Niniko68 notches Women's Sunday win

Have you heard about the relaunch of the PokerStars Women's Club? On Monday, the Club began offering more cash prizes, tournaments, and lower buy-ins. It's the perfect time to get acquainted with other women in the PokerStars community for weekly guarantees and good times!

And today is the last of the three-day PS Women's Club caption competition. Get the details here, and click on the Facebook link to participate. For your caption, you will receive a ticket to next weekend's special freeroll. Who doesn't love a freeroll?

Speaking of things we love, the $55 Women's Sunday is always on that list. And it was for a big crowd of women this week as well:

Total players: 242
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $12,100.00
Paid finishers: 36

The bounty player this week was Team PokerStars Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, who offered $50 to the player who could eliminate her from the tournament. Well, someone did take her up on that and sent her away in 120th place today.

Play moved forward toward the three-hour mark, and the money bubble burst to guarantee the top 36 finishers at least $90.75.

As the four-hour mark hit, the final table was close, especially with the elimination of zsuzsy2003 in 11th place. It didn't take long for f.t DON1 to make her move and push all-in from the big blind with 7♦7♥, but original small blind raiser bluevelvetQQ didn't hesitate to call with A♠A♦. The board of T♥6♣6♥9♠A♥ gave bluevelvetQQ the full house and sent f.t DON1 out in tenth place with $193.60.

Hotjenny314 leads hot final table

The final table was then set as follows:

Seat 1: Bio_Winner (66,062 in chips)
Seat 2: ReidJ (66,224 in chips)
Seat 3: allimacj (30,062 in chips)
Seat 4: hotjenny314 (151,171 in chips)
Seat 5: bluevelvetQQ (93,540 in chips)
Seat 6: miss_intrprt (89,224 in chips)
Seat 7: ChikenGuska (47,012 in chips)
Seat 8: niniko68 (119,488 in chips)
Seat 9: KonaFraRena (63,217 in chips)

ReidJ took some of hotjenny314's chips on the very first hand, while allimacj doubled thorugh KonaFraRena a few hands later. ChikenGuska then did the same through bluevelvetQQ, and KonaFraRena did it through miss_intrprt. The latter doubled through allimacj, and bluevelvetQQ doubled through miss_intrprt.

ChikenGuska then got involved with hotjenny314, the latter of whom raised pre-flop, and ChikenGuska called from the big blind. The flop of Q♠J♥5♦ prompted hotjenny314 to bet, and ChikenGuska check-raised all-in with Q♣T♣ for top pair. But hotjenny314 called with Q♥J♠ for two pair, which remained the best hand through the 3♠ turn and K♦ river cards. ChikenGuska exited in ninth place with $229.90.

KonaFraRena doubled through niniko68 on the next hand, but miss_intrprt needed more chips as well. Miss_intrprt pushed all-in UTG with A♦4♦, and bluevelvetQQ called from the big blind with A♥K♠. The king kicker made for the best hand on the 3♦5♥Q♠J♥9♣ board, and miss_intrprt was gone in eighth place for $302.50.

Shortly thereafter, allimacj risked her tournament life with A♦T♦ but ran into the A♥A♠ of KonaFraRena in the big blind. The pocket rockets held up to the 6♦3♣4♠J♣K♠ board, and allimacj departed in seventh place for $423.50.

ReidJ moved all-in on the very next hand with A♣K♠, and KonaFraRena called from the small blind with 3♣3♥. That pair only picked up a friend on the 7♥5♠3♠J♦A♦ board, and that set eliminated ReidJ in sixth place with $544.50.

On the next hand, niniko68 doubled through bluevelvetQQ as seen here:

Action calmed down for a few rounds before Bio_Winner was down to 40K chips and pushed all-in UTG with K♠Q♠. Niniko68 reraised all-in from the small blind with A♦K♣, and the big blind folded. The board came 2♥2♦A♠8♣2♠, and Bio_Winner was out in fifth place with $701.80.

BluevelvetQQ was the next player at risk, and she did it with K♠9♦ but again met up with niniko68. This time, niniko68 had K♥T♠ and only improved on the T♦2♣5♥8♣J♠ board. BluevelvetQQ was gone in fourth place with $1,028.50.

Nearly even for final three

The last three players in the tournament got into action with these chip counts:

Seat 4: hotjenny314 (226,785 in chips)
Seat 8: niniko68 (281,772 in chips)
Seat 9: KonaFraRena (217,443 in chips)

Nearly 20 minutes went by before KonaFraRena doubled through hotjenny314, and another 10 minutes later, hotjenny314 was reduced to less than 100K and made her push. KonaFraRena raised as the first to act, and hotjenny314 moved all-in with 4♠4♣. KonaFraRena called with J♣J♥, and that pair evolved into the best two pair on the 2♣K♦8♣8♠5♣ board. PokerStars Women blog contributor and pro poker player Katie "hotjenny314" Dozier departed in third place with $1,367.30.

Heads-up action

The two finalists started heads-up play with these stacks:

Seat 8: niniko68 (338,872 in chips)
Seat 9: KonaFraRena (387,128 in chips)

The two played on for some time, both exchanging the chip lead. At a point when KonaFraRena had a bit of a lead, niniko68 made this play:

KonaFraRena was left with little more than 50K chips but did find a double-up opportunity a few rounds later. She then risked her chips again, with K♣J♣, and niniko68 showed 4♦4♥. The flop of 7♥9♣J♥ brough KonaFraRena top pair, but the 3♥ on the turn gave niniko68 the flush draw. The 8♥ made that flush on the river, eliminating KonaFraRena in second place for $1,815.00.

Niniko68 won the Women's Sunday and $2,474.45. Congrats!
