Congrats to kassike for July 22 Women's Sunday victory

Sunday Special corner logo.jpgWho wants to spend a few days in beautiful Barcelona in August? You do? Okay, I see you there. But have I seen you in the PS Women Live satellites? Action runs all week to award seats into the Sunday €215 satellite, where at least one €2K prize package has been awarded to each winner over the past few weeks. Today, dasultanz beat 12 other players for her prize package and €720 in extra cash.

It gets better! Next week, on July 29, the Sunday satellite will guarantee five (5!) PS Women Live ladies event seats, and another five will be guaranteed on Sunday, August 5. Check out the PS Women Live page here for information about how to get in on satellites throughout the week that cost only a few Euros. Win your way to the Sunday qualifier and take your shot at an EPT Barcelona ladies event ticket.

Meanwhile, the Women's Sunday was off and running today with these final registration numbers:

Total players: 204
Prize pool: $10,200.00
Paid finishers: 36

Into the second hour of the tournament, Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin found her way to the rail in 111th place. Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome played for awhile longer but eventually exited in 55th place.

The money bubble then burst into the next hour, as simobe28 became the first player to cash for $76.50. About 45 minutes after the three-hour mark, the 11th place elimination of RadeksAbout started hand-for-hand play. And it only took a few minutes for nutbreakerLL to push her 12,551 all-in with K♠J♥ UTG. CarlosGArri called from the small blind with A♥A♦, and those aces only improved on the 4♦Q♠7♦6♣A♣. NutbreakerLL departed in a respectable tenth place with $163.20.

Maedchen80 got into a big hand with ManPhisss, and the result was a pot worth 139,750 chips going to maedchen80, leaving the latter alone and with a much bigger lead than in the beginning.

Another big hand developed that started with an all-in move from kassike in middle position. Hza123 called, and maedchen80 reraised from the button. Hza123 reraised all-in, and maedchen80 called again.

hza123: A♥Q♠
kassike: A♣K♠
maechen80: A♦K♣

The board came J♦9♦4♠5♣4♥, and maedchen80 took the side pot and split the main pot with kassike. Hza123 had the worst hand and was out in ninth place with $193.80.

Kassike then doubled through maedchen80 in a subsequent hand to stay alive. J POKE75 doubled through CarlosGarri, and then the latter doubled through maedchen80.

ManPhisss tried to make a comeback and moved all-in preflop from the small blind with A♣4♣. G8a8 reraised all-in from the big blind, and original button raiser Se7enth Seal folded. G8a8 showed Q♣Q♠, and that pocket pair held up to the 5♦2♦K♠8♥7♠ on the board. ManPhisss had to leave in eighth place with $255.00.

Skynet777 doubled through g8a8, and J POKE75 doubled through skynet777. That led to another all-in from skynet777, this time from the small blind with 9♣9♦. Original raiser g8a8 called with J♥9♥ but caught the Q♦J♦8♠ flop for a pair of jacks. The J♣ turn card made trips for g8a8, and the 2♥ officially eliminated skynet777 in seventh place with $357.00.

CarlosGarri had troubles since the start but then scored this big double through g8a8:

Maedchen80 then doubled through g8a8, and g8a8 pushed all-in on the next hand with Q♦9♠. Maedchen80 called with A♠9♣ and hit nicely on the 5♣K♣A♦A♥6♥ board for trips. G8a8 went from chip leader to out in a matter of a few hands, taking home $459.00 for sixth place.

When Se7enth Seal moved all-in preflop with J♦9♠, maechen80 called from the small blind with A♣K♦ and improved to a pair of kings on the 5♣K♣3♦ flop. The 4♠ turn and 7♦ river ended the hand for Se7enth Seal, who took fifth place and $591.60.

J POKE75 doubled through CarlosGarri, and this double through maedchen80 changed everything:

Maedchen80 moved all-in soon after with Q♥Q♠, and J POKE75 was along for the ride with A♠A♦. The aces held up to the 6♦K♠J♥9♦J♦ board, eliminating maedchen80 in fourth place with $867.00.

CarlosGarri was the next to get involved with J POKE75. The two saw a raised flop of 2♠6♥9♥, and CarlosGarri bet. J POKE75 raised, and CarlosGarri called all-in with J♥8♥ for the straight draw. J POKE75 showed A♦9♣ for top pair, and the 9♦ on the turn made that into trips. The 8♦ on the river ended the tournament for CarlosGarri, who walked away with $1,152.60 for third place.

Seesaw heads-up match

It began with these chip counts:

Seat 4: kassike (154,780 in chips)
Seat 8: J POKE75 (457,220 in chips)

Kassike found a spot and doubled, and then J POKE75 doubled back to regain the lead. The exchanges of chips continued as the tournament passed the 5.5-hour mark, and kassike took a huge double-up to take a massive lead. J POKE75 pushed her short stack all-in with 8♦5♥, and kassike held J♥3♦. The board came 2♠6♦Q♣7♣3♣, and J POKE75 had to settle for second place and $1,530.00.
