TCOOP 2017: MenininhaMah outlasts the crowd in Event #32 ($27, NLHE, Win the Button, Bubble Rush, Progressive KO)

The $50,000 guarantee for Event #32 of the 2017 Turbo Championship of Online Poker was ignored early as players embraced the ability to re-enter while trying to take full fiscal advantage of the 75% Progressive Knockout structure. Thanks to the Progressive KO, most got their funds back with a little interest from knocking out opponents versus clinging on for one of the 1,232 paid spots. Because of the extra fun with the re-entries (the top three all fired at least one more bullet), Win the Button, and Bubble Rush structure gave this five hour turbo with a small buy-in a little extra kick. $212,971.25 was up for grabs with 75% set aside for those knocking out their opponents. None were better than MenininhaMah who claimed $13,085.92 ($5,607.92 of it in bounties) and the TCOOP title.

Marcella "MenininhaMah" Camargo

Ten minutes into the fourth hour of play only two full tables of nine remained from the sizable 6,481 player field that included 2,194 re-entries. $27 got these runners seated in what might not be a large score for some, is a great ROI and a cheap shot at a major PokerStars title.

P.A.v magic was making the most of a third bullet and a late run of decent cards to take the temporary chip lead while knocking out b0rnew0lf and Beljao in back-to-back hands to leave 13 players. The carnage did not stop there as two minutes later hand-for-hand play started up and finished.

With the blinds up to 140K/280K ante 35K a short-stacked lumo_Aut would open shove 1.79 million from the small blind as MenininhaMah had it well-covered in the big blind to make the call. MenininhaMah turned over a medium king K♠8♥ as lumo_Aut showed two live cards 6♦J♠ that could not connect with the 9♥ 8♠ 2♣ Q♥ 2♠ board, opening up the final table below:

Seat 1: MrPingo (6837819 in chips)
Seat 2: p.A.v magic (16455832 in chips)
Seat 3: skjul1 (16449108 in chips)
Seat 4: timmy.KS (1441408 in chips)
Seat 5: MenininhaMah (11147502 in chips)
Seat 6: Wall131TCI-I (5802634 in chips)
Seat 7: Hossa205 (10340601 in chips)
Seat 8: Slava1961 (4366320 in chips)
Seat 9: Luciana "luckyno75" Manolea (13908776 in chips)

Wall131TCI-I got a taste of a major final table making it to the 2015 Spring Championship of Online Poker's Event #14-L final table (finishing fifth) and will be looking to follow-through on claiming a -COOP title. However, someone else in the final table as already established big wins. Luciana "luckyno75" Manolea took down the Women's Sunday and a European Poker Tour side event title for €30,245 (then cashed again for another €33K a day later.

Four hands into last sprint for the title with the blinds holding at 140K/280K ante 35K timmy.KS would shove from early position for 1.3 million holding a small ace A♥4♥ as Manolea laid low in the big blind to call with pocket sixes 6♦6♠. The pair was not threatened on the 2♠ 3♥ T♠ 9♣ 9♥ board as timmy.KS was the first victim of the final table earning $393.30+$119.61 in bounties for ninth place.

Manolea's victim number two would come about 15 minutes later with the blinds moving up to 180K/360K ante 45K. Hossa205 tried to slide a min-raise through but Manolea was having none of that and shoved 19.9 million from the small blind. The weak raise ruse worked as Hossa205 turned over ace-king K♠A♦ to dominate Luciana's A♥5♥. However, the 5♣ 9♦ 9♥ 5♠ 3♦ board had other ideas sending the sizable 14.7 million chip pot to luckyno75 and $568.29+$1,471.22 to Hossa205 in eighth place.

Two hands later Manolea took a seat for a moment to let Wall131TCI-I and p.A.v magic tangle for a 15.4 million chip pot. With the blinds staying the same, MenininhaMah led for a min-raise as both Wall131TCI-I and p.A.v magic shoved with p.A.v magic covering. Bad timing for Wall131TCI-I's pocket nines 9♦9♥ as p.A.v magic turned over kings K♦K♠ and hit a boat on the flop T♠ K♣ T♣ 7♣ 6♥. No nines on the turn and river shipped $821.13+$1,335.28 to Wall131TCI-I in seventh place.

Shortly after the start of the fifth hour with the blinds up to 250K/500K ante 62.5K MenininhaMah would corner Slava1961 from the small blind and shove for 4.7 million hoping to prey on the short-stack. Slava1961 called off 2.56 million holding a decent 9♥Q♣ but was not able to overcome MenininhaMah's flopped nut flush K♠A♠ on the T♠ 6♠ 4♠ 8♠ 7♦ board. For the small price of $27, Slava1961 walked away with $1,714.34+$299.40 in bounties for fifth place.

During the fifth hour p.A.v magic was rolling up chips with help from the Win the Button feature and this hand. Seven minutes after the Slava1961 took leave and the blinds holding, p.A.v magic and skjul1 would get to the river A♥ 7♥ K♦ T♥ 4♣ with skjul1 facing a raise large enough to be all-in. 20.1 million chips in the pot as skjul1 called with a turned broadway straight Q♠J♠, only to be upended by p.A.v magic's also turned flush 4♥2♥. Skjul1's run would gain $2,477.09+$1,084.01 in fourth place.

Luciana "luckyno75" Manolea's luck would run out four hands later. With the blinds moving up to 300K/600K ante 75K MenininhaMah tried to squeeze Manolea's big blind by shoving 18.2 million chips. But, Luciana was ready to fight and called with T♠A♦. Unfortunately for the former Women's Sunday champ, MenininhaMah's 7♦9♦ would find trips on the 4♠ 7♣ K♣ 7♠ Q♣ board shipping $3,579.20+$2,755.60 to luckyno75 in third place.

Heads-up play would start with p.A.v magic well in control holding 59.2 million chips to MenininhaMah's 27.5 million. The chat box was not used much during the final table and continued to hold radio silence through the short conclusion.

Four minutes in, after winning five of the last six hands, MenininhaMah rolled the momentum into cracking p.A.v magic's queens Q♥Q♠ while holding 3♠6♠ and rivering a flush on the 2♥ 5♠ 9♣ 2♠ K♠ board to nearly double-up with the 40.2 million chip pot.

11 minutes later with MenininhaMah leading 53.5 million to 33.1 million they decided to end this tournament on a pre-flop flip. MenininhaMah chose pocket sevens 7♠7♦ as p.A.v magic's 9♥A♥ would grab a gaggle of outs on the flop and more on the turn Q♣ J♥ 4♥ 8♦ 2♦ but could not connect. For a little over five and a half hours of work, MenininhaMah would claim $7,478.00+$5,607.92 in bounties during this run for the 2017 TCOOP Event #32 victory!
