PokerStars Championship eyes Macau & Monte Carlo with new guarantees
We're currently packing our bags for the next PokerStars Championship in Panama, but as we finish up, it's imperative that we let you know what just hit our desk. It seems (just as they did with the Panama schedule), the PokerStars Championship organizers are making some important changes to the upcoming Macau and Monte Carlo schedules.
If you--like us--are already planning for your trips to Macau and Monaco, have a look at highlights from the springtime PokerStars Championship events.
PokerStars Championship Macau
If you've not been paying attention to what's happening in Macau, you're going to want listen up. The poker scene there is thriving. The recent Macau Poker Cup events have been breaking records all over the place.
The PokerStars Championship Macau runs March 30-April 9 at the City of Dreams in Macau. You're likely already aware of some of the major highlights, including the HKD$400,000 Super High Roller, HKD$42,400 Main Event, and HKD$103,000.
If you're looking for some sweet guarantees, that's happening in the PokerStars National Championship and the PokerStars Asia Open. The National Championship will carry a HK$2 million guarantee and the Asia Open will have a HK$1 million guarantee. What's more, there will be a lot more qualifying options (including multi-seat guarantees) to those tourneys and the Main Event.
Throughout the course of the Macau Championship, you can expect to find a very balanced schedule that will offer many different options throughout the day. There will be more offerings for High Rollers and more ways to qualify for those events. What's more, you will see the addition of Shot Clock tournaments for the first time ever at a PokerStars event in Asia.

PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo
A little more than two weeks after the festivities wrap up in Macau, the party will pack up and move to Monte Carlo, Monaco where the event organizers already have some big guarantees and exciting events planned. PokerStars is expecting more than €30 million in prize money to be paid out over the course of all the tourneys in Monaco.
Over the course of this Championship, you can expect more re-entry events, longer registration times, a bigger schedule for lower-buy-in events, more high roller events, more deep stack tourney, and progressive Super Knockout tourneys for lower buy-ins.
The Monte Carlo PokerStars National Championship have a big 50-seats-guaranteed satellite that leads up to a €1,000,000 guaranteed event. What's more, if you bust out, you will have an opportunity to play a new turbo re-entry flight. This is not some tiny event. It is essentially a renamed version of the France Poker Series Event which drew more than 1,200 players last year (without the re-entry flight option!).
Want some more guarantees?
o The PokerStars Cup will have one entry per flight available and have a €200,000 guarantee.

Speaking of the Main Event, it's looking to be big. Last year's Monte Carlo Main Event pulled in 1,098 entries. This year, there will be a live 30-seat-guaranteed mega qualifier to the PokerStars Championship Main Event.
PokerStars is planning a lot of promotions surrounding this event and a broad array of online satellites. So keep your eyes and ears open for what's to come!
