Sunday Warm-Up: SCOOP champ happyfister pounds final table for $79K win

With the lead up to the 2014 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), champions of the other major tournament series are making their marks and padding those bankrolls for a run at a bracelet. For example, tonight's $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up final table held a MicroMillions champ, a SCOOP champ, and someone making back-to-back Sunday Warm-Up final table appearances. After over ten hours of intense play, it would be the SCOOP champ happyfister taking down the title after a three-way deal earning $79,000.00 for the win.

A short time into the eighth hour of play and down to the final 18 players, P0KERDUUDE was looking for a return to the Sunday Warm-Up final table. The MicroMillions champ last visit here in November ended with a fourth place finish winning $42K and looking to improve that ending tonight.

P0KERDUUDE was not the only major tournament winner left before the final table as the field decreased to 13 players left with ten minutes to go until the ninth hourly break. Germany's happyfister claimed a SCOOP watch after winning Event #19-H in 2010 for $133K. All 13 would safely slide into the five minute time-out with thoughts of taking away the $87,727.50 up top.

With blinds at 50K/100K ante 10K yangyongwbw's shortstack shove with 8♠J♣ would help strengthen 7ei7ka's chances at back-to-back Sunday Warm-Up final tables. After banking $24K last week in fifth place, 7ei7ka would call the extra 222,954 chips from the big blind holding K♦3♥. A king on the flop was enough T♥ K♥ 2♦ 4♥ 2♠ to end yangyongwbw's run in 13th place ($3,481.25).

12 minutes later and down to hand-for-hand play with the blinds moving up to 65K/130K ante 13K, Anao19 would apply pressure from the small blind by open shoving for 2.1 million. Chaesi made the call from the big blind holding a suited king 9♥K♥ and only 778,644 chips behind. Facing Anao19's Q♣6♣ Chaesi's king-high looked good until a lady fell on the river 4♦ 5♣ 8♥ 5♠ Q♥ to start up the final table below:

Seat 1: a Bull 67 (2901300 in chips)
Seat 2: Medizinball (5249043 in chips)
Seat 3: kaneoya (2268096 in chips)
Seat 4: 7ei7ka (3043810 in chips)
Seat 5: MaybeGh (2286798 in chips)
Seat 6: ph1shman420 (3133100 in chips)
Seat 7: P0KERDUUDE (3110285 in chips)
Seat 8: happyfister (2744172 in chips)
Seat 9: Anao19 (3113396 in chips)

Maybe playing a better tune

Just a few hands into the final nine one participant would be regulated to playing a different table. With the blinds still at 65K/130K ante 13K a Bull 67 would min-raise from middle position as it folded around to MaybeGh who shoved 1.9 million from the small blind. Not to be outdone ph1shman420 shoved a little more getting a Bull 67 to leave that raise in the middle. MaybeGh showed big slick K♦A♥ but ph1shman420 had a little more flipping up kings K♣K♠. Zero aces on the 7♥ 6♦ 8♣ 9♠ 9♣ board left no doubt that MaybeGh was the ninth place finisher ($4,734.50).

SCOOP champ > MicroMillions champ

As previously mentioned both happyfister and P0KERDUUDE have already claimed tournament series victories here at PokerStars. With the blinds moving up to 80K/160K ante 16K they would clash for a sizable 6.5 million pre-flop pot. kaneoya would min-raise from early position as P0KERDUUDE pushed all-in for 2.9 million and happyfister went a further by shoving 5.1 million. kaneoya abandoned ship as P0KERDUUDE showed pocket tens T♠T♥ only to be topped by happyfister's jacks J♠J♥. After an all-low 7♦ 4♠ 2♥ 5♣ 3♣ board the SCOOP champ showed the MicroMillions champ to the door in eighth place ($7,530.64).

Trying to move up

With the blinds moving up to 100K/200K ante 20K Ana019 was not going out quietly and open shoved 1.91 million from the cutoff seat as it folded to kaneoya holding 1.44 million and pocket eights 8♦8♣ in the big blind. kaneoya needing chips to continue made the call all-in and dominated Anao19's A♥8♥ for about three seconds. Two aces on the A♠ 7♣ 6♥ A♣ 4♥ board would send kaneoya away in seventh place ($13,089.50).

No longer Bouncing Around the Room

Four hands before the tenth hourly break with the blinds still at 100K/200K ante 20K the tournament would bid one more player adieu. a Bull 67 would waltz in with a min-raise from the cutoff as ph1shman420 shoved for 1.84 million from the big blind. Holding A♥T♥ a Bull 67 made the call as ph1shman420 showed J♣K♥. A unnecessary ten on the river 5♦ 5♣ 4♦ 8♥ T♠ would seal up the 3.9 million chip pot as ph1shman420 was smoked in sixth place ($18,659.50).

Fear the deuce

A few minutes after the restart and one hand before a blinds increase, Medizinball would get dropped by a deuce. a Bull 67 on a charge after knocking out ph1shman420 would use the weight of 5.6 million chips to squeeze Medizinball in the big blind. Instead Medizinball's 2.3 million chips woke up with A♦Q♣ and made the call. a Bull 67's A♥2♦ found another deuce in the door 2♥ T♠ 9♥ 9♦ J♥ outflopping Medizinball and shipping $24,299.50 to the German in fifth place.

Still happy

happyfister has 6.5 million reasons to smile after this hand. With the blinds moving up to 125K/250K ante 25K happyfister led for a min-raise from the cutoff as Anao19 shoved 3.02 million from the button. happyfister hope K♥J♣ was enough and made the call. Anao19 revealed the dominated hand J♠Q♥ which would be the PlatinumStar's last as no jacks turned up on the 9♥ 4♥ 3♥ 6♣ T♦ board. Despite the loss, $32,027.50 would arrive in Anao19's bankroll for finishing fourth tonight.

Three-way deal

Back-to-back final tables for 7ei7ka and a SCOOP champion looking to add a Sunday Major title wanted to get the final three money spots situated before continuing. a Bull 67 asked for a little more cash and got it as the threesome came to the below agreement leaving $10K for the winner:

happyfister: $69,000.00
7ei7ka: $60,963.00
a Bull 67: $60,000.00

Everyone in a big hurry to leave

After the 12 minute pause for the deal it would take just eight hands to name our weekly champion. 7ei7ka would strike first doubling through a Bull 67 after flopping two pair with 5♦6♦ and getting paid off by a Bull 67's pocket kings K♣K♦ on the 6♠ 5♠ Q♣ 4♠ T♠ board.

But, on the next hand chipleader happyfister and 7ei7ka would spar pre-flop with several raises until 7ei7ka's 10 million newly acquired chips sat in the middle holding pocket sixes 6♣6♥. happyfister was pleased to show pocket nines 9♥9♠ and more pleased when the 4♣ 5♦ Q♦ T♠ 3♥ did not spit out a six denying 7ei7ka of the Sunday Warm-up title in third place ($60,963.00)

Four hands later with a Bull 67 down to just 2.3 million decided to go with Q♠7♥ after happyfister pressured with a shove from the button. The SCOOP champ turned over another dominating hand Q♦8♣ which locked up the win with a turned eight 5♣ J♣ K♣ 8♦ 3♥ earning happyfister the extra $10,000 and this week's Sunday Warm-Up title!
