TCOOP: Mcolombo masters Event 27 ($22+R NLHE 2x-Turbo)

TCOOP logo.pngDouble turbo means levels of five minutes each. The rebuy portion of the tournament allows for more action, though, as the first mistake can be rectified with another buy-in. Add-ons at the end of the one-hour registration level also give players the option to pad their stacks going into the second hour of play, should they make it that far. It all turns into a bit of chaos, but, luckily, PokerStars has the organization part of it covered.

In its sixth day of turbo tournament madness, TCOOP offered Event 27 as a late-starting event with all of the aforementioned action. And when the number of rebuys extended to nearly twice the number of players registered for the tournament, it became pretty obvious that the players enjoyed the NLHE frenzy.

Without further ado, let's get to the tournament numbers for this $20 + $2 rebuy NLHE 2x-turbo event:

Players: 7,818
Rebuys: 15,365
Add-ons: 3,956
Prize pool: $542,780.00
Paid players: 990

Play moved quickly toward the money bubble, which burst past the two-hour mark when Sono Luminus exited in 991st place, making way for shefa1234 to become the first player in the money, walking away with $124.83 for 990th place.

There were more than a handful of players with Team PokerStars logos still in the field at that point, and Team Online's Shane "shaniac" Schleger was the first to cash in 761st place. Team Pro Johnny Lodden left in 645th place, followed by fellow Team Pro Marcin "Goral" Horecki in 520th, Team Online's Kristian "CharismA3" Martin in 257th, and Team Pro Andre "aakkari" Akkari in 203rd place. Finally, in 88th place, the last member of Team Online, Anders "Donald" Berg, took leave of the tournament in 88th place.

About 10 minutes past the four-hour mark of the tournament, there were two tables remaining. Action quickly moved toward the final table, and the eliminations of Dotsch in 12th place and bleu329 in tenth brought about hand-for-hand play.

It took only moments for X-ypenizer-X to push all-in and original raiser Mcolombo to call. X-ypenizer-X was at risk with K♥J♠, and Mcolombo showed 5♦5♥, which turned into quads on the 5♣A♣9♠T♣5♠ board. X-ypenizer-X departed in tenth place with $3,039.56.

Ozzyrocks111 rolls into chip lead at final table

With blinds at 200,000/400,000 and a 50,000 ante in Level 46, the final table got underway with these initial chip counts:

Seat 1: kidious23 (3,988,182 in chips)
Seat 2: bally29 (3,718,291 in chips)
Seat 3: antifulltilt (15,658,837 in chips)
Seat 4: arron8 (7,157,847 in chips)
Seat 5: Jamie_KK (12,392,074 in chips)
Seat 6: ozzyrocks111 (20,327,339 in chips)
Seat 7: VicksMyDawg (2,622,728 in chips)
Seat 8: wolf0008_ps (1,602,888 in chips)
Seat 9: Mcolombo (18,457,814 in chips)

On the second hand of the final table, kidious23 moved all-in from early position. Aaron8 reraised all-in from middle position, and everyone else folded. Arron8 had Q♦Q♥ to dominate the 8♠8♥ of kidious23. Nothing changed with the 5♦9♦J♠2♦6♥ board, so kidious23 had to leave in ninth place with $4,206.54.

The very next hand saw VicksMyDawg make the all-in push from the button, and Mcolombo called from the big blind with T♦9♠. VicksMyDawg turned over K♣6♣, but that king couldn't hold up to the 5♦4♥J♦7♠9♣, which paired the nines on the river. VicksMyDawg was helped off the field in eighth place with $6,513.36.

Another action hand started when antifulltilt raised preflop, and wolf0008 pushed all-in from the big blind. Antifulltilt called 721K more with 5♣5♦, and wolf0008 was on the line with A♠8♦. Wolf0008 took the lead on the J♠A♣T♣ flop, but antifulltilt made a set on the 5♠ turn. The 9♦ on the river eliminated wolf0008 in seventh place with $11,941.16.

Shortly after, bally29 moved all-in with A♠4♦, and ozzyrocks111 called with 7♦7♥. The board of 5♥K♣9♠T♥7♠ only improved the hand of ozzyrocks111 and sent bally29 to the rail in sixth place with $17,368.96.

Mcolombo moves into solid first

Ozzyrocks111 had fallen from the early lead, and then Mcolombo challenged ozzyrocks111 to a duel. The two raised and reraised to see the 4♣7♠6♠ flop. A bet from Mcolombo and call from ozzyrocks111 brought the A♦ on the turn. When Mcolombo bet again, ozzyrocks111 moved all-in with A♠9♠ for top pair and the flush draw, and Mcolombo called with 6♥4♥ for the flopped two pair. The 2♦ on the river ended the run for ozzyrocks111, who left in fifth place with $22,796.76.

That 39.6 million-chip pot put Mcolombo in a dominating lead over the rest of the table.

A few hands later, Jamie_KK pushed all-in for just less than 7 million chips, and Mcolombo reraised preflop to induce folds, which worked. Jamie_KK showed J♠4♠, but T♥T♣ for the advantage. The board came 4♣3♠2♠7♣7♦, and Mcolombo scooped another pot while Jamie_KK departed in fourth place with $29,852.90.

Antifulltilt was the first to act and pushed all-in. Arron8 followed by calling all-in, and Mcolombo called both players.

Mcolombo: 2♠2♣
antifulltilt: A♠4♦
arron8: A♦8♠

The board dramatically produced 4♠A♥J♦3♥5♣ to give Mcolombo the straight. Arron8 took third place and $43,422.40, and antifulltilt took second place and $61,062.75.

Mcolombo of Brazil took the TCOOP Event 27 title and $82,562.18 in cash. Congrats!
