The 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event final table begins on Monday, and while there are no Team PokerStars Pros competing for the $8.5 million first-place prize, one member of the team trained an Octo-Niner.
For the past few weeks, Team Pro and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Vanessa Selbst has been working with chip leader Jesse Sylvia. Sylvia played with Selbst on Day 6 of the Main Event, and he approached her for advice and ideas after making the final table.
Selbst herself didn't tweet this picture, but fellow poker pro Jeff Madsen captured the Team PokerStars Pro and Sylvia during one of their final prep sessions in Las Vegas:
Fellow Team Pro David Williams is supporting Sylvia as well. He tweeted, "He's a nice guy and he plays #mtg. #getthatmoney."
With Halloween around the corner, a few members of Team PokerStars Pro are already celebrating. Jason Mercier dressed up as Super Mario for a party over the weekend, and Vanessa Rousso carved the first pumpkin of her life.
"It's uh me! Mario!!!! @Darko_Trifunov."
"Carved my first pumpkin ever tonight! :) #gangstapumpkins."
Team Pros Eugene Katchalov and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier are still traveling the world together. Their latest stop is Pattaya, Thailand, where Katchalov went elephant riding.
"Amazing animals...so much fun."
He also went to a restaurant where you can catch your own food.
"What first looks like a pool is actually part of a restaurant where you have the option to fish for yourself! #Thailand."
Grospellier also rode an elephant and tweeted a picture of he and Katchalov at the Sanctuary of Truth.
Grospellier and Katchalov aren't the only Team Members playing with animals, Liv Boeree recently went on a safari and tweeted this picture:
"This giraffe is taller than me."
Yes, Liv, the giraffe is indeed taller than you.
