WCOOP 2012: Event 33 Day 1 forecasting Summer of George?

The northern hemisphere's summer has but a week left to shine, and one Team PokerStars Pro seems intent on making it the Summer of George.

George Danzer has already won one WCOOP bracelet so far this year. He's cashed in six other events. He's currently fourth on the 2012 Player of the Series leaderboard. And now? He's in third place out of the remaining eleven players left in Event #33, the $320 six-max no-limit hold'em event.

More than 1,600 players showed up for Day 1 on Thursday. When play broke more than eleven hours later, only these eleven remained. They're all guaranteed $4,941 and vying for more than $80,000 in first place prize money.

A smile for the Summer of George

Event #33 play resumes at 06:00 ET Friday. At that time, Danzer will join the other ten players in the shot for the WCOOP gold bracelet. If the Team Pro manages another win, it will be his third WCOOP bracelet. What's more, it will put him in a virtual dead heat for the 2012 WCOOP Player of the Series.

We'll have a full wrap-up of the action when it finishes up on Friday. Join us then.
