Chill Women's Sunday win for icebeerkim

The month of November was in full swing on the 18th, and there was much ado about everything on PokerStars. The biggest news of the day was that the MicroMillions III series was in its fourth day and awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars to micro buy-in players. Winning five-figures for a $2 or $3 buy-in was not uncommon, and players registered en masse for the events. With everything from No Limit Hold'em to Badugi, there was everything for every poker player, all at prices that most players could afford. And with satellites for those tournaments, too, the chances to make money were invigorating!

November was also full of Women's Poker League excitement, as Team PokerStars Pros got in on the action with bounties to offer. Friend of PokerStars Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander wrote about her fun with the WPL tournaments last week.

Another week, another PS Women Live prize package was awarded in November. The weekly $215 qualifier, for which players could satellite in all week, attracted 26 players and saw minko23 of Canada win her $3,250 prize package to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas.

Not enough? The Women's Sunday was in full force on Sunday, with its $10K guarantee for players putting up the $55 buy-in. The final numbers were:

Total players: 223
Prize pool: $11,150.00
Paid finishers: 36

There were four Team PokerStars player in action today, each of them offering a $50 bounty. Team Pro Ana Marquez was the first to be eliminated in the first hour of play, and Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome was the next to go in 120th place. Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander exited in the second hour in 110th place.

Team Pro Vanessa Selbst was going strong through that hour and further, keeping a place in the top 10 for much of that time. But as the money bubble neared, Selbst lost ground and departed in 43rd place.

That bubble then burst about 15 minutes before the three-hour mark, and RuPrettygirl was the first player to cash, taking home $83.62 for 36th place. It didn't take long to get to two tables, and play moved along quickly but stalled at 11 players. A bit later, the 11th place elimination of goodluck75 eventually led to the all-in move from VANGI91. Original UTG raiser kittymstar called with A♣8♦, and VANGI91 was at risk with K♠9♣. The board came 9♥7♥8♠J♠8♣, and VANGI91 was out in tenth place with $178.40.

Domilid dominates at the start

The final table began in Level 18, with blinds of 1,250/2,500 and a 250 ante, along with these players' starting stacks:

Seat 1: domilid (149,304 in chips)
Seat 2: Lolas_mamma (20,266 in chips)
Seat 3: chanel237 (75,110 in chips)
Seat 4: anivocts (72,638 in chips)
Seat 5: rixtor70 (102,299 in chips)
Seat 6: icebeerkim (76,291 in chips)
Seat 7: BettyBoop455 (29,806 in chips)
Seat 8: kittymstar (112,768 in chips)
Seat 9: larissacws (30,518 in chips)

The very first hand of action saw BettyBoop455 raise from middle position. Domilid reraised from the small blind, and BettyBoop455 responded by moving all-in. Domilid called with J♠J♦, and BettyBoop455 was in trouble with 8♣8♥. Nothing about the 3♠9♥T♦5♦4♥ board gave any help to BettyBoop455, who exited in ninth place with $211.85.

Not long after, larissacws made her move all-in from the small blind. Original raiser rixtor70 called and showed A♥Q♠, which put larissacws behind with K♦Q♦. The flop of 4♠K♥3♥ gave larissacws the lead, though, with the pair of kings. But the A♦ on the turn made a pair of aces for rixtor70. The T♦ on the river eliminated larissacws in eighth place with $278.75.

Lolas_mamma doubled through kittymstar but remained on the short stack. A round or two later, Lolas_mamma tried it again. Chanel237 reraised all-in to isolate, which worked. Lolas_mamma showed J♦J♣, but chanel237 had K♥K♠ and only improved on the 8♥4♥K♦[5]4♠ to a full house. Lolas_mamma ended her run in seventh place with $390.25.

Icebeerkim doubled through kittymstar, and the latter then doubled through chanel237. Chanel237 then doubled through rixtor70 but was still the shortest stack at the table with less than 13K chips. Chanel237 moved all-in again on the next hand with 2♦2♥, and anivocts called from the big blind with A♦5♣. The board of 5♠Q♥K♥8♣K♣ left chanel237 out in sixth place with $501.75.

Kittymstar shines

After a rough time, kittymstar was set on taking over first place on the leaderboard and did it. It happened when anivocts moved all-in, and kittymstar called with A♦Q♠. The 3♦3♠ of anivocts had a chance, but the 5♦Q♣6♥J♣T♣ dashed those hopes and sent anivocts out in fifth place with $646.70.

Rixtor70 doubled through kittymstar, as did icebeerkim. Rixtor70 then doubled through domilid, but kittymstar doubled through rixtor70 to begin her chip recovery. When rixtor70 got involved again, kittymstar was there for the ride. They saw a raised flop of p8c]J♣5♦, and kittymstar bet. Rixtory70 check-called for the 3♠ on the turn. Kittymstar bet all-in, and rixtor70 called all-in with Q♦8♦ for middle pair. But kittymstar showed A♦J♥ for top pair, which held up to the 2♠ on the river to eliminate rixtory70 in fourth place with $947.75.

Icebeerkim sips on victory

Icebeerkim then came in with this huge double-up through kittymstar:

Three hands later, kittymstar shoved with Q♣8♦, but icebeerkim woke up with A♦A♥. The board of 4♥8♥9♣5♥K♦ changed nothing, and kittymstar had to leave in third place with $1,259.95.

The final two players started their battle with these stacks:

Seat 1: domilid (358,068 in chips)
Seat 6: icebeerkim (310,932 in chips)

But within a few hands, icebeerkim took a pot worth 211,400 chips and soared into the lead. No matter what domilid did in the lengthy battle to gain any ground, icebeerkim kept the lead. Finally, domilid pushed all-in preflop with 8♥8♣, and icebeerkim called with A♥4♣. The flop of 3♠4♥A♠ gave icebeerkim two pair, and the 2♥ and 9♦ closed out the hand. Domilid took second place and $1,672.50.

Icebeerkim of Japan won the Women's Sunday title and $2,280.28. Congrats!
