COBYHbR crushes the final table in the Women's Sunday 2nd Birthday Special

Spending a Sunday afternoon at a two-year old's birthday party might be your version of personal hell. But this was no ordinary party, and no ordinary two-year old. The Women's Sunday celebrated its second birthday today, and PokerStars marked the occasion by adding a super-sized $20k guarantee and $100 bounties on each Red Spade. This lavish celebration definitely had a woman's touch, because really, what's a party without favors? Each player that bought in left with two free entries to PokerStars Women's Club events and all nine final tablists picked up a $55 ticket to a future Women's Sunday.

641 players turned up for this birthday party, pushing the prizepool well past the guarantee to top out at $32,050. 99 places were paid with first place set to earn $5,881.45. Five Red Spades were in the field carrying the aforementioned bounties: Liv Boeree, Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, Celina Lin, Fatima De Melo, and Charlotte Van Brabander, who cashed in 53rd place.

Blinds were up to 4,000/8,000 with ten players remaining and lisyjade was the short stack, holding just over five big blinds. Lisyjade moved in with K♠9♥ from the cutoff, but ran into Kachnicka72o's A♥K♥ on the button. An ace hit the flop and lisyjade hit the rail on the final table bubble.

From nine to five in seven minutes

Aretoyla7 was the first to fall at this final table. Down to eight big blinds, she three-bet shoved for 67,000 with A♣J♣ and ganatodoAA called with pocket tens. Aretoyla7 hit an ace and a jack on the flop but a ten came with them, making ganatodoAA bottom set. Aretoyla7 did not improve and departed in ninth place with $416.65.

On the very next deal, rüdiger1958 open-shoved for 93,700 with pocket threes only to run headlong into COBYHbR's A♥A♠. COBYHbR made a set of aces on the flop and rivered aces full to end rüdiger1958's run in eighth place ($705.10).

The action didn't stop for a moment and two hands later, Goldantelope moved in for her last 52,000 on the button. GanatodoAA called with 2♦2♣ and won the race against A♣8♣, the board running out 9♥7♣3♥T♦Q♦. Goldantelope was eliminated in seventh place, collecting $1,025.60 for her efforts.

Two hands after that, the last remaining short stack, Bo-Peep_86, open-shoved for 44,500 from UTG. COBYHbR flat-called from UTG+1 with pocket tens, Bo-Peep_86 revealing A♠T♣. Bo-Peep_86 couldn't find the ace she needed, the board running out 7♣6♥2♦K♦5♣ to send her home in sixth place ($1,346.10).

COBYHbR coolers okasaba74

COBYHbR now led the pack with 520,000, okasaba74 and ganatodoAA were close behind with about 460,000 apiece, Kachnicka72o held 243,000 and jtushkanchik had 233,000.

The chip leader entering the final table, okasaba74 met her tournament end on an awful cooler. With the blinds up to 5,000/10,000, COBYHbR opened for a min-rase to 20,000, okasaba74 three-bet to 49,789, and COBYHbR came back over the top for 95,000. Okasaba74 shoved for 438,800 and COBYHbR called, having her covered. Okasaba74's K♣K♦ was up against A♥A♠, the pocket rockets holding up on a Q♣9♠8♣9♥4♣ board. A stunned okasaba74 hit the rail in fifth place ($1,666.60) while COBYHbR took a dominating lead with 1.1 million in chips.

COBYHbR KOs two more

Most of ganatodoAA's chips ended up with jtushkanchik, who open-shoved for her last 187,000 with 6♣6♥. GanatodoAA reshoved from the small blind with A♦J♠, but did not improve. Down to only 91,000, ganatodoAA open-shoved from UTG. Kachnicka72o and jtushkanchik both flat-called, and COBYHbR three-bet all-in for 1.1 million. Kachnicka72o called and jtushkanchik folded.

COBYHbR T♥T♠
Kachnicka72o A♣9♥
ganatodoAA A♥4♠

COBYHbR's pocket tens flopped a set, the board running out J♦T♣2♦3♥6♦. GanatodoAA was eliminated in fourth place for $2,387.72 while Kachnicka72o took third, earning $3,172.95.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 1: jtushkanchik (232,411 in chips)
Seat 4: COBYHbR (1,690,589 in chips)

Jtushkanchik may have started heads-up play at a 7 to 1 deficit, but she quickly chipped up to 467,000 after COBYHbR check-folded to her 128,000 bet on a Q♠7♣6♠6♦5♠ board. Jtushkanchik continued to grind out small pots, moving up to 547,000 before COBYHbR won back-to-back pots to erase all her gains. First, COBYHbR turned a king-high straight to pick up a 301,000 pot, then saw her bottom pair improve to a boat to pick up another 322,000:

After that pot, jtushkanchik and COBYHbR were essentially back to where they started heads-up, and three hands later, COBYHbR had all the chips in front of her. Jtushkanchik min-raised to 40,000 with A♥T♠, COBYHbR three-bet shoved with K♠J♦ and jtushkanchki called all-in. Although jtushkanchik kept the lead on the Q♣3♠2♠ flop, COBYHbR turned top pair with the K♣. The river was the Q♦, COBYHbR closing out the win with kings and queens.

Congratulations to COBYHbR on a dominating final table performance! She took home $5,881.45 for the win while runner-up jtushkanchik banked $4,198.55.
