PokerStars Festival Rozvadov: High rolling in RozVegas

Busted the Main Event? Why not hop in the High Roller?

It's not an option available to every player here at the PokerStars Festival Rozvadov, but those with bankrolls big enough came here to play and play some more. There's a reason this village is called RozVegas, after all.

More than half of the enormous King's Casino poker room is taken up by the Main Event Day 2 field right now, but a scattering of tables right in front of our media desk have now opened up for the €2,200 PokerStars Festival High Roller.

The field size is steadily growing, with 44 players currently involved and plenty more expected as time ticks on. Each of them begins with a 30,000 starting stack, and registration is open until the end of Level 8 (unlimited re-entries are available). As this is only a two day tournament, the levels are a little shorter than that of the Main Event; they'll be playing 14 40-minute levels today in total, before playing down to a champion tomorrow.

So who do we have in the High Roller field right now? Let's take a look.

Malec is back for more

A glance over the tables reveals plenty of familiar faces, perhaps none more so than EPT13 Barcelona winner Sebastian Malec. The bright red jacket he wore in the Main Event is still gracing his upper half - perhaps that's why we clocked him so quickly.

Horecki hoping for High Roller happiness

There's a Team Pro in the mix too. Poland's Marcin Horecki will be hoping for better luck in this one than he had in the Main Event; be played both Day 1A and Day 1D but couldn't survive either one.

Other notables include Belgium's Pierre Neuville, Eureka6 Hamburg champ Dinesh Alt, Eureka6 Prague victor Hubert Matuszewski, 2013 Danish Championships winner Rasmus Agerskov, EPT13 Barcelona €10K High Roller runner up Marcin Chmielewski, and 2016 WCOOP Main Event boss Jonas Lauck.

Neuville never says no to a High Roller

The PokerStars Festival London equivalent of this High Roller got 166 entries and 2 re-entries , creating a £345,320 prize pool. In the end it was local lad Joe Johnson who won the trophy and £59,912 after cutting a heads-up deal with Enzo Del Piero.
