Action went hand-for-hand with ten remaining. The final table bubble took longer than expected until basti-rocks bombed it all-in prelop and short-stacked NL_Profit called, attempting to double up. However, the board ran out A♠Q♦J♥Q♥T♠ and without a qualifying low, basti-rocks won the pot with a Broadway straight holding A♦K♣J♦6♣ . NL_Profit held A♥7♠4♠2♦ for only had two pair -- Aces and Queens -- and failed to avoid an elimination. NL_Profit bubbled off the final table in tenth place. R.L.ROCHA eliminated in 6th place

nsmyther limped for 14,000, R.L.ROCHA shoved all-in for 94,705, joe1224 flat called, and nsmyther also limp=called. Three-handed. The flop was T♦3♣2♦. Both joe1224 and nsmyther checked. With four players remaining, joe1224 chipped up to 2.7 million and basti-rocks held the short stack with 759K.

Without a qualifying low, basti-rocks lost with two pair -- Aces and nines -- against nsmyther's full boat -- treys full of Aces. For a fourth-place finish, basti-rocks took home $15,918.20.

With three remaining, joe1224 held the lead with 3 million, nsmyther moved into second with 2 million, and 1CheckItOut1 was last with 511K.

When nsmyther took a slight lead (2.4 million to joe1224's 2.3 million), it was time to discuss a deal. 1CheckItOut1 was the shortest stack remaining with 866K. Action was paused and the final three chatted about chopping up the money. After ten minutes, negotiations stalled and play resumed without a deal.

1CheckItOut1 eliminated in 3rd place

Classic suck-resuck. joe1224 shoved from the small blind for 2,147,028, and 1CheckItOut1 tanked for a bit before calling all-in for 799,262.

HEADS-UP: joe1224 (Taiwan) vs. nsmyther (Ireland)
Seat 5: joe1224 (2,973,790)
Seat 9: nsmyther (2,631,210)

With two remaining, joe1224 led by a mere 342K. They played for a level and joe1224 opened up the lead a bit and led 3.5 million to 2.0 million. They decided to discuss a deal.

DEAL 2.0? NOPE 2.0

The numbers were floated (joe1224 to get $33,971.55 and nsmyther to get $31,692.01 with $2,000 left on the table to the champion), but joe1224's connection dropped out for several minutes. A bored nsmyther started writing limericks in the chat box while he waited for joe1224 to return. When joe1224's connection improved, they discussed a potential deal. However, joe1224 wanted 36K and asked "U 30K ok?"

"You want my credit card number too?" joked nsmyther.

An adamant nsmyther did not want to take less than second place and asked for 32.6K. joe1224 did not like those numbers so play resumed without a deal in place.

nsmyther eliminated in 2nd place; joe1224 wins WCOOP Event #59

After a second potential deal broke down, the final two played four hands before it was over. On the final hand... joe1224 min-raised to 50,000, nsmyther bumped it up to 137,500, and joe1224 called. The flop was K♦7♣5♥. nsmyther fired out 187,500, joe1224 bombed it all-in for 3,341,640, and nsmyther called all-in for 1,794,610.

nsmyther: K♥J♦6♥4♣
joe1224: K♠7♦4♥2♠

joe1224 was ahead after flopping two pair, but nsmyther picked up an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the 9♦ and the river was the 5♣. Without a qualifying low, nsmyther failed to make a straight and lost with two pair -- Kings and fives. After fading a straight draw, joe1224's better two pair -- Kings and sevens -- held up and he was dragged the entire pot.

For a gutsy runner-up performance, Ireland's nsmyther took home $28,473.40.

Congrats to joe1224 from Taiwan. First place paid out $39,190.16 and a cool WCOOP champions' bracelet.
