WCOOP 2017: kkopghy crowned king in Event #60-H ($2,100 FL 2-7 TD)

Sometimes you gotta get low to win big and kkopghy drew lower than anybody in Event #60-H.

Whiel kkopghy didn't start the final table with the lead, our champion quickly took it over and then proceeded to run over (run under?) the final table. kkopghy swept through the final table, eliminating every single there that wasn't named kkopghy. It wasn't due to a lack of skill at the table either, the six-handed table included the likes of Bryn Kenney, Ronny Kaiser and Mike Watson.

It was just kkopghy's day and our champion limboed lower than anyone when needed. This is kkopghy's first WCOOP title and our Russian champion also received a $52,320.00 payday to go along with the victory.

Now, on to the slaughter.

The final table

Seat 1: kkopghy - 1,047,900
Seat 2: TIME1MINUTE - 694,425
Seat 3: Bryn "BrynKenney" Kenney - 701,900
Seat 4: Mongano - 1,142,125
Seat 5: Mike "SirWatts" Watson - 244,700
Seat 6: Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser - 968,950

Mike Watson came in as the short stack, but was almost able to outlast one player. Almost.

Bryn Kenney took a few hits early on and then a big run-in with kkopghy left him with less than a small blind. Limits were 25,000/50,000 and Ronny Kaiser raised from the hijack. kkopghy called and Kenney three-bet. Only kkopghy called and our champ drew two cards while Kenney took one. Kenney bet and kkopghy called this street and the next and kkopghy kept drawing one while Kenney patted. Kenney then check-called a final bet on the river and mucked when kkopghy turned over 8-5-4-3-2. The hand left Kenney with 11,900.

Then Watson fell the following hand.

kkopghy raised from the hijack and Watson called from the big blind. Both players drew two and then Watson took another two after calling another bet.

Mike Watson

kkopghy drew one and then put out another bet. Watson called and both players drew one. Watson, who was left with a miniscule amount of chips, check-called all-in and showed a pair of fours with 10-7-5-4-4 while kkopghy showed Q-8-3-5-2.

Watson finished 6th and then Kenney fell in 5th the following hand.

Kenney called all-in from the cutoff, Mongano raised from the button and kkopghy called from the big blind. All three players drew two and kkopghy bet. Mongano called and kkopghy stood pat while Kenney took two and Mongano drew one. Mongano then folded to a bet and kkopghy stood pat again while Kenney drew a final card. kkopghy had hit a 8-7-5-4-2 while Kenney tabled K-8-7-5-4.

Kenney was out while kkopghy now commanded nearly 60 percent of the chips in play.

Bryn Kenney

Then kkopghy got most of TIME1MINUTE's chips after hitting a 7-6-5-3-2. kkopghy raised predraw that hand and drew three after TIME1MINUTE called. kkopghy then took one and patted while TIME1MINUTE drew two, then one, then none. kkopghy three-bet on the river and then won the 600,000 pot after TIME1MINUTE called and mucked. TIME1MINUTE dropped to 29,425 and kkopghy took those chips a few hands later.

Kaiser was also in that hand and lost a chunk of chips after kkopghy hit 7-6-5-4-2 and the other two players mucked. TIME1MINUTE finished 4th while kkopghy chipped up to 3.7 million.

Kaiser dipped to 378,950 after the hand and Mongano was in a distand second with 729,625. But Mongano dipped soon after and then fell in 3rd.

Mongano raised to 60,000 from the button that hand and Kaiser three-bet to 90,000 from the small blind. Both kkopghy and Mongano called players went to the first draw. Three for Mongano, two for kkopghy and one for Kaiser. Kaiser bet, kkopghy called and Mongano raised all-in for just a bit more. Both players called and Kaiser stood pat while the others drew one.

Kaiser bet after that and then called kkopghy's raise. kkopghy joined Kaiser in patting while Mongano drew a final card. kkopghy showed 8-6-5-4-2 and the other two players mucked. Mongano finished 3rd while the tournament went heads-up.

Kaiser offered to chop things 50/50, but kkopghy wasn't having it.

kkopghy had a huge lead, 4.1 million to Kaiser's 677,200. Things didn't last long either, partly due to the fact that both players hit an 8-low a few hands in.

Ronny Kaiser

kkopghy raised that hand and Kaiser called. kkopghy took two and Kaiser drew three. Kaiser check-called and then took another two cards while kkopghy stood pat. kkopghy bet again and Kaiser called. Kaiser then took one more card and raised all-in after kkopghy bet. kkopghy called and showed 8-5-4-3-2 to Kaiser's 8-7-5-3-2.

Kaiser was out in 2nd while kkopghy's domination was complete. The Russian player took down the title and $53,320.00
