny. Holding K♥T♦ Iftarii would make the call of Dutchvinny's small blind shove covering by 1.6 million. Dutchvinny exposed 2♠Q♣ and Iftarii had sights of the five million chip pot being shipped in a northern direction, but the winds of the board blew to the west when the board 3♣ 7♦ 7♥ 7♣ 2♥ showed that two on the river. The very next hand Iftarii would attempt to use the power of deuce-queen against Jan2000 but this time the better hand 5♠ A♦ would hold on the 7♥ 6♠ 5♣ K♣ 6♦ board and Iftarii's starting big stack would have to settle for fifth place ($31,875.00).

Dutchvinny would win a race against JBlaze20 and even up the chip counts a bit, but the players did not return to the negotiation tables with the four-handed stacks showing below:

Seat 2: Jan2000 (11338640 in chips)
Seat 3: gettn deep (7110776 in chips)
Seat 4: JBlaze20 (7767448 in chips)
Seat 7: Dutchvinny (8253136 in chips)

But after thirteen more hands of four-handed play, the four horsemen of the final table attempted to ride into a chop agreement again. After Jan2000 agreed to trim a little off the quoted price from StaffMikeJ for JBlaze20 and gettn deep we had a deal!
Jan2000: $84,309.00
Dutchvinny: $72,259.00
JBlaze20: $73,512.00
gettn deep: $70,418.00

No six figure winner tonight, but there would be a small matter of $10,000.00 left aside for this week's Sunday Warm-up champion and maybe a round trip ticket to Maui for mom.

Jan2000's stack would take a decent whack from Dutchvinny after getting tens into the middle against Dutchvinny's pocket jacks. Then, after three consecutive wins by Dutchvinny, Jan2000 would get the 3.7 million leftover chips into the middle preflop once again against Dutchvinny in this hand:

The quad aces were a bit of overkill, but effectively ended Jan2000's night in fourth place ($84,309.00).

Call it a streak or being a card rack but Dutchvinny already holding nearly four times the amount of second place gettn deep would knock out JBlaze20 in third place. Raising from the button to 750,000 Dutchvinny faced a 2.1 million chip three-bet from JBlaze20 sitting in the small blind. Holding A♥ K♠ and 16 million chips behind made the decision easy to push JBlaze20 all-in. JBlaze20 did not get a race with the K♥Q♦ in his hand, and after the K♣ 4♥ 5♠ 3♠ 8♣ board ran off, JBlaze20 went down in glory with the chopped third place money ($73,512.00).

To gettn deep's credit heads-up play started with large blinds set at 150,000/300,000 ante 30,000 and Dutchvinny sitting on a sizable chip lead shown below:

Seat 3: gettn deep (5940776 in chips)
Seat 7: Dutchvinny (28529224 in chips)

The battle would last approximately twenty hands before this dirty little river sent a big pile of chips flying in someone's direction:

Dutchvinny's inside straight and flush draw got there with the rivered 8♦, and Dutchvinny got the title of Sunday Warm-up champion and the extra $10,000 set aside from the deal. gettn deep got as deep as one could possible hope for in a MTT field of 3,447 players, and will reap the rewards from the deal as tonight's runner-up ($70,418.00).

Congrats to Dutchvinny on a well-earned victory and to all of our final table players tonight, as stated above please check out the Sunday Warm-up Online Poker Show at PokerStars.TV for the replay.
