WCOOP 2014 looks for biggest Main Event ever
Ten million bucks.
That's right. Ten million dollars.
That's the aim for this year's World Championship of Online Poker Main Event. In fact, it's not just the aim...it is the guarantee.
Today, PokerStars is launching satellites for this year's WCOOP Main Event, one that is guaranteed to have a minimum of $10 million in prize money. If you know anything about PokerStars' guarantees, you know how that is bound to end up. Put it this way: last year's Main Event had an $8 million guarantee. It ended up with the 2,133-player field playing for $10.6 million in prize money.
Last year, Germany's PlayinWasted won nearly $1.5 million after a three-way deal. Now it's time to start thinking about your entry for the 2014 Main Event. If you get started now, you can have your spot before it starts getting crowded.
Just now, PokerStars kicked off its first satellites for this year's WCOOP. Included on the slate of qualifying events is the ever-popular Mega-Path. This year, the WCOOP Mega-Path satellites start as low as 1 Frequent Player Point.
There are $215 satellites on Saturday at 11:30 ET and Sunday at 12:30 ET with Round 1s starting as low as $1.65 (3x-Turbo).
There, of course, will be more opportunities and different ways to qualify in the future, but for now, start working on getting your seat early, and keep your eye on the WCOOP home page for more information about the 2014 WCOOP series.
