As if Vanessa Selsbt needed another laurel for her neck, today the Global Poker Index announced the Team Pro has just become the first woman to hold the top spot on the GPI300.
The rankings, which use a formula that takes into account performance over a 36-month period, revealed today that Selbst's work at the WSOP this year has pushed her over former #1 Ole Schemion.
Selbst has spent the past four weeks at #2 behind Schemion. That all changed when Schemion decided to take a quick break during the WSOP and Selbst came out on fire. She won the $25,000 Mixed Max event and cashed in the Omaha/Stud. It was enough to push her to the top.
Selbst is the eighth person to hold the #1 spot since the GPI rankings began. Fellow Team Pros Daniel Negreanu (#3) and Jonathan Duhamel (#10) are also in the top ten of the GPI300.
Congratulations, Vanessa on yet another achievement.
