WCOOP 2017: Notable first time winners headline Day 15

The headlines from the weekend

There were some big results from the weekend on PokerStars, and some big winners to go with them, some of whom were surprising a few people by recording first WCOOP wins.

One of the biggest was one of the biggest. "Philbort", also known as Philipp Gruissem won Event 45, recording a first COOP win.

There was also a first WCOOP win for Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen in Event 40, after what was his fifth final table.

WCOOP-49: $215 NLHE [Progressive KO, Sunday Warm-Up SE], $1M Gtd
There's still some way to go in the special edition Sunday Warm up with 153 players returning at 4pm (11am ET). Sw33ney has a sizeable chip lead as well as more than $2,800 locked up in bounties. Fintan "easywithaces" Hand is currently fourth in chips, while Andre Akkari is in 18th place. There's more than $87,000 for the winner.

WCOOP-50: $2,100 NLHE [Sunday Million SE], $2M Gtd
Down to 115 players in the special edition Sunday Million who return at 7pm (2pm ET) to play down to a winner and a first prize of $386,000. Frredd of Brazil leads but there's a long way to go.

WCOOP-51: $25,000 PLO [6-Max, High Roller], $1M Gtd
Things are pretty tense in this one, with nine players paid and ten players remaining. And it's a pretty talent filled field who will return at 8pm (3pm ET), led by Fresh_oO_D. One of the biggest WCOOP paydays is at stake, with $469,986 to the winner.
