PokerStars Championship Barcelona: The €10,000 High Roller kicks-off
As things wind-down here for Day 4 of the Barcelona Main Event, things are about to kick-off for the remaining high-rollers still in town, with the €10,300 Single Re-entry High Roller starting shortly.
This is apparently the very best €10k high-roller out there -- but don't take my word for it. I overheard two November niners' in Kenny Hallaert and Jerry Wong chatting about it over breakfast.
"There are always a loads of runners" I overheard Hallaert telling Wong in-between sips of milk.
"It should be around a million up top".
And he's probably not far off. If this year's turnout is anything like last year's, we're certainly in for a big prizepool. Last year, 591 took a shot at the title, with Connor Drinan topping the field to claim a cool €849,000 first-place prize. He took out the likes of Mike McDonald, Natasha Barbour, Joseph Serock, and Davidi Kitai to get there.
Anyway, back to the day and it will start slowly-- it always does --at 12:30pm local time today. Players will start with 50,000 and will play 10 one-hour levels today, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 8. Blinds will start at 100-200 (25 ante), and for those with bigger bankroll's there's always the option of re-buying once.
So far I've seen the likes of Jack Salter, Ike Haxton, Jake Cody and Stephen Chidwick loitering around the main room - so expect to see them, and a load more familiar faces, in the action later on.
We'll be here covering the main bits today, so keep an eye on the blog as we bring you all you need to know.
