TCOOP 2015: ZLastEmperor divides and conquers Event #46 ($215, Ultra-Deep)

Last year's TCOOP Event #46 featured a turbo-version of the Sunday Warm-Up won by ninototoroko. This year ultra-deep stacks of 50,000 chips (instead of the usual 5,000) were placed in front of 4,088 players. Much like making a tall castle from racks of dollar chips, those deep-stacks looked pretty but their relation to the turbo blinds would catch up. ZLastEmperor would win the final three hands of the tournament knocking down Xodd and superkid-bam to claim the title and $128,364.37.

Check out the recap below for ZLastEmperor victory against long odds:

Five hours for a TCOOP event would be considered a marathon compared to most events with standard five minute levels. Yet after five hours of play in Event #46 two tables still remained with 17 players holding on as their ultra-deep stacks met ultra-deep blinds.

Case in point just six minutes after the fifth hourly break with the blinds at 800K/1.6MM ante 200K and an average stack around 20 million (just 12.5 big blinds) the tournament reached the final table bubble as akb1 was all-in preflop with AE*StaR and yadio. akb1 was a runner-up in the Sunday Warm-up back in October 2011, but unfortunately would not get a shot to add a TCOOP title after the 7♠ 4♦ A♣ 7♦ 3♠ board favored AE*StaR's Q♥[7♥ to start up the final table below:

Seat 1: Casher_AUT (19013188 in chips)
Seat 2: AE*StaR (23726526 in chips)
Seat 3: Xodd (43391859 in chips)
Seat 4: ZISIMO7 (5798427 in chips)
Seat 5: superkid-bam (19371666 in chips)
Seat 6: yadio (29638882 in chips)
Seat 7: sauce3000 (21076000 in chips)
Seat 8: ZLastEmperor (27109268 in chips)
Seat 9: 0xandri0 (15274184 in chips)

Surprisingly the first elimination from the final table took nearly 15 minutes despite the blinds reaching 1.5MM/3MM ante 375K. 0xandri0 would push all-in from UTG holding 6.43 million as Casher_AUT did the same for a little bit more holding big slick K♣A♠. 0xandri0's 9♥K♠ would fail to overcome the preflop deficit K♥ 2♥ Q♣ 8♣ A♣ earning $6,540.80 in ninth place.

Six hands later, superkid-bam would corner yadio by raising enough from the small blind to cover yadio's stack. This was not yadio's first trip to a major final table, winning SCOOP 2013 Event #10-H, third place in 2013 WCOOP Event #25, and even a Sunday Million final table in December 2012 (finishing sixth for $46K). But, today yadio would not add a second leg to the Triple COOP after superkid-bam's K♥Q♦ stood tall against yadio's 6♦7♥ on the 5♦ J♦ J♣ J♥ 3♦ board shipping $10,220.00 to yadio in eighth place.

superkid-bam's elimination streak did not end there as two hands later as AE*StaR found pocket jacks J♥J♠ hoping to double-up against superkid-bam's dominated J♣A♥. The ace did not hit the river, but instead on the turn Q♦ 8♣ 2♣ A♣ 9♥ sending AE*StaR $18,396.00 in seventh place.

Casher_AUT holding 5.76 million chips sounds like a tall stack except when the blinds are 2.5MM/5MM ante 625K. That micro-stack went into the pot as Xodd min-raised and ZLastEmperor called from the big blind. Xodd would get heads-up after betting out on the turn 9♣ 2♥ 2♦ Q♠ J♥. The flopped trip deuces 2♣A♦ were enough as Casher_AUT's sixes 6♦6♥ headed to the rail winning $26,572.00 in sixth place.

Two hands later Xodd struck again, this time taking down sauce3000 in a similar manner after flopping trips. This has been a profitable couple of month for sauce3000, earning $34,748.00 for fifth place in this event and $15,687.00 at the Sunday Warm-Up in December.

On the next hand ZISIM07's duck-and-hide method to climb a few rungs on the pay ladder finally came to an end. Unable to even post the ante, ZISIM07 would be all-in preflop against superkid-bam's K♦7♥. Despite holding an ace 3♦A♦, the rivered king 8♠ 6♠ 2♦ 4♥ K♣ would end ZISIM07's day in fourth place ($47,012.00).

After ZISIM07 left the table, superkid-bam tried to rally the threesome for chop talks but Xodd's demands and chip lead were too much as play continued with the six-figures up top still intact.

Boom - Boom - Done

Eight minutes later three hands would tell the tale of our champion.

First, with the blinds up to 4MM/8MM ante 1MM (or 20 times the starting stack just for the ante) ZLastEmperor shoved 54.4 million from the button with pocket sixes 6♣6♠ getting looked up by superkid-bam who covered in the big blind. superkid-bam's A♠5♥ found a five on the 3♥ 5♦ 9♥ 7♠ 8♠ board but not enough to stop the 115 million chips from sliding to ZLastEmperor.

Next, it was superkid-bam's turn to be all-in for 9.9 million as both ZLastEmperor and Xodd came alone for the ride. Both players checked down the 2♠ 8♥ A♠ 2♥ 9♦ board as ZLastEmperor's pair of eights 8♣7♣ was enough to send superkid-bam's T♣5♣ away in third place ($67,452.00).

Finally, ZLastEmperor would try one last time to coax Xodd into a deal after open shoving for 136 million from the button. Instead of taking the chip hit, Xodd gambled instead by calling for 57.6 million with a small ace A♦2♦. The ace did enjoy a brief lead over ZLastEmperor's 7♣8♥ but a turned seven 6♠ 4♣ Q♣ 7♦ Q♦ sent ZLastEmperor the TCOOP Event #46 title, earning $128,364.37!
