HOTTER THAN THE SUN
It's all getting a little bit ridiculous now for Denis "aDrENalin710" Strebkov. Having won an unprecedented three titles during the first week of WCOOP 2018, aDrENalin710 ushered in the new week with a fourth tournament victory, in the $2,100 8-Game. That's one of the toughest events on the whole WCOOP calendar, but again the field of 136 was no match. Strebkov fired only one bullet too, picking up another $70,720. That's his eighth career WCOOP title, three more than anyone else on the planet.

BEHIND THE HEADLINES
Day of champions: To paraphrase the great, idealistic, not-all-that-realistic-but-the-best-there's-been movie character Mike McDermott: If this is a game of luck, how do the same guys make it to the final table every time?
There's clearly nothing lucky about Denis "aDrENalin710" Strebkov's sensational crushing of the 2018 WCOOP. But just taking a look through the list of 15 winners on Day 8 of this series, there are some incredibly familiar names. Yesterday was the day of the superstar, with wins for:
Benny "RunGodLike" Glaser: A three-time WSOP bracelet winner and mixed fame specialist, Glaser won his first WCOOP title in the $55 PLO 6-Max. He is formerly a SCOOP hi/lo winner and will no doubt be returning to the tables tonight as the first stud event of this series gets under way.

Benny Glaser: Mixing it up in the WCOOP
Niklas "Lena900" Åstedt: Online poker's current world No 1, Lena900 has more than $6 million winnings in PokerStars tournaments alone. He is a double SCOOP champion to boot, and last night won the $530 PLO 6-Max.
Nick "FU_15" Maimone: With more than $2 million in live tournament winnings, including victory in the PCA $25,000 High Roller two years ago, Maimone is a formidable online star too and "FU_15" is a regular at lives events and won PCA $25K in 2017. His victory in the $530 PLO8 was worth $31,222.05.
Ramiro "ramastar88" Petrone: The current Argentina No 1 took his online winnings on PokerStars past $3 million with victory in the $530 NLHE rebuy event. He has Micro Millions and SCOOP titles already, and for good measure won a $109 6-Max turbo on PokerStars at the same time last night.
Tom "tjbentham" Bentham: A former SCOOP champion but best known as long-term high stakes cash crusher, "tjbentham" won the $5,200 PLO High Roller.
Ole "wizowizo" Schemion: Is Ole Schemion.

Ole Schemion: One of the greatest poker players around
Another double champion: Amid all the antler rutting of poker's established stars last night, it was easy to overlook another awesome achievement. With victory in the $5.50 NL08 event, Premove, from Russia, joined the WCOOP double champion club, adding to his title won last week in the 2-7 Single Draw.
