If your favorite game is seven card stud, Event #24 of the PokerStars WCOOP - $320 Stud, was your chance to get your fix without it being part of a mixed game format. A field of 337 players plunked down $320 in an attempt to win a coveted WCOOP bracelet, more than doubling the $50,000 guarantee to create a prize pool of $101,100 as the last 48 players cashed. At a final table featuring the newest member of Team PokerStars Online, Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen (below), it was SCOOP winner Big_Nemo going on a rush late to add a WCOOP title to their results, earning over $19,000.

Besides Petersen, two members of Team PokerStars cashed in this event. Jose "nachobarbero" Barbero was the first to make the money, earning a mincash of $480.22 for 48th place. Humberto "Humberto B." Brenes finished in 17th place, earning $985.72.

Notables cashing include multiple WCOOP winner Daniel "djk123" Kelly (15th), Soren Kongsgaard (19th) and Dylan "ImaLucSac" Lynde (46th).

The final table bubble arrived with limits at 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 1,600, meaning the average stack had about 10 big bets. Two of the short stacks got involved in a hand to determine the 9th place finisher. Sebastian "Bassysaffari" Saffari held just over 51,000 in chips and was forced to bring in for 2,400 showing the 4♦. Action folded around to caprioli showing the Q♦, raising to 8,000 as Bassysaffari called. Fourth brought the T♣ to caprioli and 7♣ to Bassysaffari as caprioli bet 8,000 and Bassysaffari called. Fifth gave Bassysaffari the K♣ as caprioli picked up the 3♥. Bassysaffari check-raised caprioli's bet, then called all-in when caprioli made it three bets. Caprioli started with a pair of threes in the whole, improving to trips on fifth, when Bassysaffari made a pair of kings, unable to improve on sixth or seventh streets, finishing in ninth place for $1,769.25, setting up the final table.

Final table chip counts:

Seat 1: SebbyGl (155,719 in chips)
Seat 2: Big_Nemo (75,376 in chips)
Seat 3: Hood_Ace (64,643 in chips)
Seat 4: Operga (225,118 in chips)
Seat 5: TIETYMM (343,012 in chips)
Seat 6: Bilybob88 (276,870 in chips)
Seat 7: Mickey" mement_mori" Petersen (413,383 in chips)
Seat 8: caprioli (130,879 in chips)

The final table would lose a player within a few hands as Hood_Ace was eliminated in 8th place. Limits had jumped to 10,000/20,000 with an ante of 2,000 as SebbyGl brought it in for 3,000 showing the 2♦. Hood_Ace raised to 10,000 showing the Q♦ as only SebbyGl called. On 4th, Hood_Ace received the 2♣ and bet 10,000. SebbyGl raised to 20,000 after picking up the 9♥. Betting was capped after both players put in 40,000. Down to just 2,643 chips, Hood_Ace put in the remaining chips after getting the 8♠ on 5th. SebbyGl called and both hands were revealed. SebbyGl held J♠ J♦ 2♠ 9♥ 5♠, starting with two jacks in the hole. Hood_Ace turned over K♥ A♦ Q♦ 2♣ 8♠ for ace high. SebbyGl was unable to improve their hand, dealt the T♠Q♥, but Hood_Ace could only improve to a pair of deuces, getting the 2♥7♣, earning $2,274.75.

Big_Nemo, a winner earlier this year in SCOOP Event 7-H, hoped to improve on their 8th place finish from WCOOP Event 11 last week. Doubling up on three separate occasions early at the final table, here's how the third double-up played out, crippling SebbyGL:

Big_Nemo finished off SebbyGl on the next hand. The limits moved up to 12,000/24,000 with an ante of 2,400 as SebbyGl bet out 12,000 as Big_Nemo re-raised to set SebbyGl all-in. The cards were dealt out as SebbyGl started with a pair of tens, but could not improve: T♦ T♥ 2♣ A♦ K♥ 5♥ J♠. Big_Nemo held a pair of sevens, improving to two pair: 7♦ 3♥ 7♥ 6♥ 2♦ 6♦ A♠ to bring the final table down to six. SebbyGl earned $2780.25 for the seventh place finish.

Operga departed a few hands later in sixth place, collecting $3,791.25 for their efforts. TIETYMM brought it in for 3,600 with the 2♥ as Petersen raised to 12,000 only to see Operga and TIETYMM both re-raise. Petersen got out of the way as Operga capped the betting and TIETYMM called. The rest of the chips went in on fourth street as Operga revealed split queens, only to see TIETYMM show a pair of aces in the hole. Both players ended up with two pair, but TIETYMM held a better two pair: A♠ A♣ 2♥ 9♠ J♣ J♠ 7♥ to Operga's 8♦ Q♦ Q♣ 5♦ 6♥ A♥ 6♣.

Five-handed, it appeared that Petersen would earn a WCOOP title on his birthday, but Big_Nemo kept finding ways to win big pots to eventually take the lead

The limits were now 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 3,200 as caprioli was anted down to under two big bets. Finding a pair of nines in the hole, caprioli capped the betting in a hand with TIETYMM, starting with just king-high. Caprioli was unable to improve while TIETYMM picked up another king on fifth to dash the Brazilian's hopes, earning $5,307.75 for the fifth place finish.

Big_Nemo remained in front, but the final four were within a few bets of each other. It would be the following hand that gave the chip leader control of the final table:

TIETYMM could not overcome that hand against Big_Nemo as Bilybob88 collected the rest of the chips, eliminating the German player in fourth place, good for $7,835.25. Bilybob88 started with split nines, setting TIETYMM all-in on fourth street and improving to trips: Q♥ 9♣ 9♦ 8♦ 2♥ 9♥ A♥. TIETYMM held a pair, but could only make two pair to bring the field down to three: A♠ 4♠ J♠ 6♦ 6♥ J♣ 3♦.

Players from Canada maybe were silently rooting Big_Nemo on, as no Canadian players had won so far in this year's WCOOP although there were many close calls. Having two-thirds of the chips three-handed, Big_Nemo would close out the tournament winning the final four hands. Limits soared to 25,000/50,000 with an ante of 5,000 as Big_Nemo had crippled Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen in two previous hands down to just 32,361 in chips, causing the new Team PokerStars Online player to comment "lksalkdjsadlksajd". Forced to bring it in with the 8♣ for 7,500, Petersen re-raised Big_Nemo's bet to go all-in. Petersen's hoped to double up, but could only come up with a pair of eights: 7♣ T♦ 8♣ 6♥ 3♥ 8♠ 5♥, earning third place money of $10,868.25 . Big_Nemo started with a pair of aces, but didn't need to improve to win the hand: A♣ Q♥ A♠ 8♥ 6♣ K♥ 2♦, holding an 11-1 chip lead over the UK's Bilybob88.

The next hand, Big_Nemo held all the chips. Bilybob88 was the bring-in and bet 25,000 with the 2♣. Holding the 3♥, Big_Nemo raised to 50,000 as Bilybob88 re-raised to 75,000 as Big_Nemo called. Bilybob88 bet 25,000 on fourth as Big_Nemo called. On fifth, Bilybob88 bet all-in showing a pair of deuces as Big_Nemo called. On sixth, Big_Nemo showed a pair of threes, and that would eventually be enough to win the hand. For the record, Big_Nemo held 9♥ T♦ 3♥ 8♥ J♥ 3♦ 5♠ as Bilybob88 held Q♠ 4♠ 2♣ 9♣ 2♥ A♥ 8♦. Bilybob88 earned $14,406.75 by outlasting Petersen and finishing in second. Big_Nemo earns the WCOOP gold and diamond bracelet to go with the SCOOP watch won earlier this year.
