World Cup of Poker: Germany Province Final Results Are In
Poof! We have winners!
While the U.S. and Canada players rested their weary poker-filled heads and slept in on a Sunday morning before their qualifying tournaments, the Germans were already competing for their spots on the provincial teams. Sixteen qualifiers ran at 8:00 and settled the scores, ending with 32 players who solidified their places on their respective teams. The winner and runner-up from each qualifier today will return for the divisional tournaments next week.
German players are a force to be reckoned with at any poker tournament, and those looking for spots on the German team are clearly focused on winning the World Cup of Poker V title. Not only would they like to see it happen in the sunny warm setting of the Bahamas at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January of 2009, but a spot on the coveted team that can potentially bring their country to victory will forever go down in poker history. The 32 players who hope to be on Team Germany clinched their qualifying seats today as follows, by province:
Baden-Württemberg: Gaugel_72 and oliver_ulm
Bayern: Contempe and Huber_Richar
Berlin: NiceBet_1985 and Max Pro 101
Brandenburg: zoot1000 and In3xtr3mo
Bremen: hasibaer1967 and Assgott84
Hamburg: 1 Man@work and noregretsall
Hessen: fsh! and ELGRAND4
Meckloenburg-Vorpommern: chrisspeed30 and marko574
Niedersachsen: Bubi776 and DerRolf999
Nordrhein-Westfalen: TomTomSnow and DeepBlue3112
Rheinland-Pfalz: Lenzi77 and Enztal Karl

Sachsen: nobody l and Jo1701
Sachsen-Anhalt: Schochi1234 and BabyBoy_X5
Schleswig-Holstein: tchiboole and Voltax
Thüringen: HayaTom and hoerste
With a week to relish in their victories and prepare for the next step, all of the 32 qualifiers can now take a breather. Whether they choose to play in some Sunday tournaments tonight to further hone their tournament skills or simply treat themselves to a night off, they have until next Sunday, November 23rd, to prepare for provincial team finals. No pressure, though.
Congratulations to all of the German provincial qualifiers! To follow along with their journey, visit the World Cup of Poker V page.
