Sunday Warm-Up: EvnomiYa owns the night winning $79K

A little extra sweetness was injected into the Sunday Warm-Up. A guarantee boost from $400,000 to $425,000 encouraged enough players to drive the prize pool to $505,200.00. The game would also last little longer, but that was not a problem for the weekly champ EvnomiYa. With previous final tables in the WCOOP and Super Tuesday this year, the $79,822.00 Sunday Warm-Up victory was the icing on the cake for EvnomiYa

Despite the uptick in participants from the previous week (likely from the bump in the guarantee to $425,000), hand-for-hand play would break out before the ninth hour of play. Mostly due to the quick eliminations once the tournament reached the penultimate table.

Among the causalities during this time, TISOO1709 recently notched a WCOOP final table in Event #31 earning $63K. That streak would not continue here as TISOO1709 earned a little bit less in 16th place ($1,869.24).

RagAAAila19 was striving for a second Sunday Warm-Up final table in October after earning $27K in fourth place two weeks ago. Rybunia's Q♠T♦ on the 9♣ 9♠ 4♥ Q♥ 2♥ board would make sure ragAAAila19's 8♦K♣ would not advance again in 15th place ($2,576.52).

After the ninth hourly break NeverFoldYou would open shove 1.1 million from the small blind. With the blinds at 40K/80K ante 8K yurasov1990, the present chip leader, held 5.5 million chips and made the call with A♥6♦. NeverFoldYou held the chip lead with two tables left, but would sit this one out after T♥K♦ failed to connect on the 3♠ 8♥ 2♥ J♦ 6♣ board to start up the final table below:

No matter how many times a player watches a two-outer hit the river, the sting is usually personally felt from losing in a similar fashion at a previous time. Ten minutes from the start of the hour with the blinds moving up to 50K/100K ante 10K Wombatox would min-raise UTG as rybunia shoved 1.2 million from middle position. Wombatox quickly called with queens Q♦Q♥ as rybunia turned over kings K♥K♠. As mentioned the preflop advantage would not last 2♣ 4♦ 7♦ J♠ Q♠ and rybunia earned $4,294.20 in ninth place.

Near the mid-way point of the ninth hour EmielsonNL took a shot with a 1.5 million chip shove from middle position. The hand folded around to EvnomiYa in the big blind who called with jacks J♥J♣. This time the two-outer would evade the river 2♥ Q♠ 3♠ 7♥ 8♠ as EmielsonNL took away $7,325.40 in eighth place. A tad less than the $132K score EmielsonNL earned as the Sunday Million runner-up last month.

Every player has their own dream playing this game. A WCOOP bracelet? Winning an EPT tour event? Or perhaps reaching a four figure bankroll after starting with nothing but a log-on name. DreamOnDream was looking for a second Sunday Warm-Up win and put that chance at risk shoving with T♣A♥. However, virvuserdtse was waiting with aces A♦A♣ and promptly escorted the former champ out A♠ Q♠ 4♦ 2♠ 6♠ in seventh place ($12,377.40).

Shortly after the tenth hourly break with the blinds up to 100K/200K ante 20K EvnomiYa would start off with a min-raise as lesik1979 shoved for 1.2 million. Holding a couple of hearts 3♥K♥ EvnomiYa made the call squarely behind lesik1979's Q♠A♦. But, too many wheel cards on the A♣ J♦ 4♥ 5♦ 2♥ board would send lesik1979 off in sixth place ($17,429.40).

Two hands later, EvnomiYa looked for more. Again, starting off with a min-raise, EvnomiYa would face another shove. This time the stakes were higher as virvuserdtse shoved for 2.5 million. Unlike the last hand, EvnomiYa would call with the better hand showing A♥8♥ versus virvuserdtse's 3♥A♦. Despite the two wheel cards on the flop 2♦ 4♥ K♠ 8♠ J♥ virvuserdtse would settle for fifth place ($22,481.40).

EvnomiYa's end game was set for destruction of anything getting in the way of a $79,822.00 victory. With the blinds moving up to 150K/300K ante 30K EvnomiYa would shove the chip leading stack from the cutoff as oliva86d called from the button with the second largest stack (5.86M) with A♠J♥. A race against EvnomiYa's pocket fives 5♠5♦ would end 7♠ 6♥ 6♠ 2♣ Q♦ with oliva86d earning $29,554.20 in fourth place.

On the next hand Wombatox would set up heads-up play. Yurasov1990 would shove from the button holding 6♣A♣. Wombatox held a better kicker 8♦A♥, and more importantly, more chips while re-shoving for slightly more. Yurasov1990 would bring the chip lead to the final table, but the final board 4♦ 9♥ 5♣ 8♥ 9♣ sent the former chip leader home receiving $42,942.00 in third place.

Two hands later EvnomiYa would take that chip lead right back doubling through Wombatox.

Our final two would have a quaint little chat during the 11th hourly break after Wombatox doubled-up to take a temporary chip lead. Due to the tournament economy changing EvnomiYa was willing to take a 50/50 chop. But, Wombatox feeling the rush of the moment and holding a decent lead (14.7 million to 10.5 million) declined to let this play out.

Bad choice for Wombatox's bankroll.

Eight more hands and with 8.3 million in the middle and the board showing 4♣ 3♦ A♥ 7♥ 6♠, EvnomiYa would get Wombatox to fold to a shove to take back the chip lead 19.6 million to 5.6 million.

Then with the blinds up to 250K/500K ante 50K Wombatox shoved from the button holding pocket treys 3♠3♥ as EvnomiYa made the call with9♥K♣. The threes would not survive the flop as EvnomiYa caught two pair 8♣ K♠ 9♠ J♦ 2♣ riding them to a $79,822.00 Sunday Warm-Up title!
