PCA 2013: Shannon Shorr takes down the $10,000 turbo for $160,610

Every EPT and PCA festival ends up with a popular high stakes turbo. The PCA 2013 offering came in the shape of a $10,000 six-max turbo which pulled in 88 entries, including many that had played the $25,000 over the two days previous. Those high stakes guys, they don't like to leave a festival in the hole.

Dani 'supernova9' Stern took the largest scoop of prize pool to boost his career live winnings up close to the million dollar mark ($986,450) - he's already crossed that seven-figure line in online tournament winnings at PokerStars - but he couldn't quite get his hands on the trophy after a four-way chop.

The shiny chunk of metal went to Shannon Shorr who had a great cashed in the PCA Main Event for $15,000 and a $1,100 turbo for $5,520 while Gleb Tremzin managed a 57th place finish for $26,000. Neither Stern nor Koon had managed to notch up any other results here but a profit of $170,280 and $157,165 respectively should have converted their PCAs into winning trips.

Both Ole Schemion and Micah Raskin late registered for the event after busting out of the $25,000 High Roller on the same day. Raskin was the first to bust from the High Roller final table (8th, $129,940) while Schemion had finished fourth ($354,860) and had leapt straight into the later levels. It turned out to be a winning decision - even though he just missed out on the big money four-way chop. Schemion, who was the 23rd largest live casher for 2012, kicked off this year to a flier with two final tables in the same day for a combined $410,340.
