Vote Humberto!

I am very happy with the way this year's World Series of Poker turned out for me. I played 24 tournaments and cashed five times, but my most meaningful accomplishment was making the money in the Main Event. It enabled me to tie Doyle Brunson with eight overall Main Event cashes. The two of us are third overall, Bobby Baldwin is second with nine and number one is Berry Johnston with ten. I'm really proud of this statistic, especially because I've only been playing the Main Event since 1987 while Doyle, Berry, and Bobby started playing it back in the 1970's.

I've been on a hot streak since the last week of the WSOP. I cashed the last three events I played in, including the Main Event, then traveled to Lima, Peru to play the LAPT. I ended up cashing the Lima Main Event and the High Roller, making it five cashes in the last five tournaments I entered. Every time I cash a tournament I feel that I'm getting closer and closer to winning another World Series bracelet or major title. The shark is as hungry as ever!

Until about a year ago, I never thought of the possibility of being nominated to the Poker Hall of Fame until someone brought it to my attention. I felt very honored to even be considered that way. For so many years, poker was just a hobby for me. I started going to the World Series in 1987 and considered myself a recreational player until 2006 when PokerStars invited me to sign with them as a Team Pro. I'm also proud to be considered because so far, only Americans have been elected to the Poker Hall of Fame. It would be incredible to be the first Latin American player to be chosen.

My sharks and I will be circling the globe again this fall. First I'll be in Panama for the LAPT, and then at the LAPT Grand Final in beautiful Punta del Este, Uruguay. I was also thinking about going to Barcelona for the EPT, but when I heard about how huge the fields were at last year's EPT London, I decided that would be my next European destination. Then it will be back to Latin America for the BSOP Millions in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
