TCOOP 2017: sup-sport777 bashes a home run in Event #22 ($215 NLO8, 6-Max, Progressive KO)

Taking a deal while at the final table of a tournament will always be a hotly debated subject around poker circles. Personality, past performance, alcohol, and current financial situation can always influence the decision. The end of the 2017 Turbo Championship of Online Poker Event #22 $215 6-max NLO8 Progressive KO was no different. An offer to deal was on the table from sup-sport777, but a polite decline and willingness to gamble left the $10,818.47 in play while heads-up and trailing Lena900. It turned out to favor sup-sport777 who rallied back to take the title claiming a total of $15,664.73 (after adding in the $4,846.26 in bounties).

At the end of the second hour (along with late registration), naminamiHIH (Finland) would lead the remaining 235 players going into the third hour of play. While this tournament is a lower buy-in ($215) than most during the course of this year's TCOOP, the 629 total players managed to more than double the $50K guarantee creating a $125,800.00 prize pool.

Since this is a Progressive KO tourney, players are equally interested in grabbing other player's bounties along with the five-figure sum sitting up top. KornmeisterX (Germany) knows the feeling of victory here after claiming this tournament's title last year but the return trip was not as smooth, exiting well before the second break.

During the middle of the third hour t0sca would be the last player to rely on bounty win as their sole source of income, as the remaining 83 players would pick up at least an extra $247 for hanging around this long. Among those in the hunt at the third break (and 54 remaining), two-time World Championship of Online Poker champ Shyam "G's zee" Srinivasan and Sunday Million/WCOOP champ Kevin "iacog4" Iacofano will be looking to add a notch towards the Triple COOP and PokerStars Grand Slam respectively. NaminamiHIH kept trucking along, maintaining the second largest stack next to the chip leader's Premove.

At the end of the third hour only 13 players remained the hunt for the title. Srinivasan opted out involuntarily in 22nd place ($535.65+$662.50 in bounties) but Iacofano still has a shot at adding the third part of the PokerStars Grand Slam. But new chip leader, antesvante, has plenty of major late-tournament knowledge from the Sunday Warm-Up and Million as well as the Spring Championship of Online Poker.

NaminamiHIH's run would be ended by a resurgent Iacofano in 11th place ($895.28+$1,309.37 in bounties). Antesvante got a quick reminder of the swings in big bet Omaha going from the chip leader with 13 left, to earning ($895.28+$1,050 in bounties) in tenth place. Phalat already had a TCOOP and SCOOP titles, and almost added another today but was stopped short of the final table in ninth place ($1,157.44+$150.00 in bounties).

Instead of meekly opening the final table, a three-way all-in would break out between Lena900, wesje1983, and sup-sport777 with Lena900 covering the table. Lena900's jacks J♥ J♦ 2♦ 8♣ failed to sweep with the Q♦ 9♠ 2♥ K♣ A♦ board, but sup-sport777's ace-king A♠ J♣ K♦ 7♥ managed to knockout wesje1983 2♠ Q♠ 4♦ A♣ and start up the final table below:

Seat 1: NemesisMsop (1091415 in chips)
Seat 2: IneedMassari (1264915 in chips)
Seat 3: Kevin "iacog4" Iacofano (545201 in chips)
Seat 4: Goforitrejam (670736 in chips)
Seat 5: sup-sport777 (1697582 in chips)
Seat 6: Lena900 (1020151 in chips)

Lena900 was a little ticked about giving up the chip lead before the final table but managed to grab it back ten minutes into the final six. With the blinds up to 20K/40K ante 5K Lena900 would shove 1.47 million from the cutoff holding a hi-only hand Q♠K♦T♥A♥. NemesisMsop called for less with a decent low-wrap K♣3♥2♠A♣ that failed to connect enough on the 9♠ K♠ T♠ 7♠ K♥ board, earning $1,496.37+$2,000.77 in sixth place.

Eight minutes later as the blinds moved up to 30K/60K ante 7.5K, a short-stacked Iacofano was up for one last dance pushing all-in for 314K holding tens 3♥ T♣ 4♦ T♦. Sup-sport777 was ready to call from the big blind holding a middling 6♣9♣5♥J♠. That hand connected well to the middling 9♥ 8♣ J♣ 8♠ 7♣ board to knockout Iacofano and end the shot at a third notch to the Grand Slam in fifth place ($2,222.60+$1,273.43 in bounties).

Ten minutes before the end of the hour Goforitrejam found a decent low-wrap hand 5♦ 2♥ A♦ 4♥ and shoved for 814K from the cutoff as sup-sport777 decided to jump into the fray re-pushing with 3♣K♥A♥3♠. The king kicker made the difference as no low on the 9♦ A♣ T♣ 7♠ A♠ board shipped the 1.76 million chip pot to sup-sport777 and $3,301.29+$1,018.75 to Goforitrejam in fourth place.

Right before the break Lena900 decided there was too many people left in the tournament and made a play for ending this tournament before the starting the fifth hour. After a flop with two tens T♠K♦T♥ Lena900 and former WCOOP champ IneedMassari would shove all-in. Oddly, neither hand would use their trips to win as two diamonds on the turn 2♦ and river A♦ would give both of them flushes. IneedMassari's Ace-high Jack kicker 9♣J♦T♦6♥ was not enough to defeat Lena900's Q♦J♥9♦T♣, taking away $4,903.50+$1,362.50 in third place.

Sup-sport777 expressed a quick interest in a deal, but Lena900 wished to spin the slot machine while taking a 4.08 million to 2.2 million chip lead into heads-up play.

Ten minutes later and shortly after the hourly break sup-sport777 pushed aces through for a 5.8 million chip double-up and that would be the last time Lena900 held the lead.

Another five minutes gone by with Lena900 now trailing 1.98 million to 4.3 million and blinds at 50K/100K ante 12.5K, the former Super Tuesday winner would shove A♦6♣J♣9♠ over a limping sup-sport777. The low-wrap hand 5♣A♥3♣4♣ was enough to corral a TCOOP title. The low was locked after the flop and only the pair of threes was needed 2♦ 8♦ 3♦ 2♠ T♥ for sup-sport777 to claim Event #22 and $10,818.47 (and $4,846.26 in bounties)!
