Women's Sunday: Third time's the charm for missnadiaa; talonchick takes fifth
Before we get to this week's results, let's pause for an important public service announcement about next week's Women's Sunday 3rd Anniversary Special. Start grinding those satellites, ladies, because this birthday tourney comes with triple the guarantee ($30,000!) and triple-sized Red Spade bounties ($150!) You don't want to miss this one-- first place should be more than $5,000, which certainly outdoes the gift bag from any three-year-old's birthday party I've ever experienced.
This week's final table was peppered with familiar faces, the most recognizable belonging to Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, who held the chip lead on the money bubble and made the final table. Several Womens' Sunday final table veterans stood in her way, including pkwo, kassike, and missnadiaaa, all looking for their first title. After an unlucky hand eliminated Rowsome in fifth place, missnadiaa worked her way off the short stack and got heads-up with pkwo holding a slight lead. Today, however, belonged to missnadiaa, who turned a straight against pkwo's two pair to take down her first Women's Sunday title in three trips to the final table.
240 players entered this week's Women's Sunday, the prize pool topping out at at even $12,000.00. 36 places were paid with $2,454.00 set aside for first place. Along with Rowsome, Team Pro Liv Boeree joined the field as a Red Spade Bounty, but hers was claimed early while Rowsome made the final 36 as the chip leader.
Blinds were up to 1,250/5,000 with ten players remaining and Rowsome was still going strong with 95,000 in chips. Heads-up to a A♥K♦7♦ flop after calling a raise from the big blind, Rowsome check-called kassike's 8,888 c-bet and checked again when the J♣ turned. Kassike checked behind and the river paired the board with the K♠. Rowsome led out for 17,890 and kassike called. Rowsome turned up 9♣7♠ for two pair but it was no match for kassike's trips with K♣6♣.
Rowsome fell to 63,000 in chips and with the action folded to her in the small blind, she moved all-in, only to run into Bible75's K♦Q♣. Rowsome's 5♥T♠ was drawing dead by the turn on the K♣K♠9♣2♦4♥ board and Bible75 doubled to 58,000.
On the other table, EverITM opened for 5,000 and pkwo called from the small blind. PKwo check-called 6,950 on the K♣4♣2♥ flop and check-raised to 30,000 when the A♣ hit the turn. EverITM shoved for 41,477 and pkwo called, revealing J♣9♣ for a flush. EverITM's A♠4♠ needed to fill up on the river, but the 5♣ fell instead, ending EverITM's run on the final table bubble.

talon triumphs over cranky in battle of the chicks
Talonchick recovered from losing more than half her stack on the final table bubble when crankychick moved all-in for 38,484 and talonchick called with A♦Q♦. Crankychick's Q♣J♣ lost the kicker war on the K♠9♥3♦K♦Q♠ board and she was left with less than 4,000 in chips while talonchick doubled to 75,000. Crankychick put the last of her chips in the middle from the big blind on the next deal and was up against two opponents-- Bible75 and missnadiaa. On the Q♣8♠5♦ flop, Bible75 check-folded to misnadiaa's 15,000 bet and the latter turned up A♠A♦. Crankychick revealed a gutshot straight draw with J♥9♦ but didn't catch a ten to fill it, the turn and river falling the 5♥ and the 4♥. Crankychick was the final table's first casualty and collected $228.00 for ninth place.
Skynet777 fell to 11,634 before she found A♠5♥ and open-shoved from middle position. Spannaa123 successfully isolated with a 69k shove on the button and turned over A♥Q♦. Spannaa123 flopped a queen on the Q♣7♣6♠3♦T♥ board and send skynet777 to the rail in eighth place, good for $300.00.
spannaa123 runs into pkwo's AA
With the blinds up to 2,000/4,000, spannaa123 looked down at A♠Q♠ and opened for 8,000. Pkwo three-bet to 20,000 and spannaa123 came back over the top for her remaining 62,060. Pkwo called and revealed the bad news... A♣A♦. Spannaa123 didn't get a miracle on the J♣7♦7♥3♦6♠ board and departed in seventh place ($420.00).
talonchick and pkwo deal kassike a one-two punch
Down to 50,000 in chips, talonchick three-bet shoved for her last 12.5 big blinds with pocket sevens and kassike looked her up with A♦9♥. Talonchick's pair held up on the J♣T♥6♠K♠J♠ board and she doubled to 104,500, leaving kassike on only 33,000. Kassike moved in from the cutoff on the next deal with A♦J♥ and pkwo called with 8♠8♣ from the big blind. Kassike didn't improve on the 6♠5♣4♥ flop, but the J♠ turned, making her top pair. However, the 7♣ river spoiled her party, giving pkwo an eight-high straight. Kassike was eliminated in sixth place, collecting $540.00 for her efforts.
missnadiaa takes talonchick's bounty
Two hands later, Bible75 scored a double-up when she turned a flush against talonchick's nut flush draw and wheel draw:
While Bible75 doubled to 156,000, talonchick was left with only 25,000. Talonchick doubled up on the next hand when her J♠7♦ turned a pair of jacks and rivered jacks and sevens vs. pkwo's 9♥9♣. Back up to 61,000, talonchick looked down at 9♦9♥ and called missnadiaa's shove. Although talonchick's nines were in great shape vs. A♦3♠, missnadiaa hit an ace on the flop to snap them off. Talonchick was eliminated in fifth place ($696.00) and missnadiaa collected her $50 bounty.
missnadiaa shatters lalique2011
The blinds were up to 3,000/6,000 when pkwo opened for 15,000 and Bible75 called from the big blind. Bible75 checked the 8♣7♣2♠ flop, pkwo bet 18,000 and Bible75 shoved for 145,000. Pkwo snap-called, his K♥K♠ crushing Bible75's K♦8♦. The turn and river fell the 5♣ and the 6♥ sending Bible75 to the rail in fourth place ($1,020.00).
With three players remaining, pkwo held the chip lead with 337,000, lalique2011 was second with 225,000 and missnadiaa was the short stack with 158,000. Missnadiaa fell all the way to 97,000 before her J♠J♣ held against lalique2011's A♠Q♣ to double her stack to 197,500. On the very next deal, Lalique2011 opened for 15,000 from the small blind and missnadiaa called from the big. Both players checked the A♥7♦2♦ flop. Lalique2011 led out for 15,000 when the 5♠ turned and missnadiaa called. The river was the 7♣ and lalique2011 made it 60,000 to go. Missnadiaa shoved for 166,698 and lalique2011 called, her A♣5♦ no good against missnadiaa's set of fives with 5♣5♥. For third place, lalique2011 took home $1,356.00.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 5: missnadiaa (381,549 in chips)
Seat 8: pkwo (338,451 in chips)
Although they went into it with nearly even chip counts, heads-up play took only 13 hands. The first 12 unfolded without a showdown, but all the marbles went in on #13, missnadiaa turning a jack-high straight to snap off pkwo's eights and nines:
Congratulations to Belgium's missnadiaa on her first Women's Sunday title! She banked $2,454.00 for the win, while runner-up pkwo earned $1,800.00.
