TCOOP 2017: Busyman919 has the need for speed, annihilates Event #57 final table ($215 NL Omaha Hi/Lo [6-Max, Hyper-Turbo, Ultra-Deep, Win the Button])

This humble TCOOP event quite possibly set some PokerStars records today. First off, the tournament format-- No-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 6-Max, Hyper-Turbo, Ultra-Deep, Win the Button-- has got to contain a record number of modifiers. And secondly, it was one of the fastest final tables of an online major we have ever witnessed. Clocking in at five minutes, 46 seconds, it was roughly the length of The Beatles' early hits "Twist and Shout" and "She Loves You" played back-to-back. Although this final table was short on time, it was long on talent as its six final table players had won five WCOOP titles between them (three for Ti0373 and two for WhatifGod). It took only 17 hands to go from six players to a winner and Busyman919 won or split ten of those pots, as he earned $15,966.40 and a TCOOP title.

432 players bought in to Event #57, creating an $88,456.32 prize pool. 53 places were paid with first place set to earn $15,966.40.

Two hours and 15 minutes after cards went in the air, seven players remained. With the blinds up to 250,000/500,000 chip leader Busyman919 opened for 1.5 million and Yaba called all-in for 596,196 from the big blind.

Busyman919 made top set on the Q♠9♠4♥ flop while Yaba picked up a gutshot straight draw. The 7♠ turn was no help for Yaba, and the J♥ river made him only a pair of jacks. They were no good against Busyman919's three queens and Yaba hit the rail on the final table bubble.

Final table chip counts

Seat 1: tonyk5432 (997,264 in chips)
Seat 2: WhatIfGod (4,899,811 in chips)
Seat 3: TocalaSam (3,632,247 in chips)
Seat 4: Ti0373 (1,146,300 in chips)
Seat 5: Busyman919 (9,949,312 in chips)
Seat 6: CavaloOoOo (975,066 in chips)

Two factors contributed greatly to this final table's ultra-rapid pace- (1) the presence of a dominating chip leader, Busyman919, who held more than twice the chips of his closest competitor, and (2) the Win the Button aspect, which made it optimal for Busyman919 to move in on almost every hand and give himself near-constant position on the rest of the table.

On Hand #2, Busyman919 open-shoved for 9.74 million from UTG with A♦5♣6♣6♥ and three-time WCOOP winner Ti0373 called all-in from the big blind with A♣K♦T♥7♥. The Q♥Q♦5♦ flop made Busyman919 two pair and the 3♠ turn gave him a low draw to boot. The river was the 5♠ and Busyman919 scooped with trip fives, ending Ti0373's run in sixth place.

Ten hands later, TocalaSam was all-in for 520,455 from the big blind and Busyman919 made another UTG shove. Everyone cleared out and the cards went on their backs.

TocalaSam K♣Q♣J♦2♦
Busyman919 A♣8♠7♣6♦

TocalaSam made top pair jacks on the J♠7♠3♣ flop, but Busyman919 caught the 7♦ on the turn to make trip sevens to go with his low draw. The Q♦ river left TocalaSam with an insufficient two pair and Busyman919 scooped again, sending TocalaSam home in fifth place.

The hand took Busyman919 up to 13.95 million. Having won the button, he open-shoved on the next hand with A♣T♠T♦7♥ and CavaloOoOo called all-in from the small blind with A♥6♦5♣3♥. Busyman919 made tens and deuces on the K♦2♣2♦9♦5♥ board and CavaloOoOo departed in fourth place.

With three players remaining, Busyman919 was in the driver's seat with 16.7 million, WhatifGod was a distant second with 4 million and tonyk5432 had 884,000-- just over one big blind. Two hands later, Busyman919 moved in on the button, tonyk5432 called all-in from the small blind, and WhatifGod called all-in from the big.

Busyman919 Q♠J♣T♦9♦
tonyk5432 9♥8♦6♥2♣
WhatifGod A♣K♠Q♦2♥

The board ran out K♠7♥3♥4♦9♠- WhatifGod made a 7-4-3-2-A to take the low pot, Busyman919 took the high with jacks and nines, and tonyk5432, with a 7-6 low and a pair of nines, was eliminated in third place.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 2: WhatIfGod (4,430,395 in chips)
Seat 5: Busyman919 (17,169,605 in chips)

Heads-up play took only two hands. Busyman919 moved in on the button in Hand #16 and WhatifGod folded. Then, on Hand #17, having won the button, Busyman919 moved in again and WhatifGod called all-in.

Busyman919 K♠J♥7♦6♠
WhatifGod T♥5♠4♠2♣

Busyman919 paired his king on the K♥T♠9♥ flop while WhatifGod picked up a pair of tens. The J♦ turn gave Busyman919 kings and jacks, leaving WhatifGod drawing only to the last two tens in the deck. Neither materialized on the river, which fell the 4♥, giving Busyman919 his first TCOOP title.

Congratulations to Switzerland's Busyman919 on joining the ranks of 'COOP champions! He banked $15,966.40 for the win, while runner-up WhatifGod earned $11,177.14.
