WCOOP 2016: prepstyle71 with totally awesome win in PLO Championship Event #63 ($2,100 PLO 6-Max)

Cue up your favorite 1980s mix because prepstyle71 won the WCOOP PLO Championship. If you're prepstyle71, you might ask yourself, "How did I fade 406 players in one of the toughest PLO fields ever assembled?"

If you're prepstyle71, you might find yourself sitting at a final table with two Dutchies and a two-time WSOP bracelet winner.

And if you're prepstyle71, after an hour-long tedious heads-up battle, you might ask yourself, "How the heck did I get here?"

A diaspora of 406 PLO-thirsty souls gathered for WCOOP Event #63 and 169 of them fired a second shot in this single re-entry event. At stake? Nearly $203K for first place plus bragging rights. As the field thinned to tables, EPT5 Copenhagen champ and 2016 WSOP PLO High Roller bracelet winner Jens 'Jeans89' Kyllonen busted in ninth place. When the final table was set, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Mike 'gordo16' Gorodinsky was one of the short stacks compared to the pair of Dutch players, omyg0t and Bullitos, sitting atop the two deepest stacks at the final table. Mike 'gordo16' Gorodinsky bowed out in fifth place and the narrative became -- which Dutch player was going to ship the PLO title? It got heads-up between Holland's Bullitos and Canada's prepstyle71.After a heads-up bout that lasted nearly an exhausting 80-minutes on nonstop PLO action with the lead swapping hands too many times to count, prepstyle71 finally pulled away and landed a stunning knockout blow to prevent Holland from running away with this PLO championship. Instead, prepstyle71 stepped into the winner's circle as the newest WCOOP champ.

WCOOP Event #63 $2,100 PLO Championship was a 6-max event that attracted 406 entries and 169 re-entries for a total of 575 entries. They created a prize pool worth $1,150,000, which smashed the $500K Guarantee. Only the top 65 spots got a cut of the prize pool with $202,930.71 set aside for the champ.

Day 1 ended with only 66 players remaining and smack in the middle of the money bubble. Dan 'djk123' Kelly busted out late on Day 1. Canada's prepstyle71 bagged up the most chips with a shade under 600K. Plenty of big names still alive too such as Mike 'gordo16' Gorodinsky, Justin 'ZeeJustin' Bonomo, Neil Channing, and 2012 WCOOP Player of the Series Mikal 'mikal12345' Blomlie.

Day 2 began with 66 players remaining and on the cusp of the money bubble. G's zee busted first on Day 2 and everyone locked up a min-cash worth $5,802.78. Channing busted and cashed in 36th place. Other notables who cashed included BongBob (31st place), ZeeJustin (23rd place), mikal12345 (20th place), SamRostan (17th place), and Fabrizo 'SixthSenSe19' Gonzalez (16th place).

With 19 to go, gordo16 passed the 1M mark and snagged the lead with prepstyle71 and Jeans89 right behind. By the time 12 players remained on the final two tables, gordo16 passed 2M and was closing in on 2.5M. However, the Dutchies were ready to make a run. Bullitos and omyg0t surged to the front of the pack with gordo16. With nine to go, they were 1-2-3. prepstyle71 took out Jens 'Jeans89' Kyllonen in ninth place. Kylllonen is a regular in some of the biggest PLO cash games in the world and he won the PLO High Roller at the 2016 WSOP for his first bracelet. But the former EPT5 Copenhagen winner missed the final table by a few spots. China's zzwwzzwwzz made three final tables at the 2016 WCOOP including a second-place finish in Event #11. Alas, he busted in eighth place just before the final table bubble.

With seven to go, action went hand-for-hand, Ireland's Reesy had Kings snapped off when A♦K♦K♣8♣ lost to Bullitos's A♣7♦6♦5♣ and rivered two pair. Reesy bubbled off the final table in seventh place.
