Women's Sunday: t0beR1cH gets richer, wins her third Women's Sunday title

When it comes to Women's Sunday success, this week's heads-up match was a clash of the titans. Britain's pkrbadgirl has six previous final table appearances and won her first title on April 28 of this year. Meanwhile, Russia's t0beR1cH has two Women's Sunday wins on her C.V., taking first place on July 29 and November 11 of last year. After a hard-fought battle, t0beR1cH emerged as our repeat winner, taking down her third Women's Sunday title and $2,150.00.

190 players came out for the July 7th edition of the Women's Sunday, each of them vying for a share of the $10,000 guaranteed prizepool. 27 places were paid with first place set to earn $2,150.00. This week's field was free of Red Spades (something about a massive poker tournament in Las Vegas?) and thusly, no bounties were up for grabs today.

Blinds were up to 1,000/2,000 with ten players remaining. Althought CoralieCo was the short stack with just under 26,000 in chips, Lilita88 was the first to make a move during hand-for-hand play. The action folded to t0beR1cH in the small blind and she opened for a min-raise to 4,000. Lilita88 looked down at J♣T♠ in the big blind and shoved for 38,754, only to have t0beR1ch quickly call with 9♣9♥. The A♦8♥9♠ flop hit both players, t0beR1cH flopping a set of nines while Lilita88 picked up an open-ended straight draw. However, Lilita88 did not fill it, the turn and river falling the J♥ and the T♥ to send her home on the final table bubble.

t0beR1ch rockets to the chip lead

After an orbit of quiet action, the final table got rolling when sweet_nisi three-bet shoved for 38,612 from the small blind and button raiser livwin called, having her slightly covered. Sweet_nisi had her hand caught in the cookie jar with 9♥T♥ while livwin turned over J♣J♥. The A♥J♦3♥ flop made livwin a set, but gave sweet_nisi a flush draw. The 8♣ was a safe turn card for livwin, but sweet_nisi hit her flush on the river with the K♥. Sweet_nisi doubled to 82,000, leaving livwin on only 1,788 in chips.

Two hands later, another massive pot unfolded. Livwin led off the action by tossing in her last 1,288, maybeshewill raised to 5,000 on the button and t0beR1cH reraised to 12,889 from the small blind. Maybeshewill called and they saw a 7♣6♣6♥ flop. T0beR1cH continued for 13,009 and maybeshewill called. The turn came the 9♣ and t0beR1cH checked. Maybeshewill bet 20,000 and t0beR1cH raised all-in for 89,151. Maybeshewill called off her remaining 44,900, revealing A♣T♥ for straight and flush draws. However, t0beR1cH's Q♠Q♣ held up, the river 9♦ missing maybeshewill's draws. Livwin mucked and was eliminated in ninth place ($200.00) while maybeshewill finished eighth for $300.00.

t0beR1cH gets a third KO, pkrbadgirl surges

With that double KO, t0beR1cH took a commanding chip lead with 212,000 and only furthered it when she clashed with CoralieCo. With the blinds up to 1,250/2,500, CoralieCo open-shoved for 32,731 from UTG and t0beR1cH called. T0beR1cH was in bad shape, her 9♥9♣ up against T♣T♦, but all was reversed on the 9♦4♦2♣ flop. T0beRicH's set of nines held, eliminating CoralieCo in seventh place ($400.00). T0beR1cH moved up to 250,000 in chips, more than three times the chips of second-place sweet_nisi.

However, on the next deal, mcsoup open-shoved for 52,428 from the cutoff and pkrbadgirl called with A♦K♣ in the big blind. Mcsoup's A♣6♣ was dominated and did not improve, the board running out 9♠7♠5♠2♣5♦ to end her run in sixth place ($500.00). Pkrbadgirl moved up to second in chips with 123,000.

The short stack with five players remaining, ModliszkaAA extended her tournament life when her Q♦J♠ flopped a queen and rivered trips against Ying777Yang's A♥6♠, good for a double-up to 44,700 in chips. A few minutes later, Ying777Yang went up against chip leader t0beR1cH, calling her 6,000 button min-raise from the big blind. Ying777Yang checked the K♦Q♣2♠ flop, t0beR1cH bet 8,029 and Ying777Yang raised to 16,058. T0beR1cH called and the T♠ came on the turn. Ying777Yang moved all-in for 40,624 and t0beR1cH snap-called, having turned the nut straight with A♣J♦. Ying777Yang was drawing dead with Q♠9♣ and hit the rail in fifth place ($600.00).

pkrbadgirl's six-bet shove nets the lead

With the blinds up to 2,000/4,000 pkrbadgirl opened for 8,000 and sweet_nisi shoved for 83,674. Pkrbadgirl called, her 8♣8♥ racing against K♠J♣. Although sweet_nisi flopped a straight draw to go with her overcards, pkrbadgirl's eights held, the board running out T♣9♠3♥5♠9♣ to end her run in fourth place ($875.00).

As three-handed play began, t0beR1cH still held the chip lead with 307,000, pkrbadgirl was hot on her heels with 230,500, and modliszkaAA had eight big blinds with 32,000. However, on the next hand pkrbadgirl made a six-bet shove preflop against t0beR1cH, netting herself a 185,000 pot and the chip lead:

Four hands later, t0beR1cH opened for 8,000 and modliszkaAA moved all-in for 27,532 with K♥J♣. T0beR1cH's 7♣7♠ held up on the 9♠8♠5♠8♣3♥ board, eliminating modliszkaAA in third place ($1,175.00).

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 1: pkrbadgirl (320,948 in chips)
Seat 5: t0beR1cH (249,052 in chips)

ModliszkaAA's elimination set up a heads-up match between our two previous champions. Would it be #2 for pkrbadgirl? Or #3 for t0beR1cH?

After a stretch of small pots, the chip counts had barely moved when t0beR1cH blew this heads-up match wide open. Holding K♠9♥, t0beR1cH opened for 8,000 and called pkrbadgirl's 18,596 three-bet. Pkrbadgirl lead out for 16,762 on the K♦5♥4♣ flop and t0beR1cH smooth-called with top pair. The turn was the 6♦ and once again pkrbadgirl fired, this time for 37,259. T0beR1ch shoved for 200,094 and pkrbadgirl called, revealing 3♠6♠ for middle pair and a straight draw. The J♥ river missed pkrbadgirl and t0beR1cH raked in the 472,000 pot with a pair of kings.

Pkrbadgirl was down to only 98,000 and although she chipped up to 122,000, she never recovered. The last of her chips went in with K♥J♠ but she did not improve vs. t0beR1ch's A♠9♥:

Congratulations to Russia's t0beR1cH on her third Women's Sunday title! She banked $2,150.00 for the win while runner-up pkrbadgirl marked her seventh final table appearance with a $1,550.00 payday.
