Super Deep champ Strokolis: If the gloves fit...

It wouldn't be a true festival if there were only a Main Event and High Roller on the schedule. Here at King's Casino in Rozvadov there's plenty for players to enjoy; even those with smaller bankrolls.

For half the cost of Main Event entry, the €550 PokerStars Super Deep tournament - which kicked off on Sunday March 5th - attracted a healthy 304 entries (246 unique players + 58 re-entries), creating a €147,440 prize pool. A sixth of those total entries - or 55, if we're being precise - got paid, but all were aiming to end with all the chips and add €25,769 to their wallets.

Only one player could do it of course, and that player was Oleksandr Strokolis. He outlasted a tough final table, and ultimately took down his first ever tournament - which also happened to be his first ever live cash!

Here's a look at how the final table finished up:

POSNAMECOUNTRYSTATUSPRIZE
1Oleksandr StrokolisUkraine  € 25,769
2Domenico GalaItaly  € 18,951
3Hubert Baran-OsinskiPoland  € 13,937
4Daniel HarwoodUnited Kingdom  € 10,249
5Robert SaffranGermany  € 7,537
6Jonathan DartevelleFrance  € 5,543
7Václav PavlíkCzech Republic  € 4,076
8Quentin PeetersBelgium  € 2,998

Strokolis is a cash game grinder by trade, usually found at the NL200 and 400 tables on PokerStars. The 24-year-old from Kiev only came down to the PokerStars Festival Rozvadov with the intention of playing some cash games, but when a bit of bad luck made him question his decision, he changed the course of action and hopped in the Super Deep instead. What a decision that turned out to be!

The fourth place finisher was Daniel Harwood, who you may recognise from January's coverage of the PokerStars Festival London. Harwood was our runner-up in that Main Event for a very impressive £95,000, and his hot streak has travelled over with him to Rozvadov. With this result, Harwood adds a further €10,249 to his career earnings, which now sit at $287,988.

Harwood's good

The runner-up, Domenico Gala, received €18,951 for his efforts. This is the second time the Italian player has reached a final table here at King's Casino, as only last year he was eliminated in ninth place for €9,920 at the Eureka6 Rozvadov Main Event.

PokerStars Open

Another of the bigger tournaments at the beginning of the schedule was the €275 PokerStars Open. That event attracted 740 entries, creating a €179,450 prize pool which smashed the €100K guarantee. Here's how that one ended:
