Sisa4ok is okay with May 29 Women's Sunday Victory

Sunday Special corner logo.jpgEvery week, players find their way into the $55 Women's Sunday tournament by way of the numerous satellites running throughout the week, which allows them a seat in the big weekly event for a fraction of the registration cost. Some weeks, there are more opportunities than others. This was one of them.

The daily $11 qualifiers had new seat guarantees. For instance, today's $11 satellite offered 10 seats guaranteed, though with 80 players in attendance, 14 seats were awarded to the Women's Sunday. The Last Chance $5.50 turbo qualifier had 5-seat guarantee, though enough players entered to give away 10 seats. And this week, our PS Women Facebook page offered a freeroll that gave Monia550 a $55 tournament ticket and 15 other players took seats in the $5.50 qualifier.

With that, the May 29 Women's Sunday was upon us, and the field was a solid one. Again, the $7K guarantee was surpassed by more than $2K. The final numbers were:

Total players: 196
Prize pool: $9,800.00
Paid finishers: 36

Among the masses in this week's event was one Friend of PokerStars, Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander of Belgium, who often joins the Women's Sunday excitement. And with a $50 bounty on her head, other players were glad to see her as well.

She was never able to build much of a stack this week, however. She was down to 1,525 chips within the first hour and made her move with J♦J♥. Tanlucai was along for the ride with A♠T♦ and hit the 8♦3♣2♣T♣T♠ board for trip tens. That left Charlotte out of the tournament and awarded tanlucai the $50 bounty.

As play entered the second hour, there were 47 players remaining but the field was thinning quickly and approaching the money bubble. Just after the break at the 2.5-hour mark, the bubble burst with Ki$ikPRO out in 37th after having won a seat in the aforementioned $5.50 Last Chance turbo qualifier.

L3Genden13 was the first player to cash for $73.50, followed by simplyred10, JessyM02, and AMN77 in short order. Last week's Women's Sunday winner Mikalya88 was eliminated next in 32nd place.

Just before the three-hour mark, the final table bubble neared with 11 players left. And the elimination of pucholita left hand-for-hand play for the last 10. It didn't take long for short-stacked FaBluffy to move all-in preflop with A♥5♣, and toots19 was along in the big blind with 4♦4♥. The board of Q♠9♦6♥Q♦7♣ only gave toots19 two pair, and FaBluffy, who finished in the May 8 Women's Sunday, was out in tenth place this week.

Redhead032 races to final table with chip lead

The final table was ready to go toward the end of Level 17, with blinds at 1,500/3,000 and a 300 ante. The players' starting stacks were as follows:

Seat 1: toots19 (62,952 in chips)
Seat 2: nASnhu (50,537 in chips)
Seat 3: tinykitten10 (33,800 in chips)

Seat 5: redhead032 (109,766 in chips)
Seat 6: Sisa4ok (56,554 in chips)

Seat 9: Ph03be- (43,991 in chips)

Action was on tap for the final table, as tinykitten10 doubled through Sisa4ok, who then did the same through toots19. Then toots19 doubled through Ph03be-, who did it through usiil to stay in the game. Lizetta doubled through bojana55, and Sisa4ok did the same through redhead032.

The next double-up was a big one with nASnhu taking a big lead at the table by winning this battle with Lizetta:

Lizetta then moved all-in a few hands later with T♣J♦, and Ph03be- reraised all-in with A♥K♣ to isolate, which worked, The board of K♦J♥A♠3♠5♥ left Lizetta out in ninth place. It was only a few weeks ago that she finished in eighth place at a Women's Sunday final table, but she had to accept $186.20 for ninth this week.

Ph03be- doubled through toots19, and three hands later, toots19 risked her short stack with K♦Q♦. The other player in the hand was nASnhu with A♦K♠, and the ace kicker played as the board displayed 3♣8♥6♥9♥3♦. Toots19 was out in eighth place with $245.00.

Usiil was the next player in danger of elimination, though the battle of the blinds first began with redhead032 as the 8♣4♣T♥ flop and 5♠ turn were delivered. It was then that usiil pushed all-in with T♣7♣ for top pair, but redhead032 called with T♠J♥ for that same pair with a better kicker. The A♠ on the river changed nothing, and usiil, who won her seat in the last $11 qualifier today, departed with $343.00 for the seventh place finish.

Ph03be- & bojana55 both doubled through redhead032, but the latter came back to double through nASnhu. Tinykitten10 also doubled through bojana55.

Ph03be- sought another double and tangled with Sisa4ok. Ph03be- was on the line with K♦Q♦, but Sisa4ok had A♣T♠, which stayed the best hand as the 3♣4♦4♥9♠2♣ came on the board. Ph03be- finished in sixth place with $441.00.

Unstoppable nASnhu?

NASnhu found another huge double-up opportunity through Sisa4ok, one that put nASnhu back in control of the leaderboard. And even a double by redhead032 through nASnhu changed that momentarily, nASnhu doubled through bojana55 to regain control.

Tinykitten moved her 63,700 chips all-in with K♦T♣, and bojana55 called from the big blind with A♦J♠. Nothing changed on the board of Q♥2♠4♠8♥5♥, and bojana55 scooped the pot. That left tinykitten10 out in fifth place with $568.40.

Bojana55 couldn't recover from the last hit by nASnhu and moved all-in with K♠3♠ for only 2,794 chips. The blinds - redhead032 and Sisa4ok - both called, but a bet from redhead032 on the 2♦Q♦T♣ flop prompted a fold from Sisa4ok. Redhead032 showed T♦7♦ for middle pair, which was the best hand through the 9♠ turn and 3♥ river. Bojana55 ended her run in fourth place with $833.00.

Redhead032 took a chunk from nASnhu's stack in the following double-up hand:

When Sisa4ok challenged on a subsequent hand with an all-in move, nASnhu called all-in for her tournament life with A♥8♥. Sisa4ok showed a dominating A♦Q♦, and though both players made two pair on the 7♣T♥J♥A♣T♣ board, the queen kicker played. That left nASnhu out in third place with $1,107.40.

Ukraine versus Canda

The final two players entered the last stage of the tournament with these starting stacks:

Seat 5: redhead032 (135,654 in chips)
Seat 6: Sisa4ok (452,346 in chips)

Sisa4ok took a big pot on the first hand, but redhead032 doubled up on the second hand when Q-5 won over Q-9 with a full house.

The very next hand was another big one, though. Redhead032 raised and Sisa4ok called to see the 9♠7♥9♥ flop. A bet from Sisa4ok led to a raise from redhead032. Sisa4ok called and the 5♥ came on the turn, which she bet again. This time, redhead032 called all-in with Q♥7♦ for the flopped two pair, but Sisa4ok showed T♦9♦ for the trip nines. The 6♦ on the river ended it with redhead032 out in second place with $1,470.00.

Ukrainian player Sisa4ok won the Women's Sunday tournament and took home $2,004.10 to go with the title. Congratulations!
