WCOOP: Poker in my pajamas

wcoop2009-thumb.jpgIn the poker world, August is one of my least favorite months. It can often be a struggle for me to get back to the reality of a day job after the WSOP. This year, the WCOOP is on the horizon with the promise of 62 events and at least $30 million dollars in prize pool money. This makes my shift back to reality less of a burden.

I have always been a dreamer, and WCOOP certainly gives me room to imagine...so many players will have their lives changed over the course of a day (or two) in ways they may have only fantasized about. You don't even have to get out of your pajamas!

This WCOOP, chances are I will be playing a fair amount of poker in my pajamas...two of the events I am most looking forward to (#13 $215 PL Omaha H/L (1R1A) and #29 $265 NL Omaha H/L) will be firing up at 4am locally (MST). Regardless, I will be well rested and hope this will be an edge for me, at least over other North Americans, as I am all too familiar with early mornings!

The anticipation for this year's WCOOP is greater than it ever has been before. Having recently been named a member of Team Online, and proudly displaying the Red Spade, I feel some inherent pressure to prove myself to my friends, fellow poker players and to my teammates. I welcome that challenge!!! You will be able to find me in most of the Omaha H/L events and other mixed game events. I don't normally wear a watch....but am willing to make an exception (especially after getting to check out a few SCOOP watches this summer)!

As a woman, there is also the extra incentive of vying for the title Woman of the Series. PokerStars is giving away a 2012 PCA Woman's Package to the highest ranking female on the WCOOP Leader Board. Since early 2011, I have been working towards attending the 2012 PCA, so now I have another reason to be excited!

As always, you can follow my progress on twitter (@talonchick) or find out more about me through my blog ().

So set your alarms (mine will be)....less than four days until WCOOP 2011 kicks off!
