WCOOP 2016: Carrel and Barer earn first titles on Day 10

Charlie "Epiphany77" wins a first WCOOP title, so too Ami "UhhMee" Barer to go with two SCOOPS. There's also a win for blkcrow. Meanwhile zzwwzzwwzz stays at the top of the leader board, but there's some movement in the positions behind. Three more events conclude today, with three more set to start.

The headlines from the tenth day of WCOOP 2016

Well, we called it. Although to be honest so did everybody else. Charlie "Epiphany77" Carrell won his first WCOOP title yesterday, the talented Brit, with $2.4 million already in live tournament winnings, surprising no one by winning Event #31 and a first prize of $60,000.

We've written a lot about Carrell over the course of the last 18 months. He came to everyone's attention at EPT Malta in April of last year, and never really left it. A cynic might say it was hard to ignore a man who dressed like Carrel does, but those able to see through that (like one of those 3D pictures) spotted a talented player destined to achieve many things.

We wrote about him at that event here, and then profiled him as the type of man you should sit next to on a flight home, here.

There was also a win for Ami "Uhhmee" Barer, proof, as as Will O'Connor wrote, that the cream sometimes rises to the top.

Barer earned more than $111,000 ahead of a tough final table. Blkcrow brought the WCOOP day to a close winning the PLO Hi/Lo 8-Max for $43,661. Alex Villegas has the recap on that one.
