I$$almazo wins Women's Sunday 3rd Anniversary Special

Thank you. You made this third Women's Sunday anniversary tournament very special!

The $55 Women's Sunday had some perks this week. The guarantee was boosted to $30K, every woman in the tournament won three PokerStars Women's Club tickets, and there were special $150 bounties on all of the many members of Team PokerStars in the field. And you came out in droves to compete! The numbers were extraordinary, and this Women's Sunday officially became the largest in the tournament's three-year history.

Check out these numbers:

Total players: 709
Guarantee: $30,000.00
Prize pool: $35,450.00
Paid finishers: 108

As for the players sporting the red PokerStars spade next to their names and $150 bounties, a few of them exited early from the tournament. Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren was the first to go, followed by Team SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo. Team Pro Liv Boeree departed in 434th place, and new Team Online member Katerina Malasidou left soon after:

Team Pro Celina Lin made it through to 280th place before her elimination, and Friend of PokerStars Natalie Hof (who just won the EPT Vienna Women's Event last week!) finished in 229th place.

Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, who plays in the tournament nearly every week, made a deep run but ended up finishing in 122nd place:

The tournament was so full of players and prize money that it took about five hours just to reach two tables, and hand-for-hand play began not long after the 5.5-hour break.

Crazygirl.pl was quite short-stacked but doubled once through I$$almazo. On the next hand, crazygirl.pl moved all-in again, that time with A♦6♦ against the T♦9♦ of I$$almazo. The board delivered 4♣Q♦2♣8♥J♦ for the straight, and crazygirl.pl was out in tenth place with $382.86.

Isidora CdLL is chip leader

The final table was off and running in the last minutes of Level 31, with blinds of 3,200/6,400 and an 800 ante, along with these players and their chip counts:

Seat 2: SunKrit (129,743 in chips)
Seat 3: Isidora CdLL (398,617 in chips)
Seat 4: capdetelemea (292,412 in chips)

It didn't take long for a big hand to develop. It started with an UTG+1 raise from kittymstar and reraise from Quenofpkr. I$$almazo reraised all-in from the big blind, and kittymstar folded. Quenofpkr called all-in with A♠Q♠, and she faced the J♠J♥ of I$$almazo. The board of 7♣9♣5♣J♣7♦ gave I$$almazo the full house and eliminated Quenofpkr in ninth place, which was worth $453.76.

QQSophie chipped up at the expense of mcsneaky8446 early, but the latter then doubled through Isidora CdLL to stay in action. I$$almazo had snuck into first place by that time, but QQSophie was in contention for that spot as well.

When mcsneaky8446 was ready to make a move, the chip leaders were ready. QQSophie actually started the hand with a raise, and I$$almazo reraised. Mcsneaky8446 called, as did QQSophie, and they saw a flop of Q♥2♥4♠. I$$almazo bet, and mcsneaky8446 raised. QQSophie folded, but I$$almazo reraised all-in. Mcsneaky8446 called for all of her chips with K♦K♥, but I$$almazo showed A♠A♣. The 4♣ and 3♠ finished the hand with mcsneaky8446 out in eighth place with $783.44.

SunKrit was low on chips and moved all-in with 9♥9♦ from the button, but original UTG raiser QQSophie called with A♠J♦. The board of 9♠K♠7♠3♥2♠ produced a flush for QQSophie and left SunKrit out in seventh place with $1,116.67.

Two hands later, liliandre427 risked her 117K chips with 3♦3♣, and QQSophie called with K♦J♦, which made the better two pair on the A♥4♥J♠A♣Q♥ board. Liliandre427 exited in sixth place with $1,471.17.

I$$almazo and QQSophie were still battling for the position of chip leader, but the former took a pot worth more than 234K chips to climb over the 900K mark. And then kittymstar doubled through QQSophie here:

Just a few hands later, QQSophie got involved with I$$almazo and capdetelemea to see a raised flop of 8♦T♦2♠. QQSophie bet, I$$almazo called, and capdetelemea folded. The A♠ on the turn brought two checks, but the 6♣ on the river prompted QQSophie to move all-in with 7♣7♥. I$$almazo called with A♥T♥ for two pair, and QQSophie had to leave in fifth place with $1,825.67.

Final four fight on

The final four players began with these chip counts:

Seat 3: Isidora CdLL (111,452 in chips)
Seat 4: capdetelemea (299,703 in chips)
Seat 6: I$$almazo (1,121,952 in chips)
Seat 8: kittymstar (593,893 in chips)

Isidora CdLL doubled through kittymstar. I$$almazo took a big pot from capdetelemea, but the latter then doubled through the former. Isidora CdLL doubled through I$$almazo, and then Isidora CdLL scored this double through capdetelemea:

A few hands after that, capdetelemea moved all-in UTG with Q♦T♠, and Isidora CdLL called with A♣9♣. The board revealed 5♥5♣A♠4♦5♠, and the full house eliminated capdetelemea in fourth place, which was worth $2,587.85.

Isidora CdLL was on a roll and doubled through kittymstar as shown here:

Two hands after that, kittymstar moved her 42,759 chips all-in with J♣T♣, and I$$almazo called with A♣K♥. The board came 9♠5♣6♠A♥J♦, and kittymstar was out in third place with $3,456.37.

Gearing up for a battle

The final two players started heads-up play with close chip stacks:

Seat 3: Isidora CdLL (978,706 in chips)
Seat 6: I$$almazo (1,148,294 in chips)

After a few rounds, and Isidora CdLL having taken a slight lead, the two paused the tournament to discuss a deal. They nearly agreed to split the prize money evenly, but Isidora CdLL wanted to see the ICM numbers. They agreed on those, which made the payouts as follows:

Seat 3: Isidora CdLL (1151661 in chips) = $5,587.50
Seat 6: I$$almazo (975339 in chips) = $5,437.61

Almost as soon as they returned to action, I$$almazo doubled up:

Isidora CdLL doubled back two hands later, and two hands after that, Isidora CdLL risked her stack again with J♣5♣. I$$almazo showed K♥T♠ and picked up a pair on the 2♥T♣6♣A♠7♠ board. Isidora CdLL finished in second place with $5,587.50.
