Women's Sunday: k chilo meh makes merry with $2,229 score

As if we needed one more reason to avoid shopping mall parking lots and shop queues this Sunday before Christmas, PokerStars made staying home and firing up the laptop even more enticing with the $10 Million guaranteed WCOOP Challenge Series. In addition to handsomely inflated prize pools in special editions of the Sunday Warm-Up and the Million, a $5,200 ticket to the WCOOP Main Event was the cherry on top for each event's winner.

Amidst all the holiday cheer, the Women's Sunday went off without a hitch. 218 ladies bought in for $55 apiece, creating a $10,900.00 prize pool. 36 players earned a share of it with $2,229.05 up top. The lone Red Spade bounty in the field was Belgium's Charlotte Van Brabander, but she met an early exit when her pocket sevens fell to jam3s1nlove's A♦Q♣.

Blinds were up to 1,500/3,000 with ten players remaining and Savins 2013 was the short stack with only 26,562 in chips. After Bokkass min-raised to 6,000 from UTG, Savins 2013 shoved from the cutoff only to have Bags&Shoes reshove for 52,116 on the button. Bokkass gave up her hand and the cards went on their backs. Savins 2013's 6♣6♥ was crushed by Bags&Shoes's K♣K♦, the board finishing T♠7♣4♥7♠2♣. Savins 2013 was out in tenth place, sending us to the final table.

Tatika takes ninth

It only took three hands for the final table to lose its first player. VVVictorYYY opened for 6,000 and Tatika three-bet shoved for 46,771 from the cutoff. VVVictorYYY called and revealed 8♣8♠. Lucky to be racing, Tatika revealed Q♦9♦. Tatika promptly made a flush on the 8♦4♦2♦ flop, but VVVictorYYY hit top set and had ten outs to a full house or better. The 6♥ turn did not help VVVictorYYY, but the 4♣ made her eights full of fours. Tatika was eliminated in ninth place, earning $207.10 for her finish.

ShootBubble's aces snapped off

ShootBubble dipped to only 23,000 in chips before she doubled through VVVictorYYY, her Q♣J♦ flopping a pair of queens vs. 4♥5♠. Two hands later, ShootBubble picked up A♦A♣ and opened for a min-raise to 8,000. K chili meh three-bet to 28,000 and ShootBubble shoved for 50,044. In deep trouble, chilo meh called and revealed A♥Q♠. ShootBubble's aces held on the Q♦7♣2♣ flop, but ShootBubble spiked the Q♥ on the turn to make trip queens. Her aces snapped off, ShootBubble hit the rail in eighth place ($272.50) while k chilo meh extended her chip lead even further with 261,500.

Vanesskica busts Bokkass

Two hands later, the action folded around to Bokkass on the button. She open-shoved for 34,600 with K♠Q♥ and Vanesskica called from the big blind with A♥J♠, having her only slightly covered. Vanesskica turned top pair and rivered top two, the board running out 7♣6♥5♣J♦A♦ to double her stack to 74,000. Bokkass was out in seventh place, collecting $381.50 for her efforts.

k chilo meh KO's two

Bags&Shoes got a boost when she doubled through k chilo meh, her pocket tens winning a race against A♣Q♦. K chilo meh, however, ended up recovering those chips rather quickly. Dealt A♠K♠, k chilo meh min-raised to 10,000 from early position. Bags&Shoes flat-called on the button and BOGOTABUTTER three-bet shoved for 53,472 from the small blind. Vanesskica called all-in for 37,961 and k chilo meh reshoved for 176,054, forcing out Bags&Shoes.

k chilo meh A♠K♠
Vasesskica Q♠Q♦

It was all but over on the A♦K♣K♥ flop as k chilo meh flopped kings full of aces. The 5♣ turn sealed the deal and both opponents were eliminated, Vanesskica in sixth place ($490.50), and BOGOTABUTTER in fifth ($632.20). K chilo meh moved up to 285,500 in chips, about a 50k lead over second-position VVVictorYYY.

Two hands later, short stack trout3344 open-shoved for her last 27,622 from UTG and Bags&Shoes called from the big blind. Trout3344's A♠8♥ lost the race to Bags&Shoes's 7♦7♣ and ended her run in fourth place with a $926.50 score.

Three-horse race

As play turned three-handed, k chilo meh led the pack with 282,000, VVVictorYYY was close behind with 239,000 and Bags&Shoes was the short stack with 133,000. With the blinds up to 2,500/5,000, VVVictorYYY opened for 10,000 from the small blind and Bags&Shoes called from the big blind. VVVictorYYY continued for 10,000 on the K♥J♣3♠ flop and Bags&Shoes called. When the Q♠ hit the turn, VVVictorYYY checked, Bags&Shoes bet 15,000 and VVVictorYYY moved all-in for 249,000. Bags&Shoes called and revealed K♠J♦ for two pair. VVVictorYYY was in drawing dead with K♦9♣ and Bags&Shoes doubled to 204,000.

VVVictorYY chipped back up to 216,000 only to be knocked back again when Bags&Shoes turned sixes full:

Bags&Shoes took the chip lead with 323,000. K chilo meh was down to 259,000 and VVVictorYYY was the short stack with 71,000.

VVVictorYYY doubled to 142,000 when k chilo meh made a small blind shove with 7♥8♥ and ran right into her pocket kings in the big blind. However, Bags&Shoes lost those chips right back a few hands later when k chilo meh aggressively played an open-ended straight draw and rivered a seven-high straight. Bags&Shoes fell to only 133,000 and k chilo meh reclaimed the chip lead. Bags&Shoes couldn't find any traction and with A♥4♥ on the button, she moved all-in for her last 81,300. K chilo meh called from the small blind with A♦T♠. K chilo meh's dominating hand held up on the J♦7♣6♣K♣5♦ board and Bags&Shoes ended her run in third place ($1,231.70).

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 3: k chilo meh (473,304 in chips)
Seat 4: VVVictorYYY (180,696 in chips)

Blinds were up to 4,000/8,000 and VVVictorYYY had chipped up to 212,000 when she opened for a min-raise on the button. K chilo meh shoved for 441,300 and VVVictorYYY snap-called with A♣A♥. K chilo meh's K♠Q♦ hit a pair of queens on the Q♥7♣4♥ flop, but the aces still led. The turn was the 9♣, no help for k chilo meh. However, the K♥ fell from heaven on the river to snap off VVVictorYYY's aces and lock up k chilo meh's first Women's Sunday title.

Congratulations to Mexico's k chilo meh on her first Women's Sunday title! She banked $2,229.05 for the win while runner-up VVVictorYYY earned $1,635.00.
