TCOOP: I'm in!

teampro-thumb.JPGI was very excited when I heard about TCOOP. Turbos are some of my favorite tournaments to play. There is a lot of action and decision-making involved. They also don't take all day, which I find very pleasant. The cool thing about a turbo tournament series is also that you get to play certain games in a turbo format. I have never played Pot-Limit Omaha rebuy turbo or a High Roller turbo, but I can't wait to see how it pans out.

Usually when playing turbos I try to play pretty tight at the start. The chips you gain from playing a lot of small pots aren't worth all that much in the later stages of the tournament, so it's less important to build than it is in regular tournaments. Later on in the midstages, I start playing more aggressive in late position to pick up the blinds a lot. It is crucial to pick your spots to do this, because you will get blinded down so quickly in turbos. In the end-stages it comes down to good timing and smart aggression. A lot of players who don't really want to get it in yet, get a little short, while others can build their stack.

I hope to see you all there.
