Sunday Warm-Up: _JMCD_89 stops Timorm1 in claiming $98K and the win

Tonight's $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up was about watching Timorm1 plow through the final table like my kids seeing a freshly baked rack of chocolate chip cookies over at nana's house. The chip leader could do no wrong until the heads-up match against _JMCD_89 as the TCOOP champ put an end to the domination winning this week's Sunday Warm-up and $98,064.51.

Eight hours and 45 into the Sunday Warm-up the population of the Sunday Major would go from 3,123 to just 18 players. Make that 17 remaining as sexysmith579 would knockout Sunday Kickoff champ Mrcaimann in 18th place ($1,967.49). Romania's vladislavius would shortly follow Mrcaimann out the door.

Past the ninth hourly break with blinds up to 50K/100K ante 10K DonBartos would put the brakes on Table 44 with a full two and half minute "tank". Holding just 508,641 in the cutoff before the hand, DonBartos would raise to 400,000 as Timorm1 made the call from the button. After the J♦8♥6♠ flop DonBartos claimed a need for the restroom and let the timer clock wine down to near zero before shoving 98,641 into the pot. Timorm1 snap called with top set J♣J♠ as DonBartos watched 5♥A♣ fade on the 5♠ turn and 3♥ river to claim $2,904.39 in 13th place.

After ZiFFFF took home $3,841.29 in 12th place, Timorm1 and recent Super Tuesday final tablist vadermike777 would both shove preflop with big hands for a big pot. With the blinds up to 65K/130K ante 13K Timorm1 holding pocket queens Q♠Q♥ squared off against vadermike777's big slick K♣A♠ for 6.1 million chips and the chip lead. A lady in the door Q♦ 8♦ 7♣ K♦ T♣ and vadermike777 was no more as the tournament moved into hand-for-hand play.

Four hands prior to the final table bubble bursting michalisL7 would double up nelsonal in a 3.1 million chip pot. Then, as the blinds moved up to 80K/160K ante 16K nelsonal was not kind enough to return the favor. Holding 1.2 million chips and K♦Q♠ michalisL7 would shove from the small blind as nelsonal made the call from the big blind holding A♠J♣. An ace on the flop 6♣ 4♦ A♥ Q♦ 5♠ would seal michalisL7 fate in 10th place starting up the final table below:

It has been awhile

nyc_bullets has two major final tables here at PokerStars reaching the last table in SCOOP 2010 and WCOOP 2010. Tonight would mark another one for nyc_bullets after hitting the final nine but unfortunately going no further. With the blinds moving up to 100K/200K ante 20K and one hand before the tenth hourly break Timorm1 would min-raise from early position as nyc_bullets shoved from the cutoff for 1.6 million holding Q♠A♣. Excellent spot for a double-up as Timorm1 called and showed the lower kicker 8♦A♠. The kicker problems went away by the turn after notching a straight T♣ 9♦ 7♥ 6♥ J♥ giving nyc_bullets $4,996.80 in ninth place.

Timorm1 wins from behind again

Sometimes it is just your night. And so far just 15 minutes into the final table, it looks like Timorm1's special night. With the blinds holding at 100K/200K ante 20K Timorm1 would lead for a min-raise as it folded to mezzias who was hoping to improve on a fifth place finish in the Sunday Warm-Up back in January 2013 mezzias would shove for 1.79 million holding big slick K♥A♥. Timorm1 made the call with kicker issues again A♦T♦, but this time the suits mattered as three more diamonds hit the flop 6♦ Q♦ J♦ K♣ A♣ giving Timorm1 the nut flush and mezzias an early exit in eighth place ($7,807.50).

The next episode of the Timorm1 show

Still within the 100K/200K ante 20K blind level Timorm1 wanted to introduce yet another player to the door. Same as the other hands as Timorm1 led out with a min-raise and this time U_2GOOD4_M3 would test the chip leader with a shove for 2.49 million from the cutoff holding Q♣A♦. Ace-queen did not work for nyc_bullets and it would not work here as Timorm1 called with pocket tens T♠T♦ that cleared the 8♠ 7♦ 9♠ 5♦ 4♣ board earning $14,053.50 for U_2GOOD4_M3 in seventh place.

Finally someone else gets involved

So far the Timorm1 show has been the story for the final table. Then as the blinds moved up to 125K/250K ante 25K _JMCD_89 and easylimp decided to dive in together preflop to create this 3.4 million chip pot below:

_JMCD_89's big slick A♦K♦ would hold against easylimp's A♣Q♠ on the 2♠ 6♠ J♠ 6♥ 4♣ board shipping easylimp $20,299.50 in sixth place. Far cry from easylimp's victory in the Super Tuesday three weeks ago earning $129K in the process.

More Timorm1, less players

Timorm1 made short work of this final table thus far with three of the first four eliminations. Make that four out of five with the blinds holding at 125K/250K ante 25K nelsonal would raise to 1.75 million as it folded around to Timorm1 in the big blind who three-bet to 3.25 million. This would put nelsonal all-in, and the Brazilian would make the call holding pocket jacks J♥J♣. Still not out of run-good, Timorm1's A♣Q♥ would flop an ace 2♥ 2♣ A♠ K♣ 5♣ ending nelsonal's night in fifth place ($26,739.12).

_JMCD_89 jumps in again

_JMCD_89 the TCOOP 2012 Event #8 champ, went looking for a second Major title tonight as the blinds held at 125K/250K ante 25K with a min-raise from the button as sexysmith579 shoved 1.59 million from the big blind holding A♠8♣. _JMCD_89 had six million behind and A♦J♠ to make the call. A safe board for the jack kicker 6♥ 6♦ A♥ 2♣ 9♠ earned sexysmith579 $35,914.50 in fourth place.

Timorm1 wants the title

Sunday Warm-Up champion has a good ring to it, and Timorm1 would try add this phrase by knocking out the fifth opponent during the 150K/300K ante 30K level. tutull would shove from the button as Timorm1 made the call on the small button holding A♥8♥. This time Timorm1 would be playing while ahead as tutull flipped up A♣2♥ and this time the board would favor the higher kicker 4♣ T♣ 6♥ 9♥ Q♠ as tutull's tournament ended in third place ($51,841.80).

Stopping the bulldozer

_JMCD_89 had no intentions on rolling over for Timorm1 as seen on the first hand of heads-up play taking a 9.6 million chip pot and the chip lead 17.4 million to 13.7 million. Timorm1 would fight back to even up the score but in a six hand stretch _JMDC_89 would ratchet up the lead to 22.6 million to 8.5 million.

Seven minutes later with the blinds up to 200K/400K ante 40K and the lead extended to 25.4 million to 5.7 million, Timorm1 made one last attempt to reclaim a footing on the title in this hand below:

T♣8♣ for Timorm1 would be flipping against _JMCD_89's pocket fives 5♠5♥. Despite adding some outs on the flop 7♣ J♥ 6♦ Q♠ 7♠ _JMCD_89 would take down this week's Sunday Warm-Up earning $98,064.51!
